Why be ok?
when you could be great...
fantastic
lovely
flabbergasted
Joyful
melancholy
happy

The window’s left open
And yet I can't sleep
The door is shut and my fan is on
But my eyes still creep open
And that’s when I feel its hand on my stomach
I feel its breath on my face.
The great beast has crawled out of the closet
I’m just it’s snack.
The great beast snarls words I can’t understand.
It has long black nails and a large mouth.
It has the sockets for the eyes it now lacks.
It has flesh like mine and thoughts like mine
The great beast snarls again and 3 words shine through
“Me
And
You”
The great beast removes it’s hand and makes it’s way to the window
“Me
And
You”
It’s louder now and clearer. I understand that I must follow it
Through the window, to the outside with its arm around my shoulder
It snarls no more, it’s nails no longer black, and it’s eyes in its head look like mine.
It guides me to the road with a comforting sigh it let’s go.
Back it turns to the window
Back it climbs
Back to my bed where it rests its head.
For the road in front of me leads to a window
The window’s opened by another reckless soul
Their cells dying as they wish to do themselves
In the window I see my reflection.
The great beast I am.
The great beast I’ll create.

I’m cracking my mind
Spilling on the floor
You’re attacking me once more
With a knife
That holds the dictionary
I wish we were ordinary
With a gun
Cocked and loaded
Each bullet molded
With your fist
Rough, soft, and smooth
The weapon I choose
Is you.

Death's doors open on their own
Motion activated
Death doesn't lay traps
Death doesn't play jokes
Death doesn't always win but it never loses
Death is fair
Love's doors you have to have the right key and some times it still won't open
Love is deceiving
Love is cruel
Love will let you think you're ahead of the game but in reality you're right where you started
Love is unjust
It's funny how love is seen as the hero and death the villain
Everyone wants to be dead or in love.

Your features are discrete
But when your face is in the glow of a candle
Darkness shadowing endlessly behind you
Your eyes reflecting the flame
An artist yearns for his paintbrush to capture your moment of beauty
You're average
But when you laugh
A subtle giggle
Maybe a little chuckle
The precise pitches ringing in my ears like chimes on a windy day
A musician becomes jealous that he can't make such a wonderful sound
You're very busy
But you take a deep breath as everything is piled up
You look so calm especially for just breathing
I breath everyday and I will never look as peaceful as the sunset peaking below the earth
Every worker and every student wishes they had that calmness you possess
Your job is dull during the day
But in the morning you make cooking scrambled eggs look graceful
as you dance and sway to the radio
In the morning you seem fresh and new
Everyone wants your positivity
At night your tired
But when your tired your eyes get heavy and I love to watch you drift away into a land of dreams
In my dreams all I see is you
As you sleep I hope you dream the same as me and love yourself as much as I love you.

I named him darkness.
You wouldn't know him.
He is the only friend I have
He holds me and comforts me
He tells me what I want to hear
I named him darkness.
He only comes out at night
He is the only enemy I have
He comes at the worst times
He cuts away at me
I named him darkness
It’s fitting
He’s only in my head
He only hurts me
He only haunts me
I named him darkness
I need him
He’s the flame to my gasoline
He’s the raging saw to my branches
He’s the only thing I can love
I named him darkness
I named him

Nights like this
Nights where the air is thick
Nights when the sky is blue and there are gray clouds
Nights where your eyes are heavy
Weighing down your soul.
Nights like this
Nights where your face is dry but you're crying
Nights when the loud is silent
Nights where you’re melting
Into thoughts.

I consider myself colorblind
No, I can see perfectly fine.
My true colors I hope you find.
I can see red and blues combined
I can see the green of the tree line
But I consider myself colorblind.
Times can't rewind
You and I are equal, bottom line
My true colors I hope you find.
I can see the rainbows aligned
Hell! I can see the gold dollar sign!
But I consider myself colorblind.
All I mean is to be kind.
Life isn't a ladder it’s a vine.
My true colors I hope you find
Open up your mind
All these colors are divine.
But I consider myself colorblind
My true colors I hope you’ll find.
