may you see the light of which your dreams shine from the night before as golden as the blissful sun wrapping you in its warmth and glory may you feel the rush of love you expect from others, from your self like the glistening river that flows into the unknown may you feel the hand of grace touching you like the summer’s breeze as surreal as the colours of the sky breaking you down to make you feel whole again may you someday find your heart even when everything feels like it is falling apart with the soft summer’s breeze to pink your cheeks and warm your soul – cc

the summer's breeze
her eyes danced to the rhythm of the flickering flames trying to stay lit despite the crack in the windowpane wallowing in the sound of fire and this luminous portrait across the room of her fears and her faith

we’re told we are round pegs in square holes with minds and dreams beyond our years so we grow to be into the world as wary right-brained wanderers oblivious misfits looking for romantic nooks versions of our own leather-bound fears seeking tales of the past and fantasies of the future isn’t imagination real beneath all its layers? soon you grow up and find your truth this life is yours and not theirs to choose maybe we are round pegs in square holes with minds and dreams beyond our years so breathe you, breathe to the rhythm of your soul live not to be liked, live to remember we’re only travellers after all with borrowed time and experiences to treasure then why live to be liked when we can live for ourselves in golden measure?

i see your eyes dancing to the flickering lights as the shadows shimmer on our balcony tiles rocking on your heels to the rhythm of the night simply radiant with no sorrows or lies you make sacrifices seem like your prize breathing love and gratitude into our days and nights but oh baby girl you can’t always disguise all those dreams you have for the sake of our lives cc

Magic
All those days we talked about our endless dreams Where worlds lit up and rainbows never die We'd talk for hours, cause that's what best friends do We love, live and grow together as one We fight each other, challenge each other Never as much as we would fight for each other We'd talk for hours, cause that's what best friends do Come rain or sunshine, we'll stand together as one Through high school dramas and mid-life crises We found that balance to beat the odds We'd talk for hours, cause that's what best friends do Even on our darkest days, we got through it as one I'm lucky I found my best friend in my mum I'm truly the luckiest one!

Mothers and daughters
She wanted to watch the sun rise, he escaped as it set He held her close on her darkest days He gave her hope that she could find love again She laughed again, out loud, for the first time in years For he held her close on her darkest days He held her close on her darkest days He gave her time, he paid attention He broke the walls and calmed the storm within her soul For he held her close on her darkest days He held her close on her darkest days Only to free his hand from hers when she finally learnt to dance in the rain again She was his project and the end was near For he only held her close on her darkest days He held her close on her darkest days The flowers bloomed but in her soul deep darkness loomed He promised her sunshine but left her cold rain For he only held her close on her darkest days
