I cannot say exactly what love is. Neither can any human poet on earth. Yet many have tried and still more will try. They string together moments they felt it; moments it grazed their hearts as it passed. Or times love was seen, just out of their reach. Sightings of love, that made them stop and think. Some may live thinking love is a feeling. But Jesus Christ shows something less fleeting. He came down to earth, took on human life. Took every rejection starting from birth. Suffered in a world that chose sin each time. Never changed his choice - to for this world die; chose each beating while being crucified. Love is patient - given when patience is wearing still thinner, when waiting is pain. Love is kind - given when the feelings of others would be easier ignored. It does not envy - its given in lack, in times of thirst while watching others drown. If easy, its natural reflex - not love. Love goes against survival, against pride. It is not "you would do the same for me." Its no strings attached, no expectation. 1 Corinthians 13 versus 3: If I give to the poor all that I have, but not out of love, then I gain nothing... Shows us that love is still more than action. 1 John 4 verse 7 shows where love comes from. God, who is love, is indeed love's origin. Not one has ever gazed upon God, but know that if we love, he lives in us. Whoever lives in love lives in God too. He gives us his love, his power to share. The living God moves in our love and care. I can't define love, but I can say this... Love cannot be given in human strength. If you have met love, it was from above. You are gifted love to share to others, the moment your heart lets in Christ Jesus. If you have this, know the power within. If you do not yet, then call on his name.

What beautiful eyes he did have. Eyes that did not scream 'Insanity!' Eyes that whispered 'You're heard, you're seen.' Eyes that said 'Where you are, I've been.'

Godsend
I don't open-up about my past self. But I do speak hours about God above. And I will wait here to point to the cross. My are arms open to those feeling lost. My failures only reflecting his work; never a place where I choose to return.

In The Now, Not Then
This work in me Lord, reflects only you. Lord you take the old heart and make it new. I once was a shell of a human being - spiritually dead, needing redeeming. You revealed yourself, knocking at my heart. Gave me faith in your overflowing grace. You instilled in me your holy spirit. Your great love ended that once-endless pit. I was unable to love on my own. Now I love freely, to make your love known. Trusting in your grace, every need sufficed. Power at work that resurrected Christ!

Because He First Loved Us
You made me feel alive, but now I cannot rest. The world would say I thrived, my soul cannot attest. Traded my peace for an edge to get ahead.

Caffeine
Burning envy once occupied my mind. Her sweet reflection captured in these eyes. Her perfected waist, her porcelain face. Yet I never stopped to look past her skin; to see her heart and the state it was in - picture walking in her shoes until thin. All I envied was my own jealousy. I wished just for the way I looked at her, to be the way they looked at me.

Chasing after the wind
It is a fine line Oh God. I once bottled up myself; created a version for the shelf. I envied the stoic men, this babbling mouth couldn't contend. I put a cork in the end. I practised playing pretend. Then it all came crashing down. Blew my face into a frown. Depression gripped my thoughts, oh the lessons that it taught. I had to open these doors, give my heart a chance to thaw. But while a moth in shadow yearns, for the tender lamp's touch. See, vulnerability burns. It can leave a soul in ruins.

Thank you Lord for love and for light. For filling me with yield and fight. For turning pieces to peace once more. Oh Lord, the things you have in store.

Living Water
Lord as far as the East is from the West, remove this anxiety from my chest. Forgive me for turning my eyes away, forgetting this storm is not mine to face.

Thy Will Be Done
I miss my microwave, no not the steamy food. I miss the company, the girl who fixed my mood. Her door was straight across, ready to burst open. She's just a call away... The words to be spoken!
