Swan of love
Octavian Cocos Feb 2022
Love is a wondrous feeling,
A swan in rapid flight
Across the vault of heaven
When it's serene and bright.

You feel the life is peaceful,
Unending like a stream,
A secret thrilling story,
An everlasting dream.

The happiness surrounds you,
The rainbow shows its face,
The whole world is a splendor,
God pours on you His grace.

But the disgusting shotgun
Is aiming without fail
And the enchanting white swan
Drops dead on the wide trail.

You hug it in an instant,
Your fear you can't withhold,
Try to revive its passion,
But it is stiff and cold.

In vain you weep disheartened
And ****** it a lot,
Of its amazing gliding
Remains only a thought.

My body's made of dust and muddy earth
And yet my soul descended from the sky,
Love's been my mistress from my very birth
And I'll protect it always, till I die.
She's like a down that gathers in a pile,
Because she's sensitive and pure and light,
But if the wind starts blowing for a while,
Then she gets scared and suddenly takes flight.
On our Earth, love is a little shy,
People have lost their meaning and are bad,
They are attached only to things that lie,
Love for some time, and then they all get mad.
But I respect my mistress, she's sublime,
I'll be her slave until the end of time.

An ode to woman
Octavian Cocos May 2021
You were made from light, in glory,
Not from Adam's rib, my dear,
Like in the fantastic story
That in churches we do hear.

You have always been appealing
From the moment you arose
Because Eve means life and feeling
And this everybody knows.

You're a pillar of creation,
All this world with you began,
And a goddess of salvation,
And the other half of man.

In your absence, man would suffer,
He would matter not at all,
Wouldn't sin and would be tougher,
But his soul would be so small...

At times, it's good to waver for a while,
Be careful, look around, don't stop your quest,
Don't mimic like a child the others style,
But all the time do what you think is best.
And even if the people think they can
To jump into the void and then to fly
It's better to stick always to your plan
Be patient, to be sure before you try.
To always be the first is vain conceit
And life will break you if you are absurd,
But all the sages tell us and repeat:
The truth is never harbored by the herd.
Don't rush, be calm, don't make any mistake
You're not a sheep, so keep your mind awake.

Your eyes
Octavian Cocos May 2021
Your eyes are limpid, as it is the lake
When breeze is gentle and it doesn't shake
And they are as profound as the blue sea
Far in the distance, where the ships feel free.

Your eyes are peaceful, as a lamb asleep
When is surrounded by the flock of sheep
And they are like two gems, precious and bright
And your sweet laughter fills them with delight.

Your eyes are brown like all the bears that roam
In the Carpathian woods, their lovely home,
But they are finer than they use to be
When deep within they mirror only me.

'Twould be best...
Octavian Cocos Nov 2021
'Twould be best if we could perish
While in us there is some light,
Not to live devoid of vigor
Till the soul, detached, takes flight.

'Twould be best if we could perish
While we speak with our eyes,
Not to have a frozen vision
And a chilly heart that sighs.

'Twould be best if we could perish
While we're human, because thus,
We won't see our weary children
Crying when attending us.

'Twould be best if we could alter
The grim future from the sky
And to chose with our thinking
When it's good for us to die.

Love is simple
Octavian Cocos Jun 2021
I haven't been the worthiest of men,
The wisest or the holiest of all,
I haven't been majestic, now and then,
But I have loved you and you can recall.

I haven't been a king or a bold knight,
I haven't had a fortune to defend,
But we have stayed together, day and night
And I have been your priceless loving friend.

It hasn't been my lot to be refined,
I haven't spoken trying to look smart,
But all the words that ever crossed my mind
I've always uttered from my very heart.

I've never been a scientist, for sure,
Or an inventor making a breakthrough,
But I have been good-natured and mature
And with my love I have surrounded you.
Octavian Cocos May 2022
I want, to be able pure poems to write,
To sleep near the sky like star gazers at night,
To dream near the belfries, enchanted and filled
By their solemn anthems diffused by the wind.
With chin cupped in hands from my attic to see
The workshop which chatters and sings and feels free;
The chimneys, the steeples, these masts of the town,
The skies making people in fancy to drown.

