I hate fake people, You can be fake for a second, Fake for a minute, Fake for a threepenny bit, You can smile and wave, Or grimace and behave, You can act friendly, While acknowledging plenty, You can be easily led, Hungry but never fed, Or feast on a fine meal, From a chef who steals, You can float on cloud nine, As onlookers decide, That you are not worthy; It's a logic that's topsy turvy, You can be well behaved, But this means you are enslaved, You can try your best, In a suicide vest, You can miss the point, And be a prince we'll anoint, You can think only of you, And forget all but a few, You can grin and praise, From a self-centred malaise, Or take your life, To make a point to a wife, You can count the days, And dismiss it as a phase, Or disidentify from family, Just to be friends with she, You can care a lot, About what the rat race does not, Or care plenty, For the tune of enemy sentry, Or whistle in a park, As fighting dog's bark, Or disappear completely, Just to prove you are free, Become a rebel without a cause, At a funeral with no applause
