don't think you could
beat the street without
me

it's madov's bossy laughter
and his vossy
attitude

i don't know if
you know what i mean:
solitude

but that's fine my brother
but that's fine my sister

without writing
everything is fist fighting
without fist fighting
everything is writing

i need me a

new language
new lady
thousand babies

and i'll found a tribe
you never heard of it'll
be called

Him
I smile when the screen lights up knowing it's him ,
Getting flashbacks can't control my feelings within,
The giddiness I feel knowing what we have is so real ,
forever is what I feel when I think about him ,
his smile so bright his hugs so right,
he's my comfort,
The only drug I'll ever be addicted to .

What I told you I feel different?
What if I told you something is not right?
What if I told you things have changed?
The way I was raised and I see now are totally different
My aunt doesn’t look at me now the way she used to when I was 10
What if I told you I thought we were family but we are not?
Because I grew up watching our family getting divided
What if I told I grew up in a place where I was discriminated?
What if I told everywhere I go I looked different?
I felt like a prisoner, I couldn’t leave my cell
And what if I told you I know who is responsible for it?
A guy called tribe.

What if I told you people lost their jobs because of him?
What I told you young people were arrested and murdered in his name?
What if I told you women were ***** to please him?
What if I told you everybody seem to enjoy it?
And what if I told you I am no alright?
I mean, I don’t feel dead, but I am not alive either.
what if i told you is wrote and it talks about tribalism how it divides us and its effects on us.

From a deep hole she did rise,
from the grasp of self-doubt she broke free,
from the ocean of self-hate she swam ashore.

And she wrapped herself in layers of self-love,
armor of respect, and sheaths of grace.

And to war she went, freeing her fellow goddesses,
from the unworthy, unholy, and undeserving.

Together they rose and conquered.

The queens of today.

Well I was a world away from you when you became a bride
And how could I know I'd love you and call him friend?
I was a different man than you know today, in a different life
I don't know how, I don't know why, and don't know when
I became a father as you took your vows
How did we do life changing things at the same time?
And now that you're both in my life I have no doubt
That I am yours as you are his, as he is hers, and you are mine
You make every sad song go away
You make every love movie about us
And I don't know if I told you today
But this love between the cule has shown me trust
Shown me desire and acceptance
I've waited a lifetime to see
Myself gain repentance
And I was beginning to think it'd be
Little more than a fools dream that I could escape the heat
That my past was my only future
That my own and spirit had my soul beat
But now I see the bigger picture
No matter what I may have done before
I know that I am forever yours

Reuben's got his friends.
Reuben's got a tribe.
Reuben now knows where he belongs.
Reuben's standing straight.
Reuben's walking tall.
Reuben will recall where he is from.

And now
he knows
he's loved.

Reuben's word is true.
Reuben's word is strong.
Reuben's word is wise beyond his years.
Reuben's speaking loud.
Reuben's teaching truth.
Reuben will be heard beyond his peers.

And now
he knows
he's loved.

Reuben's got his friends.
Reuben's got a tribe.
Reuben now knows who he'll become.
Reuben's standing straight.
Reuben's walking tall.
Reuben knows he'll dance to heaven's drum.

And now
he knows
he's loved.
To my new friend Reuben Hamilton.

The Last Priest
smiled his blessings
indiscriminately
bridging
seeding
building
a new priesthood

beyond borders
across tribes
ignoring gender
discounting class
blind to race
snubbing rank
denying privilege

and preferring
a new holy nationality
for refugees
for stateless souls
like mine
- like ours
1 Peter 2:9-10
9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
10 Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

Galatians 3:26-29
26 So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith,
27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.
28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
29 If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Broad eyebrows,
porcelain foundation,
pursed lips,
distain flying from painted digits,
resenting the imposed ****** proximity.

Then her eyes met her twin's
and both faces cracked wide in smiles and laughter,
her pose was momentarily forgotten,
as she was reunited once more with her tribe.
Adventures on a train.

Sometimes I sit around and talk to myself
Then I choose to write it down
I’m trying to figure out if I’ve gone crazy
Because I’m addicted to the sound

The music wont stop
Because when the beat drops
Its what makes the culture come around
It doesn’t matter if they think you’re lazy
They’ll be crazy about your sound

When you see the whole is much greater than the sum
We are all breed of many colours as one
Tribe

Bless this mess
There’s too many confessions to make
The last mistake I made
Was to underestimate

That there’s a limit to the past though
It stops with what we choose
To put our clever mind on
So if you’re living in the past dear
I suggest you come along

When you see the whole is much greater than the sum
We are all breed of many colours as one
Tribe

Sometimes I sit around and talk to myself
And when I say it all out loud
It starts to feel more like that I’m awakening
Its the awakening of the sound
Yes there is no mistaking
Its the awakening of the sound
Lyrics written to a rhythmic guitar piece. Topic is inspiration, community, art and creativity which is often mistaken for craziness. <3