How nice is to see through the mists a star bright
And a lamp at the window, burning still in the night,
The rivers of coal rising up in the air,
The moon pouring down its pale charm everywhere.
The summers and autumns will quietly go;
When winter arrives with its white and dull snow
I'll close all the doors and pull down the blind
And build lofty castles at night in my mind.
I'll dream all the time of blue distant horizons,
Alabaster small fountains which weep in the gardens,
And kisses, and birds, chirping loudly and rife,
The pure love affairs we cherish in life.
The bustle, enticing, at the window will drum,
With my head on the desk, I shall sit still and numb,
For I'll dive in the sea of exquisite delight
Of evoking the spring with my will and my might,
Of bringing the sun near my heart and create
Of my fiery dreams an abode warm and great.

On a ridge so nice,
Nest of Paradise,
Here come in the end,
Down the ***** descend
Three white flocks in queue
And three shepherds, too,
From Moldavia land,
Transylvania land,
And from Vrancea land.
And the second one,
With the Vrancea's son,
Well, they schemed a lot
And devised a plot
At the end of day,
Merciless to slay
The Moldavian guy,
Richer – cant' deny –
For has many sheep,
Which are fair and leap,
Horses trained for ride,
And dogs full of pride.
But that ewe, so cool,
With a gray-white wool
Three days in a row
Spoke in a voice low,
And walked to and fro.
– O, gray little ewe
And with white wool, too,
Three days in a row
Spoke in a voice low!
Doesn't the grass grow
Or you're feeling blue,
My beloved ewe?
– O, my shepherd dear,
Bring your sheep down here
Near the woods today
Where we have much hay,
In the shade you'll stay.
Master, hear my clue,
Call a dog to you,
Bold and of good breed,
True to you, indeed,
For when night is near,
They will **** you, dear,
The Vrancea's mean son
And the other one!
–  My ewe with meek eyes
If you are so wise
When you see me dead
On a foxtail bed,
Tell the Vrancea's son
And the other one
To dig me a tomb
In this pasture's womb,
Near the pen for sheep
To bury me deep;
Or behind the logs
To hear all my dogs.
Tell them what I say,
Near my head then lay
A pipe made of beech
Its nice song to reach,
A pipe made of bone,
With a doleful tone;
A pipe thin and real,
Which plays with much zeal!
Wind will sweep the grass
And through them will pass
All the sheep will flee
Here to cry for me
Shedding tears a sea!
If I'm killed, don't run,
But tell everyone
I married one day
A queen far away,
The world's bride, I'd say;
At my wedding, tell
That a bright star fell;
That the moon and sun
Held my wreath for fun.
Firs and oaks with nests
Were my lovely guests,
Priests, the mounts with herds,
Fiddlers, the wild birds,
Birdies stood to watch,
Stars shone like a torch!
And I'm asking thee
If one day you see
Old mom feeling down,
With a belted gown
Crying in despair,
Asking everywhere,
Shouting in the air:
"People full of joy
Who has seen my boy
Shepherd proud and dear,
Slim and without fear?
His face soft as silk
And as white as milk;
His moustache so sweet,
Yellow ear of wheat;
His hair combed with skill
Black like raven's quill;
His eyes deep and droll,
Two pieces of coal?”
You, my dearest sheep,
Pity her and weep
Then tell her somehow
That I'm married now
To a young queen nice,
There, in Paradise,
But don't give detail
To that mother frail,
That on wedding night
A star lost its light
Firs and oaks with nests
Were my lovely guests,
Priests, the mounts with herds,
Fiddlers, the wild birds,
Birdies stood to watch,
Stars shone like a torch!

Gloomy atmosphere
Octavian Cocos May 2021
Outside it's raining, I'm in agony
Because it's cold and I can stand no more
And while I'm gazing from my balcony
I feel I'm dead already in my core.

The sidewalks look as if they're cast in lead
The people slowly pass along the gates,
They drag their feet and all appear half-dead,
The wind has frozen solid their traits.

All cars seem ugly, obsolete and gray
A wretched tram slides lazily on rails
The atmosphere is gloomy and decay
Creeps in my room where darkness now prevails.

