The difference is like the slow bloom of dawn versus switching on a floodlight, in perpetual darkness.
... and it is never enough.
Trying! Desperate to stave off withdrawal of happiness.
Being happy, if it occurs at all, is increasingly short lived.

Incentives make a mockery of free will,
For we don't have the freedom to choose what we're paid to do.
A stoic attitude can't make a sour drink any sweeter.
The most troubling and the most inevitable fact of life.
Tomorrow I'll be weaker and frailer than today, and so on until oblivion.
If the future is just repetition, why try to create a better one?
God created a perfect world.
Sin made a free world rather than a perfect one.
The evils in our world, both human and natural, are a consequence of this freedom.
The freedom of conscious entities requires the freedom of particles.
