Abyss
Abyss
like many stoutly claim as members of some Christian faith love our neighbors as we love ourselves then why do we look down on those of different creeds and cultures skin color, clothes, or hats suggest to keep them out by building walls, suspect them of barbarian ways, let them drown, put them in camps, build fences, stop them at our borders, prefer in short to have them elsewhere maybe we should love ourselves much more so we can better love the tired, hungry, and the poor who come to our shores and borders in search of safety and shelter, freedom, and human dignity let us remain easy, and truer to the spirit of our Liberty, remembering our heritage and that of our parents and their parents most likely immigrants from somewhere looking for a better place to have a life and rear their children it helps to see our neighbors as our friends rather than enemies and love them like we love ourselves

do we indeed
the other day I occupied a chair at a sidewalk café watching the vanity fair of the quotidian float by in quickly changing apparitions an endless flow of different ages, nations, fashions, skin colors, miens, ****** expressions, postures & gaits kept passing through  my field of vision it made me wonder why some people get so furious when they  just hear about     not even meet     the ‘others’ different from themselves that they start dropping  bombs and shooting rockets I think they rather should be curious and eager to discover how the immense variety of humankind can help expand a locally grown mind and recognize that we are all of the same kind

humankind
they are different     just look at them their skin color  their clothing  their speech their customs   the way they move their bodies we like them as tourists they leave money in our country and then go home again if they buy the house next to us THAT’s different it takes a conscious effort to see them not as aliens     but as our neighbors lest we become aware that all of us are aliens in most countries of our globe

the others
apparently we live in times in which disasters chase each other around the globe in never-ending sequence or is it just the real-time news media hype that gives us this impression? yet even if I generously discard the ****** massacres and crises far away there are enough rough dreadful things that even if they don’t affect me ****** do touch my heart and make me grieve with the afflicted methinks we’re coming near the point when the majority of normal people on our globe will rise an tell fanatics of all creeds to shove it take a shower just go home and let us live our lives in peace !

troubling times
*Scratching for quite some time on this blank white page, my emotions flow shine and glow till the emptiness imbibes my thoughts like raindrops after a drought.*

In the Darkness
We're born with hopeful wonder We're born with tempestuous emotion We try not to get pulled under But get swept up in devotion We get older and chip away Rust in the sinking water Trying to hold onto Maye Always unwillingly slaughter We mutate to an object inhumane Excuse it with "It's in our DNA" Seems like we're all on ******* Have brain damage more every day We **** each other left and right Trying to cope and manage Wrecked brain and no sight We create collateral damage So don't say "I'm only human" Blaming everything except yourself I think it's time you tune in And take the book off the shelf Your eyes are covered by your own hands What is it you fear? It's pathetic and sad You can't see you are your own puppeteer

Humanity, what's that?
Me, a little girl and little words Always seem to say These little lines raw and unheard Will help me get away Into the labyrinth of my mind Trapped in its abyss They all see, but are blind They all  turn and dismiss We all fake smiles Living in a monotone world We all judge, are given trials Not minding that we're unfurled We live in endless denial Thinking everything is fine I slowly taste the bile What is wrong with our minds Being all hypocritical But never admitting Always being so analytical "No, young lady that isn't very fitting" Saying "Yes, I'll change my ways" Only to crawl back again Why this continual craze We must fix our ways and mend Cause if we don't, we'll be what we fear We are in the nightmare, reality Monsters, killers, death, and tears We'll be a living dead society