Octavian Cocos May 2022
Why did you leave so quickly, my dear mom,
You should have waited for your son to come;
An hour more, to hold your hand and try
To make you smile and then to say good bye.
And yet, an hour could have been too long
When the desire of your soul was strong
To rise up in the air like a balloon,
And I was sad you had to go so soon.

I long for you, a year has passed since then,
I thought one day you would be back again,
But it's in vain, we'll never get in touch,
Nevertheless, I love you very much,
And of your face, so beautiful and dear,
I've made a holy icon to revere.

Heals all the broken hearts, bestows delight,
And turns the pitch-black darkness into light.
Smiles every day and gaily plays her role,
(In this sad world she is a happy soul)
Behaves like a great queen, her mind is free,
And always works with pleasure, like a bee.
She's prudent, knows to give a sweet reply,
With her good deeds makes fortune in the sky,
Her heart is peaceful, void of all deceit,
For faith is her impregnable retreat.
She's loving, loyal, trustworthy and hot,
Her household is a safe and pleasant spot,
Defends the marriage, keeps alive its flame...
I'd like to be the equal of that dame.

Take my dullness nice and slow
With your arm covered with snow,
Take the sadness from my chest,
The disquiet, the unrest,
Take my ****** malignity,
All the spite and vanity,
The unbridled speech I've had,
My behavior rude and bad...
With your reindeers, on your track,
Take some winters off my back,
To extol you night and day

Hamada desert
Octavian Cocos May 2021
In this part of the world the land is dry
The lack of rainfall makes you go insane,
The mountain tops rise high into the sky
And the gray clouds attack the ridge in vain.

The wind removes the sand, leaving behind
A lot of stones, which from the ground protrude;
This type of desert is unique in kind
And I am walking in a pensive mood.

From time to time, a blade of grass sticks out
Looking so lost in this deserted space,
But even though it feels the heat and drought
It doesn't care and shows a happy face.

Up in the sky, the sun is red and hot
The flames emerging from its burning core
Now hit the Earth with a terrific shot
And scorch the desert surface more and more.

But when you think you're lost and pray on knees
Because it seems that you can't make it through
An oasis with fresh water and palm trees
Appears in front of you out of the blue.

With the greatest zeal.

If I were an angel

With my holy eye.

Yet, I'm just a plain man
With an honest view,

But to care for you.

Night is falling
Octavian Cocos Jun 2021
Night is falling.
Long shadows cover us as like a velvet cloak,
Hiding us from the prying eyes of the passersby,
While the playful wind ruffles your disheveled hair,
Which falls in waves on your white marble shoulders.

Night is falling.
The Danube crawls quietly at our feet,
Tired of this endless pilgrimage,
And your thoughts flow with it to distant horizons,
Where the blue sky kisses the gloomy sea.

Night is falling.
Everything around is quiet and calm,
For the world is tired of so much turmoil,
Of so much labor, of so much pain, of so much hope,
And is getting ready for the holy and well deserved rest.

Night is falling.
Suddenly, your heart starts to beat faster,
Maybe out of fear, out of amazement or out of delight,
And I sit and listen to it petrified with emotion,
Fearing that it might come out of your chest.

Now it's night.
We have remained in the same place, side by side,
Nailed to the ground like deep-rooted trees,
But our pure souls, which are full of happiness,
Hug impetuously and rise hastily to the stars.

Seven notes
Octavian Cocos May 2021
Seven notes, like seven lords,
Sometimes written on a stave,
Come out of the vocal chords
And flow like a charming wave.

Seven notes that cheer us all
When we listen them aloud
In the air will rise and fall
Always gathered in crowd.

Seven sounds, so sweet and nice,
Tickle gently our ears,
For our lives they're the best spice
And they don't have any peers.

Each of them shines like a star,
And they say, or so it seems,
Our value is by far
Greater when we work in teams.

And I am guarding you with greatest care,
As if you were a china *** placed here,
Which has been worked with skill to look so fair.

I turn and see your tired, pretty face
I stroke your silky hair with pure delight,
You don't wake up, but your heart starts to race
When in your ear I'm whispering, “Good night!”.

You've plunged into the world of dreams you weave
You laugh and cry, and sometimes even speak
I feel like Adam with his lovely Eve
And I can't help but kiss you on the cheek.

