I thought you said you'd never forget me, I thought you said you'd always love me. You told me that night I was yours forever. I thought you promised to be there, To hold me when I'm down. I thought you said you cared. You said you would never leave me, I thought you told me the truth, But as things come to surface, I was stupid to believe in you.

Anaphora
the night came to me in a blur of color. the people dripping with sweat, the air is fills with smoke, and the scent of old mahogany inhabits my shirt. the room spins as the liquid burns my throat. the music booms in waves through the thick atmosphere. cups scatter over the marble floor, like leaves on a fall day. my head becomes heavy, but my body moves to the beat.
