American I strive to create art in everything I do. My main focus is film but I love the movement of music paint drying on an old canvas. Love surrounds us and we shall let it be our banner.
There was this moment and this moment was not like any other In this moment, we became eternal Like a stranger I fell upon this awakened feeling of longing Longing to shake my feathers free and fly But I clipped my wings long ago and the feathers sit at the bottom of the cage Wasted delight in the stoppage of flight So here I am, vulnerable and the cage within my cage, the bones rattle out of place, finding refuge in the lost spaces of my soul I believe in the blindness of fear, leading me into uncertainty I placed my faith in the cathedral in my heart Brick, stone, and stained glass, my frightful temple crumbled to dust Let the rain flow and the mud sift through and I rebuilt that church of blood and bone to a finite state There you came into this church a flower that has bloomed brighter than the rest Your colors squeeze life from nothing and breathe into me I'm a patchwork of failures and regret but there is a work of art that calls to me Hammer the nails into the body and lift like a prayer to the sky It's a terrible thing to waste the sunlight always breaks the day And the past isn't going anywhere, but this moment is who we are So let's live Let's love Let's fight Let's fail Let's fall Let's wander Let's forget Let's remember Let's live by the beauty that frees us When this testament surrounds you, I'll be waiting in this church Of wine and celebration Because we have a life and let us bring it to the end and hand it to the next person and say, "I didn't waste mine, Now it's your turn." So won't you dance in the mud with me and sing in the night, I will cover you and never let go.

What is scorn but a broken back that has to lift the world? An arrow bent, scraping through the air never to hits it's target? I am one, but a crying soul to lift above my shoulders what my back could not. What is love to bring us peace? Is it the toil tossed beneath our feet, trampled and torn? Or does it live here within us, ready to swell and overflow to the empty spaces that lay void? Bring me silence in the screeching night. In the stillness I hear the earth wake and breathe. I can feel the mountains shake as they stretch their rocks causing crashing avalanches of unwanted worry to the ground. Let us break our ribs open to allow more room for love to rest inside. Pack it in tightly, not letting any to spill out onto the floor and if it does spill, let it overflow from our mouths and lips to each person we see. Speaking truth and peace to each one for they are just like us. Lost in a unpredictable world. Afraid of the drifting current that pushes us from one place to the next. Consistency isn't consistent with me and I want no part of conformity to live within me. I am a prayer. I am a song. A dance and a battle cry. I am a thousand trees never thirsty, for growth comes naturally and loneliness is just a disease and finally we found the cure: To love yourself fully and completely and never look behind you. For it is behind that haunts but the future welcomes. So step boldly into the traveling circus of life that never stops running, and the freak show is the main attraction because freaks like you and me, We're going to change the world.

I have a love that carried me. It plucked me and stood me upright. I wanted to stand tall, be a mighty tree never to be struck from the ground. You were always there, like a rope tied tight around my ankle causing me to stand still. Well I never wanted to leave. Look behind and see all the beautiful colors we were made to bloom into. I was red and you were blue. Like paint on a canvas we blend together but mine hasn't dried yet. Strip the unnecessary and become works of art. Vibrant and true we bleed down the thick white canvas creating this mess of paint. A mess so right that it became everything we needed. I hit my strings, you raise your voice ringing around my mind to a new melody. Don't you forget, Life springs from the ground. I took every word you spoke, wrote in on my skin dyed ink in blood. Let's sing a new song Fit the words to our hearts and breathe beauty into the world. Let us dance together. Stomping feet to the ground and waking the dead bones to rise. Let's take a train round the world seeing the nuance of life. New grass, new leaves, new waters and a new beginning. That love I carried, exists and claims no exit.