I pull the quilt and feel that you agree
I look at you once more in the dim light
I say a prayer both for you and me
And then I fall asleep into the night.

Octavian Cocos May 2021
What a joy, my heart now is beating loud
I can hear your footsteps out into the night,
But it's just the wind blowing from a cloud,
Which spreads all the leaves almost without fight.

Now your voice resounds telling me so clear
Many words of love in a gentle way
But it's just the river, flowing around here,
Which is rather tensed and upset today.

I'm surprised to hear your sweet laugh again
Somewhere in the forest, near the little creek,
But it's just a pecker, seemingly insane,
Hitting all the tree trunks with its steely beak.

Yet, this time I'm sure you are calling me
And your thrilling whispers fill me with delight –
What a disappointment, what else can it be?
Oh, the tiny raindrops falling in the night.

And cultivated fields that please the eye,
And the alluring beauty of the spring,
And all the other seasons, wet or dry,

I watch the eyes, so vivid long ago
When they were filled with gentleness and bliss,
The smiling mouth, with its enchanting glow,
Which spread the love around with just one kiss.

I see the face that once was nice and cool,
Which I admired always with delight,
The dark, long hair, as soft as a black wool,
Which after many years has become white.

I watch the hands that used to have fine skin,
Which tended me with love and which were bold,
I hate to see them bony, weak and thin,
Unfortunate and rigid and so cold.

I wish that God were merciful today,
To think about my mom and about me,
And with five years of life to let me pay
To see her once again as used to be.

The poverty is an appalling thing,
Hard to describe in words too good and kind,
But it is also bad to be a king
And have a needy soul and a poor mind.
Because the world will lose any appeal
You eat and drink and cherish what is dear,
But you forget that Time will turn the wheel
And all your wealth in air will disappear.
So, when you face the Judgment in the end
Weeping and begging mercy on your knees
You will not be permitted to ascend,
Because in life you let your heart to freeze.
Then, it is better that your soul to nurse
Instead of putting money in the purse.

To find the secrets of this world some day,
That's why they strive to play their earthly role

They break the atom into bits and chips
And search the heavens with their active mind
They even go to Space in shining ships,
But the divine first cause they still can't find.
They dive into the oceans and deep seas
And climb on every ridge and snowy peak
They search through bushes and among the trees,

Then comes the Death and lifts their souls above
And thus they lose the secrets of true love.

When his own body loses strength and mass
And has no crave for sexuality
When he forgets about the soft, green grass,

I walk on rusty leaves, which now are dead,
And leave behind the trees scratching the sky
A thousand words are rushing through my head
That lovingly we uttered, you and I.

The leaves are rustling and they seem to crawl
Under my feet, which crush them with their weight
I have no aim, I just want to recall
How blessed we've been by our earthly fate.

Because it didn't give us wealth and fame
Or other things that people do enjoy,
However, it ignited our flame
By sending us a lovely little boy.

And when we're old and gray and without scope
It doesn't matter if he says good bye,
Because, like all the parents, we shall hope
To see him one more time before we die.

A train to nowhere
Octavian Cocos Jun 2021
Maybe I was forgetful, maybe bored,
It's not a bad excuse or a refrain,
But in a station, totally ignored,
I've bought a ticket for this woeful train.

In it, all kinds of people – neat, in rags...
Who try so hard their journey to complete,
With longing feelings, carrying many bags
And all competing for a better seat.

What strain, what spite, what anger, what a wail
What howls, what crying, what a silly pride,
What ugly words, what fighting on the rail,
For everybody wants to see outside.

I watch appalled this strange and foolish show
As if I'm at the theater, in the stalls,
And if I could, I'd do a trick to go,
Far, far away, beyond these lousy walls.

I wish the train would stop its crazy race
At the next station and to turn around,
So as to reach again the starting place,
But it is running forward like a hound.

I beg the fate to make a change somewhere
To move a switch, my state to be restored,
Because this train is heading to nowhere
And I am sorry that I got on board.

Storm is raging strong and cruel
Rain is falling from the sky
Like a fool.

Streaks are flashing all around,
Bright and brisk and very stout,
They are rushing to the ground
And die out.

Thunders roar like guns in night
Spitting fires blue and red,
With the village seem to fight,
Which is scared.

