He let his guard down recently the feelings would not stop jackals were circling as the frozen prey whimpered helplessly He rushed to restore the guarded wall which protected him for so long Some would say he was a coward while those protected would champion his resolve

Guard Down
Leaves are falling everywhere this wintry day just like my hope of you returning a glorious past the sun burning bright an enduring love you said it would last forever I had no reason to doubt leavings falling fast hope I see you again

Within Earshot
Thank you for following me I read your poems just now they opened my heart like a rusty gate swung open by a wild gush of wind I can't explain the tears they fall by happenstance like some clouded mystery found in stilted dreams that come at night but are never fully explained the ones that haunt or dazzle you while you sleepwalk during the light What an opportunity to live both day and night I see all the potential in this moment and feel very blessed

The Void
I started feeling the other night it was like a stranger visiting I tried to ignore him but I was overwhelmed by the tears and now I have to admit it was good to see my old dear friend

Surprised
I used to be a poet always straining to fit words into the puzzle so you would notice my world unfolding but late one night some time ago I gave it all up and now I am painting quite outside the lines and I hope you can still see the beauty it is everywhere

Transition
There is no way I would see you again your inattentiveness and insensitivity are appalling If I had wanted a companion like you I would have taken a stroll through a graveyard.

No Way
Cold marbled sky numbs the pain we carry on nameless streets where tight-lipped strangers curse each step they take and legless cripples hold out torn paper cups so close to our lips that we become intoxicated with the suffering oozing from their presence.

I have been a soldier since early time, my sword concealed in passing but, you, saw my hidden wounds and cleansed them with your caring.