The Love I Carry
You only step foot in the same river once, It always rushes through, new water with new life. The freshness and purity cleanses my soul sifting through, touching every part of me. I was naive when I thought this would be easy That when I dipped my feet in for the first time, it wouldn't last. I drained every drop out leaving no air for us to breathe. And I can no longer breathe. I strained for newness and tranquility in silence Listening to your breathe, feeling your heart. We flew on comets and every night I came back down wondering where I left my body. You were right there to collect my pieces that were left on the floor. Swinging side to side there were times our fire danced, Lighting up the sky brighter than any sun or moon. Perfection can only be measured by flaws, And growing takes time. Well I have the time. I wanted to burn bright like lightning bugs in the night sky, Instead I was swiftly blown out by my own ghost Who was watching my every move. I felt like cloth on the floor, just waiting to be made into a garment to wear. Dark blue always looked so good on you. So when I stepped into the river I never wanted to leave. The constant flow hitting my feet feeling safe and complete Always wanting more. More. That 's the problem. Trains passing by, hauling seats of bones to their next home Rattles at each shake of the rails. I feel the shake. It courses through my body reminding me I have not yet made a home for myself. Watching and waiting I have seen others cross paths to their content lives And I sit splintering at the thought of leaving. Movement becomes shallow and feeling becomes another word to describe pain. Pain is real and it lives within me, never letting my head fall to rest and my eyes to see the beauty in front of me. Soaking now, I wait in this river. Waiting to dance one last time. The dance with the fire in our eyes and truth wrapped around our wrists. I'll become a constant like a thread that never unravels And I'll never cut the string. So let's move along and shape to the river as it takes us, You one way and me the other. As it splits into two I press my life forward with love in my heart and strength on my chest. Until the day the river becomes an ocean of wholeness, I lay my path flowing in front of me. To bring the fear I feel and cast it from me. Crush it under stones at the bottom of the water never letting loose again. I felt free as it carries me, baptizing me to be renewed again. I'll close my eyes and be still, finding the sounds of your voice one last time. It echoes and calls back to me anytime I need. Currents pull me along, away from the shore where I stood. Goodbye My love, For wherever there is a river, there is you And wherever there is music, I'll hear you. Where the paints drip, and the trees grow I'll see you. And where the waters meet, I'll swim to you.

My passion looks like a sun ready to rise Spreading every inch of itself for the world to feel It's a passion that is fearful and scared Afraid to fall beside itself To be covered underneath the brush of fate and destiny If I have to be honest, my passion runs through my veins and courses with love It becomes apart of me on a wide road ready to breathe new air It reaches arms high steady to like redwoods It causes me to see, to feel, and live

My Passion Looks Like...
I left the road to see the center in your eyes They reflect the past and every part of me This tangled a twist spinning towards the sky Just enough to touch the heavens and it was radiant Brilliantly Radiant. I saw the look you gave when your soul got trapped between your ribs, Feigning rhythms and heartbeats set the tone Bitter cold snipping at my spine and digging out my breath And I never want to let go. This may have been an awkward dance fitting to the tune Skipping the steps to the future that lies ahead but the past is just a place In this moment we were still. Brilliantly Still. Calm nights seize into silent mornings where the birds wake to the sight of the sun And we wake to the sound of their song They have no need to worry, only the breath in their beak that forms into music The leaves flow to the wind and the train passes with soothing horns "Shhh..... Listen." I'll pluck the chords and change the melody so that the horns never stop Your ears, pinned to the window letting them slowly drift you to sleep Playing back all the subtle notes that fall from the engine to the tracks tumbling with consequence And I prefer to the solemn pacing of forever but I don't believe in time and in this moment we are infinite. Brilliantly Infinite.

Time is an Illusion
I sat in the middle Between broken words and filthy roads, not knowing which one to take. My eyes abandoned me, waiting for the world to make a scene To laugh louder or cry harder than any other and I did both. Tip-toe to the tattered fabric That rips at the seam. But you were always there. You were always there like a shadow on a sunny day Copying my every move just so I could see you. Then the sun slowly drops beneath the sky As do you, my shadow close behind.