Wind is running wild and free
Blowing all the leaves away,
Knocking down a willow tree
In its way.

It is cold, for hills are near
And it's dark like in a tomb
But it's warm and cosy here
In my room.

Only you and I are here
We are talking, feeling cheery,
And our laugh is loud and clear.

Our nice and happy faces
Will be lighted by the moon.

On our backs now we are lying
And are watching with delight
How two shooting stars are dying
Turning into streaks of light.

Thrilled by their impressive dive
Each of us a wish is making –
Has yours ever come alive?

Because this world has ceased to be your lot

And when I miss you, I shall take a stroll,
Then kneeling down, I'll shudder on the spot,
While watching dearly, craving in my soul,

Tenacity
Octavian Cocos May 2021
Deep hidden in a forest thick and wide
A tiny spider had begun to knit
Its lovely web, feeling so full of pride,
To catch from time to time a fly in it.

When it was done, it thought it did its best,
But afterwards, so tired it became
That felt the need to find the blessed rest
And in its web it huddled without shame.

Next day a squirrel looking for romance,
Who jumped on a green bow with skill and art
Hit with its long and bushy tail by chance
The fine, thin web and tore it all apart.

Watching the trouble helpless and resigned,
Instead of making a great fuss in vain,
The spider, because it is so designed,
Began to weave the fine web once again.

And all day long it worked with might and main
Because it hated to give up and sigh
And if it happened to be torn again
It would repair it without any cry.

Autumn has come

Fall rusty leaves from trees and like a carpet lie
Under my steps they rustle like lovers' longing sigh
Above my head a crane is floating in the sky,
Seeming so lost, because its flock now has gone by.

It's autumn and the park looks desolate and sad
Along a narrow lane a cop is nicely clad,
And I am walking fast like tourists stray and mad
Who a Renaissance painter on canvas soon will add.

A big and gloomy cloud I see is drawing near
And from the sky the rain will fall in waves, I fear,
The sun is slowly setting and soon will disappear,
Because the day is shorter at this time of the year.

A raven on a branch, with feathers long and black
Is watching full of lust the remnants of a snack,
While the majestic lake, which stretches at the back,
Now seems enraged and howls like a gray wolf in pack.

I'm going home, because it's getting late and dark
And suddenly the coolness has fallen on the park
A stray dog in the distance has started now to bark,
Because the autumn's here and summer lost its spark.

Under the clouds, the world is out of sight
With all its worries, suffering and dearth,
But on the ridge the sun is shining bright
And you can see the edges of the Earth.

From time to time, an eagle soars on high
In the crisp air, to start from there a chase,
And the chamois enchants your watchful eye
When jumps on rocky slopes with perfect grace.

And you are caught in its majestic flight.

That autumn had come and you went away.

So, help me forget the dream that I had
Your youthful body can make me feel glad
Give me to sip the sweet love from the cup
If I get drunk I'll forget the break up.

Kiss me, be tender, caress my sad eyes
Then warm my poor heart and make it to rise,
But you are not moving, the silence is deep
I turn and I see you have fallen asleep.

Looking for you
Octavian Cocos May 2021
I wonder, where did you go
Since right now you are away
And I miss you night and day...
I wonder, where did you go?

Maybe you are in the clouds
For they're white and please the eye
And float freely in the sky...
Maybe you are in the clouds.

Maybe you are in ravenes
In the mountains steep and bold
Facing rain and bitter cold...
Maybe you are in ravenes.

Maybe you are in the sea
Hidden deep in coral reefs
To forget about your griefs...
Maybe you are in the sea.

I wonder, where did you go
Since right now you are away
And I miss you night and day...
I wonder, where did you go?

Eagle life
Octavian Cocos May 2021
An eagle, flying high above a peak,
Was looking to the ground with much conceit,
He had brown feathers and a steel-like beak,
As well as sharp, long talons at his feet.

He was august, a king without a crown,
But having two impressive shining wings,
A bird who felt reluctant to come down
Into this realm of bad and ugly things.

A crow was croaking with a greedy look
As if a flame was burning in her blood
And from a tree flew down and proudly took
A loaf of bread half covered with black mud.

