I twirled with the Devil to watch You get jealous And With his final Bow I knew we Had finally learned To Dance

Squaring Off
There weren't a ton of places I even wanted to be - so I figured right here was fine. Frightened, yes. You were still strange to me - despite your lips being just the ones I needed to find. The rocking didn't stop, the lights were unkind, and I thought how much better it would have been to stay til the end of the party and walk to the train and wait til morning for Jersey.

Sun rays are the triumph of the cold and nowhere night. A reward of peace - not touched - Turn on the light.

I see now that you too appreciate the one cent rituals - the ones never to amount to much , but take away an inevitable alone.

One Cent Rituals
Days I wake, wanting to be your wife- take your clothes from the floor, throw away your old food, tell you I've got things to do as I kiss you good-bye, tip-toed, while you fix your top button and I reach, arms bent, to your shoulders and wait til you're done with that **** button so you can wrap two hands round my waist to humor me with an open eyed peck to the side of wanton lips.
