As pretty as she may be,
in this world there are many
who are equally just as lovely,
some may even have a distinct
characteristic as sweet as honey,
they're probably more distinguished
too with a charismatic aura so funny
people gobble up every word ever said
but none pulls me into the sacred entry,
where scrolls of pure devotion are read.

Look at me. Look at me and let my reflection get trapped in those👀as I journey to places that no being's ever been and I'll triumph. Since thru those windows is where I find home. And thru those windows is where I'd find you if you ever got lost from me. Look at me. -Sw👀
Mister J Dec 2018
Papers scattered all over the table
Like the thoughts jumbled in my mind
Pens out of ink, pencils' lead littered
Like this tired heart in broken chaos

Here I am, broken and tested
Twisted by fate to fall in love again
Here I am, fighting yet bested
Twisted by fate to fail all over again

You are the object of my affections
The one who gives me sleepless nights
You are the sunlight in this dark life
The one who sheds life in my sadness

No amount of words can paint you
A picture of my deepening emotions
No amount of broken pens can suffice
A poem that is meant to embody you

Please give me a chance to fight
No matter how long it might be
Please give me the will to endure
No matter how hard it might get
A mix of emotions and words

Instead of a rhyming scheme, I tried a different pattern, but on the first words of the sentences

It feels a bit unfinished, I may edit this soon if new inspiration comes, but for now here's my first draft.

Thanks for reading. Tell me what you think

If
There is
Anything
Worth dying for
It's to go back in time
On that fateful Thursday
The day we went up that hill
Me and you on top of the world
All our problems were right below us
Nothing could stop us, nothing could go wrong
When  I  felt,  for  once,  a  bit  of  forever
Now every time I see you, my heart aches
You walk past me like I don't exist
Like nothing's happened, nothing's changed
All my efforts, blown away
I would go back in time
To undo the things
Undo the pain
To unlove
Unlove
You

You lifted my heart up and straightened its creases
Then you dropped it and it shattered into a million pieces
My mind keeps telling me to give it all up
But my heart says otherwise; it doesn't tell me to stop

I'm tired of wishing, I'm tired of waiting
But when I turn the radio on, a love song's playing
When I open my eyes, all I see is you
Why is giving up so hard to do?
(L'appel du vide is an impulse to jump when standing on a high ledge)

I sit and stare at the beautiful sky
Clicking my pen as time ticks by
I wonder how I could live this through
Knowing that I've lost someone like you

You were my inspiration
Through every trial and tribulation
The subject of my procrastination
To be with you was my only exclamation

You used to light up my world
But now I'm lying on my bed, all curled
Clutching my pillow oh so tight
How can I sleep peacefully through the night?

Now you're gone, I understand
"Flowers for you," I say
"I regret not asking you for a dance
On the night your life was taken away"

I was once confined in colossal walls
Each corner and path lead to the unknown
Thought of escaping by flying above this cage
On a contraption Daedalus called his own

I saw the end of the labyrinth
The sweet smell of liberation filled the air
I saw another thing-- much brighter, more captivating
To ignore the beauty of Sol, I wouldn't even dare

I knew reaching the sun was pure insanity
I knew I wasn't supposed to go near it
But what was stopping me?
What could get in the way between you and me?

All my efforts flying up were completely wasted
It didn't even take a while to realize
How the wings made of wax quickly melted
Down I go in utter surprise

I used to think that only animals are kept inside cages
Now I know why hearts are confined in them, too
To keep us from listening to the temptations of its sinful desires
Before we realize it all too soon

You are a sunset to me
With beauty emanating beyond my sight
And once you leave, the evening comes
Wrapping me in the depths of the night

I cannot do anything to stop you from setting
Nor bring you back once you leave
So I take every chance to see you
Cherishing the moments I could never retrieve

Sometimes I stare out the window
Looking at the orange sky
Wondering what makes a sunset so breathtaking
I guess I will never know why