A man, who was not very far away
Said to himself, while watching that free show:
– It's better to be eagle for one day
Than for a lifetime to remain a crow.

Supreme happiness
Octavian Cocos May 2021
Love is wondrous when it's true
It can light your heart's desire
And if someday dies the fire
Memories will stay with you.

Memories are so profound,
And so faithful, there's no doubt,
But if they will be wiped out
Happiness will stick around.

Happiness is good, fertile
It does not depend on love
Or the memories thereof,
But of things that make you smile.

Cogitation
Octavian Cocos May 2021
We are making too much fuss
We've forgotten how to smile
Every day we work, discuss,
Being ruthless, being vile...

We are greedy all the time
Without money we feel odd
And by thinking we're sublime
We have lost the faith in God.

For the Nature, we don't strive
Thinking that she's our right,
And if we get rich and thrive
We shall boast with all our might.

But as humans, we are cheap
And can see those who have eyes
That in graveyards lie and sleep
Thousands of important guys.

O, Christmas tree...
Octavian Cocos May 2021
O, Christmas tree, adorned for celebration
With painted globes and stars in constellation,
With icicles and tinsel wound in coil
And with all kinds of candy wrapped in foil.

You raise your top and scratch the lofty ceiling,
For Santa Claus you want to look appealing,
Knowing that presents he will surely bring
For all the people who will come to sing.

Because it's Christmas Eve, that's why tonight
In our souls the carols will put light
And our eyes like precious gems will spark
When we will sing to Santa in the dark.

O, Christmas tree, adorned for celebration
And yet, I think I have a revelation:
Although your place is in the forest domes
You choose to die to come in our homes.

The teacher
Octavian Cocos May 2021
You do something that fulfills you
Every day you come to school
And you teach with so much passion
And with kindness, as a rule.

When you see that your dear pupils
Take good marks, then you exult,
But you're sad to know that others
Do not have a good result.

And the time flows like a river
With all kinds of demonstrations
And you count your age with pleasure,
Not in years... in generations.

Now, you deem that maybe many
Criticized you, thinking small,
But one thing is clear, for certain,
It is you who taught them all.

Sonnet 20
Octavian Cocos Jul 2021
I think I'm feeling better, more mature,
Than how in my whole life I've ever been,
But maybe it's too soon to tell for sure
That I have found my essence deep within.
Because I may be weak and uncontrolled
And this deceptive world keeps me in chains
Or by my nature I may be too bold
And, although small, I want to hold the reins.
Yet, if I say I'm good, I do not boast
And how are other people, I don't care,
For maybe I have sinned in life the most,
But now I'm like a flower fresh and fair.
All people are good-natured and alert,
But diamonds are deep buried in the dirt.

Love
Octavian Cocos May 2021
You were young and full of life
I was thriving in your eyes,
So I made you a surprise
Asking you to be my wife.

We made love without restraints
And forgot about the world;
How we danced and how we swirled,
Two nice people, two young saints!

And I offered you my love
And you blossomed, I could claim,
For I gave you all my flame
Like the hot sun from above.

Then we climbed a shining ray
Reaching heavens, like two stars,
Passing close to reddish Mars,
Walking through the Milky Way...

            * * *
Now, the young age has gone by,
We have left the starry space,
But our souls, so full of grace,
Have remained up in the sky.

Sonnet 9

St. John baptized with water, we all know,
And taught us how to pray and to repent,
But few can drink his words, which since then flow,
For no one wants to live with the head bent.
With his wild nature and his gloomy mood
He carried out his mission to the end
And scolded people as much as he could,
Because he wanted all to comprehend.
The sinners, being scared to let him loose,
Chopped off his head in prison, late at night,
But even though he suffered this abuse
Received from God relief and holy light.
The Jordan gently flows through these old lands,
Longing for John, who baptized with his hands.

Night of Resurrection
Octavian Cocos May 2021
Right near the churchyard, which is on the hill,
Where sleep the dearest ones that passed away
With bitter tears in eyes we're standing still
Thinking of them, as we do every day.

Thousands of little stars are twinkling now
The sky is clear, enchanting our eyes,
Up there the angels are prepared to bow
Because tonight Lord Jesus will arise.

