22 Gideon Ezenne is a poet reclaiming his voice after a decade-long digital hiatus. Finding rhythm in the "not black but blue" silence of the night, his work explores healing, nature, and the primal resonance of the soul. Writing from Nigeria.
There was a night, not black but blue, Where stars aligned and the clouds were due, The trees swayed where the wind blew, And dust rose up though they were few. There was a night, not black but blue, When Darkness fled under the silver Moon, She shone her light so lovingly, That the children danced, even Me. There was a night not black but blue, The sky was vast and beautiful, The Moon flickered as she blinked at Me, A whole new friend, just for Me.
