Ah DND, the wondrous world of fiction
While that may be nice for you
My favorite DND is do not disturb
That way when I don't get a response, it doesn't hurt as much
I haven't published in so long
I haven't texted in so long
I haven't been
I haven't done
Do not disturb
Mute everything
No one responds anyhow
Or reaches out
Well, of course when they need something
I was about to send you a song
And while I may not have self worth
I know you WONT be worth my time, or anyone else's
So I wrote this instead
And Alyssa if you're reading this
**** you.
You aren't reading this
You aren't doing anything you want to
Other than make me hate you
So it " hurts less "
What a mess
With no one to clean it up
Who in the hell is moving our game pieces
We need someone new
I need someone that isn't you.
P.S. This wasn't right

hearing your voice
and hearing your name
brings back the pain
of what was yesterday
i found your coffee stained shirt
hidden deep in my drawers
and it brought back all those memories
of us at the corner cafe
and days where we’d sit along the bay
and count the stars
as we’d name them after our dreams
these days i find myself
trying to let the time heal eventually
all our memories
all our history
and all you meant to me

her eyes looked liked oceans were trapped there:
stormy and tortured
beautiful and captivating.
her was like ribbons running down her face:
smooth and flowing
stunning and graceful.
her smile was like flowers blooming in the Spring:
sweet and adorable
amazing and loved.
everything about her was lightning:
scary and sharp
intriguing and electric.

We stole the night together
Held together by a tether
Telling stories as we went
With a list of movies we had to rent
We played with each other's hair
A quite inseparable pair
We shared all our troubles
Promising we'd be doubles
And we'd bolster each other's souls
Until our hearts burned down to coals
But
Then we drifted and we struggled
Battling demons that left us puzzled
Until we realized
They're easier to fight together
Than alone
-hopefully your best friend

She drew happy faces all over my arms.
She drew smiley faces over my scars.
She showed me with ink and blue marks,
the answer is a pen, not a blade, to make art.

i'm just a small boy staring at a dead tree in the rain
looking up
wondering why love won't grow

they say we are
wrong
but when I'm with you
everything feels more
right
than ever before.

You told me that you used to be a king.
You showed me your crown but it was only a pile of ashes.
You showed me a history book, from an abandoned library, with your story ripped out from the seams.
I traced the edges of the pages and felt your past on the end of my fingertips.
I know it's been so long but the thought still brings you to your knees.
You said you had to watch the sky fall for hours and hours and hours that evening.
You were so close to the stars, and you told me how you used to talk to them during the night.
You used to live with them, you told me.
Everyone thought you were crazy but I could see in your eyes, they were family.
But you witnessed their deaths.
Wings couldn't help you
gravity has betrayed you.
It's time to stop holding your breath and just let it fall out.
Sweetness sings a lullaby you forbid to listen to.
You believe that nothing will ever be as sweet as your past.
No love can replace, for you lost all your brothers and sisters that night
so you have nothing to lose.
No secrets,
no family
just you.

Pick yourself up and dust off your shoulders
because you're a soldier and have no time to rest.
You can't escape this life because you sold your soul for this
and in the next year, you'll be buried right under your feet, six feet deep.
Will it be your hell?
Tied up alone surrounded by nothing but chains
for years and years.
Calling out to empty shadows and swallowing dust over these times.
Will it be your heaven?
In the summer of ninety-six
with the night lite up with fireworks on the fourth.
Chasing the sparks because you're a child again.
Pick your feet up and march to the drums of your family.
You promised to always protect your family
and this is all you know to do.
Giving up your life for your brother's
is what you were trained to do.
Your heart is weak but warm.
But you will not be needing it for long.
You find peace in the night
but always keep a candle lit,
to keep an eye on your brother
because he is all there is.
Things can't be rewritten or reversed.
You've just got a confused mind
and acted out of grief.
But you're always able to rewind to the night
a bullet took your brother.
These lifeforms made a deal for you, that they knew you'd take.
They could care less about your feelings.
They could **** without warning,
but you trust them with your brother's life on this one.
So now you stand a man with a deal to die
but it's all worth it because now your brother can live.
Selling your life so he can have his back was the best birthday present
you could give.