A few more steps and we have reached the site
The church is charming and we hear its call
We get inside, although the place is tight
And everything is solemn, stern and small.

Candles are burning brightly all around
The flames are putting us under a spell
My soul is quickly rising from the ground
Hearing that death cannot lead us to hell.

Now, we are going back to grandma's place
Who has prepared red eggs and baked sweet bread
And seeing us she says with cheerful face:
“Christ is alive and never will be dead”.

Filled with love
Octavian Cocos May 2021
Summertime. The sun is burning
Birds are chasing worms and flies
In my chest the heart is yearning
When I look into your eyes.

The blue sea is clear and friendly,
Like the cloudless sky above,
By the hand I hold you gently
Being glad and full of love.

And my blood is flowing wildly
When I touch your rounded hips
The cool breeze is blowing mildly
And I kiss your sweet, red lips.

In the sun, heat is oppressive
I am like a burning coal,
But I think the most impressive
Is that you ignite my soul.

And it is beyond suspicion
In this landscape so divine
You are not an apparition
For your body's close to mine.

Night is falling uninvited
Stars are twinkling, bright and free,
And I'm feeling so excited
When you say you're loving me.

Our souls are now united
Full of sensuality
And we're waiting thrilled, excited
To touch the eternity.

Request for my son
Octavian Cocos May 2021
When the time has passed, leaving joys or scars,
And you'll be like God, always in control,
Flying night and day among shining stars
Look around and search for my lonely soul.

And make sure you take with you all the time,
When you guide your ship, feeling brave and free,
That old-fashioned picture, not at all sublime,
But which proudly shows only you and me.

And when you are sad or the world is fierce
Take it in your hand, watch it, don't be silly!
And with your big eyes drowned in bitter tears
Maybe you'll remember that I loved you dearly.

Yet, I hope you'll come in a sunny day
Back upon the Earth, like a vagrant wave,
So, I'd like to think that you'll find the way
And you'll put a rose on my quiet grave.

Then, before you leave, listen and take heed
For my hot request will raise from the ground:
Run back home, my lad, 'cause you are my seed,
Take care of your mom while I'm not around!

Dreams and reality
Octavian Cocos May 2021
How many times I saw your pretty face
In my tormented dreams, vivid and strong,
But then you disappeared without a trace
And I kept looking for you all night long.

I climbed the mountains with their snowy tops,
I sailed the ocean and the gloomy sea,
I fought the tidal waves splashing fine drops,
And yet, I didn't know where you could be.

And I kept asking all those who I met.
As if I'd been insane, completely mad,
Because my mind was awfully upset
And my poor heart was really, really sad.

I thought you were below the earth, my dear,
Or that you hid behind the clouds above,
I yelled at you and yet you couldn't hear
And didn't know about my unquenched love.

But one day, which seemed bleak and full of gloom,
The destiny arranged for us to meet
I was your teacher in the lecture room...
Oh, our story is so nice and sweet!

The Sphinx knows
Octavian Cocos May 2021
Happiness, enjoyment, sorrow,
Glory, gain, pathetic fall
All these will be gone tomorrow,
Poor dark shadows on a wall.

Heaps of money, real treasures,
Goods, estates and many shares,
Will provide sweet, earthly pleasures
To the poor and greedy heirs.

Only change is everlasting
And it turns the world around
Death's stillness is disgusting,
As the prophets always found.

The old Sphinx watches with sorrow
How we think that we are kings
Knowing that today, tomorrow,
Time erases all the things.

Oh, mother
Octavian Cocos May 2021
Oh, mother, without you the Earth is not my friend
And on my cheeks flow tears, for I cannot pretend;
Your house is sad and empty, I feel like a John Doe
When nobody replies me, although I say, “Hello!”.

The phone is stern and silent, it doesn't ring at all
How much I'd like you, angel, to give me a short call,
To hear again those words so touching and divine:
“My baby, this is mother, I hope that you are fine”.

And maybe this is only a nightmare or a spell
In which an evil demon has taken me to hell
That's why I am so eager to wake up and to see
The lovely face that always was watching over me.

But time is running quickly and you are not around
Where are your eyes, dear mother, so gentle and profound?
I know they died for good and cannot see and thrive
And I am also dead, although I'm still alive.
