18 Heyy welcome to my page! I'm just your average Joe trying to make sense of life. The poems that are written down here are translated from Dutch, my native language.
In a field of grain there stands the tree, alone He watches the farmer sow the grain and mow it down again Time and again the tree remains, alone He sees the sun rise and the stars sing praise to the moon Time and again, in all weather The tree sighs - he might as well be air Not a soul who honours his shade, though he faithfully shields the ground from the sun The tree's branches crack with sorrow - who has ever not left him? The grain tries to console him, but the tree knows: grain never stays Grain scatters its seeds upon the wind and one can hear their song of life carry far, until the farmer plants his new harvest The tree sighs and lets his leaves fall when winter's cold reaches the halls of man Beneath thick bark the tree tucks away his hope as the landscape fades and pales The bare tree creaks; with grief as the hollow that takes hold, he enters spring A bird comes flying in It is a woodpecker, fighting her way through the canopy She lands, sits in the hollow, and is gone again She flies back and forth - hollow, ground, hollow, ground - and all at once She fills the hollow with a nest The tree cannot contain his rapture; this woodpecker he will praise for all eternity And green buds burst forth for the woodpecker who sings so beautifully There they clatter and creak, filling one another with love

The tree
when the lies fall from the sky the air fills with rockets and hellfire then clouds and crowds are the cannonfodder for the crows WHEN YOU DIE YOU LEAVE THIS EARTHLY REALM NEVER TO RETURN when the screams drown out the blood slips through the seems of your clothes then embrace the numbness and leave your last breath on the floor

Dead city
Remember those forests that once adorned our Earth— cut down now in the name of development. Remember those ponds that once stored rainwater for us— filled up now to build new buildings. Remember those huge roadside trees whose shade once protected us from the sun— cut down now to broaden the roads.

I build castles of sand and clay Time and again Again and again I build castles of sand And you trample them, you topple them down I build castles of sand Open my gates, lower the drawbridge Again and again Time and again Do you trample them, do you topple them down? I build castles of sand This is the last time The last drop in a sea of tears I gather the shards of a broken heart Time and again Again and again I build castles of granite This time you will not come But nothing and no one Will find me in this emptiness I dwell in my castles of granite I glue the shards together You steal the glue Forever I remain broken I raise the drawbridge And fill the moat With the grief and the tears of loneliness

Castles of Sand
I'm panicking everything is starting to catch up to me and I'm not sure I am even slow enough to let it pass me by I certainly can't outrun it but I might as well try to live a little longer, please, I'm so close to getting better but I'm panicking

When time collides with space and the endless universe can be summed up in one verse When neurons fire and your skin gets goose bumps When every fiber of my being is trying to hold on to yours and the sounds drown out When my arms wrap around your waist and pull you in for a kiss
