How does an orange clock work? Well it tells the time in orange coloured ways. In its innards do strange gears lurk, And it chimes the years and ticks away the days. It's a bright and shiny timepiece; Every second does it add to make the hours. When it's wound down will its time cease, As its flesh and skin the universe devours.

Orange Clockwork
From slumber and the silence of the womb To dawning and the brightness of the light That fades to black, as in a shuttered tomb, Are left but darkness and the dead of night. Then night ages to grey before the dawn And golden glows the east as morning breaks, As with the rising sun a day is born And once again to light the earth awakes.

Day by Day
Take sapphires, rubies, diamonds bright, Each stone aglitter with starlight, And with these gems, a harp then mould With finest strings of pure spun gold. A cherub then to pluck the strings While by his side with folded wings In dulcet tones an angel sings In praise of Him, the King of Kings.

A Hit in Heaven
In April when the first cool days Foretell of winter’s coming frost And waning sun’s soft golden rays Shine weaker now that summer’s lost. When morning mists in veils of grey The trees along the river cloak Until the breezes blow away The clinging mist like clouds of smoke. Then under skies of palest blue In these clear days before the cold The trees that shed their gowns bestrew The fading green with flecks of gold.
