When I was a child,
We never had a fridge or a cooler,
Mother would pour tap water in a large clay *** with a tap,
The *** was covered with a plate and a steel glass was placed on it,
The water kept in the clay *** was cool and refreshing,
We all shared the same glass.
Mum would also cook on a sigri( clay coal stove) using clay pots,
Even chapattis were made on a clay pan,
Mind you the food cooked in clay utensils were far tastier,
Especially dishes made from coconut milk,
Like fish, chicken and rice.
Ahhh! Those were the days,
I can still feel the taste of mum's food cooked in clay pots.

Out from jail,
Saw three ladies in a veil,
Which one is mine,
I could not define.
Black is not my wife's colour,
Nor worn in our culture,
White is for a widow,
I know this so,
Perhaps the one in blue
Before I could say hello you,
She ran and hugged another one,
He was her son.
Then I saw a bit afar,
Wifey coming out of our car.
Though covered in a colourful embroidered veil,
I knew it was her without fail.

Of the manipulator,
He will blame you for everything,
And make himself a victim.

You marry into a family,
One thing you must learn is to tolerate,
That earns you respect.

We can't change people who they are,
But we can accept them as they are,
By being loving,kind and patient.
