Brought back again To that day… Bermuda, Brittle against my bones But cool And yellow And white And solid To hold me down. Even then I knew I would Come back again… Brought back again By that color. That smell. The texture And breeze Of that blue October afternoon When time went Slow… And strange… And still.

Inverted, Twisted, Watching from Inside – out… The bars became Rigid with Surprising speed And Stillness. Daring now… Only rarely, To Finger free air… But never, Never, Too close To the door.
