I glance back to see if I ever had it When it changed from making my steps light to making me suffocate Because if things won't get better than this It'll never be good.

because the hardest goodbyes are the ones that we never had the ones that ended before the story was over. when the rest of the pages turned blank and i flicked through the book desperately looking for the rest of the story and finding nothing but blank pages I turn back to the first chapter re read it the words you wrote and I know that I had it was never going to end that the pages were blank all along that the promises were empty words and that you would leave without telling me why leaving me wondering what I'd done wrong. and I push you away as I attempt to fill the space with meaningless touches, empty words cigarette smoke and glasses of wine.
