The women in my family have worn
their grief like pearls,
tears that fallen down to their ears
hanging daintily,
shimmering powder blue,
passed down from mother to mother,
a generational heirloom.

match lit,
flickering,
growing,
swaying,
dancing,
glowing,
melting,
melting,
melting,
fading,
subsiding,
snuffed out.

Can I be both
the center and
the ray
the middle
and the outskirts
and is this longing why
it hurts so much
and why you asked me
to expand?

If love is for fools
And hate is for monsters
Where does that leave me?
Somewhere in between
Lost in this shuffle
Wandering between forest and sea
Not quite belonging to either
But needing to be with the trees
Someday I’ll grow my roots

Everybody thinks I'm this imperfect child
The try and change me shape me
Like a cloud in the sky
Call me whatever you want
You can change my outside
Mascara, eyeliner, perfume
But you can't change my inside
Because that is me

{have you realized, my love?
that you are
all i breathe,
all i seek
up above
in the sky and clouds
i’ve encountered
a path
in absence of
you
it leads me
to a vast
and desolate
darkness.
the path is
fragranced
by your sweet
and
innocent scent,
your blissful energy
trapped in captivity
cries out to me,
my love
my love, you are
brandished
by gold and ivory
i'm in love with
your shine, but
undeniably
you aren’t looking
at mine.
you, my dear, are
magnetic,
transcending and
everlasting joy
rushes my heart
while the thought
of you
rips.
me.
apart.}

My puzzle of life is missing a piece
I've done everything I've set out to do
So missing a part doesn't bother me
And I've stopped looking for it too
I suppose It will find me in time
Because I've stopped searching
It's a piece etched in my mind
Just in case it comes looking
I would like to finish the jigsaw
But I can only do one part at a time
I'll just wait for the final piece to fall
I will not stand in line trying to find
It will come as a surprise to me
If it ever comes into my hands
It know it's only just one piece
But It's an important part to land

The sun has come and gone
The moon eclipsed
The wind has run away
The sea receded
How many opportunities
Have been lost
Because of waiting for
'The right moment'
