the sun and stars are beginning to remember
and the moon became my bride who was afraid
when i kissed her she said
i know that you cannot be forgiven
but still she forgave

Summer time
I sit by the screen door
You see me looking out, I don't see you looking in
The heat makes my nose bleed

A girl with blonde hair and brown skin cries in an empty parking lot
The Uber ride home is three dollars too much
And the Shell station would be her only salvation

****** noses in bathroom stalls
Barefoot running frantically under street lights
Best friends becoming lovers
Boyfriends becoming worst nightmares
Belonging to something but not somebody
Barely lit and claustrophobic
Bodies in a smoke filled room
Breathing in but not exhaling
Back row of the auditorium

Love is something the cosmos, even in their infinite wisdom cannot fathom.
Love is the bleeding periwinkle of twilight.
A moment; fleeting and seemingly unattainable.
An ache so embedded within your consciousness no amount of togetherness can subdue it.
Romeo and Juliet know that ache.
But could even they understand what it's like to see the heavens in the eyes of another?
