Putting a dagger through your heart
and giving her the hilt to twist and push at will
that's what love feels like.
So why did I do it?
because you turn my world upside down
on any day turning my lonely frowns into bright smiles
and my bright smiles to brighter laughs.

and no matter what you do,

Despair came crashing in like waves during a storm
Rage ignited in him like fire on dead driftwood
She was everything he wasn't
And it infuriated him for everything that he was
but that was okay
because for the first time in his life
he was finally feeling emotions
and he adored her for it.

I wish I could help, I really do
but I can't if I don't know why you're so blue
So I'll go ahead and jump in the dark
I mean I'd do anything just to see you at the park
Every time you're about to leave, my mind yells stay
but I know if I do I won't see you the next day
So I hold my tongue even though it stings
every time you say bye my whole heart rings
But do not worry I'll be here to hug you
I just hope with all my heart you will too.

Most times I do things to get people's attention
don't we all?
Sometimes I like to think that I write these for myself
but deep down
I want to know that at least someone out there
whether friend or foe
from high or low
reads my poems
am I the only one?

my heart was burning
but my body wouldn't move
my mind was racing
but I couldn't make a sound
my world was crumbling
but the sky seemed fine
my head was falling
but I was standing just fine
and that's when I realized you were the one
and so I drowned in sadness
because before I knew it
you were already gone.

As I stare at the sunset reflecting in her eyes
I realize they weren't just brown,
They were a mix of amber and gold,
They shone with complexity and wonder,
It was then, where my heart began to burn
For she was a star I could never have,
And I was an ocean she could never hold.
