A moment in time and space where two people are connected in a sacred way
Honouring each other
Listening to each other
Feeling what the other person is feeling
Eye contact
A non-verbal permission that lets the other person know that they are welcomed into ones world

And suddenly
Here I was
In the concrete jungle
Surrounded by prada totting hyenas
And cologne soaked pumas
Immersed in their talk boxes
Making enough noise to wake up a hibernating bear
And there I was
In the midst of the chaos
A scared and lost kitten
Over stimulated by the screeches and smells
And roaring machinery
Yearning to be back in the woods
Back to the silence
Where you can faintly hear the flowers blooming and the bees buzzing
But here I am
In the concrete jungle
Learning to love the prada totting hyenas
And cologne soaked pumas
Learning to be grateful
For the silence that I endure once in a while
The concrete jungle
My home
My new adventure
A kitten who is turning into a lioness.

Thank you.
Thank you for bringing out the person in me in which I do not want to be
For letting me see that dark side of me that was hidden from my attention
Because of you I can now sit with that version of myself that I do NOT wish to be
I can now recognize these characteristics in me and dismiss them out of my being
Thank you for showing me that I, at times, can be totally out of touch with reality
My daydreaming and fantastical illusions inhibited me from seeing the truth
That you and I were like oil and water
If mixed hard enough we would mix together and at first glance look to be as one
But in the end we were always separate, always a short distance away
