The future
What will it hold
Will it be what everyone is told
Of a future so bright
It’s what we wish for on a stormy night
Of a handsome husband or beautiful wife
Of kids
Oh, shall we live
In a future so bright
Or will it be what keeps us up at night
Living all alone
No one to call our own
What gloomy future might we own
No cell phone
No kids
Nor will to live
No friends
We’ll be alone in the end
But the future will come
And the past will be
The only thing we can change
