from a simple hello
came a complexity
which was you

it had been hard
with the lines scarce
and the miles stretch

but as time unraveled
our thoughts flourished
like a stream downhill

thanks to that old hello
fate has made me witness
my elastic best friend

The heat emission
Burning my heart down to submission
Only to wake at eviction.

I wanted you
To love
To care for
To show you
How it felt.
I wanted to feel it with you.
And as I stare at everyone else,
I remember you.
Spent too much time figuring out
What I did wrong,
I forgot to move on.

I've said hello. I've had to say goodbye.
I've said a lot of things in my time.
And I'll say a lot more.
Because you taught me
that what I have to say matters.
And now it's time to share
what I've learned with you.
What you have to say matters.
What you WANT to say matters.
You listened to me.
So, I'm ready to listen to you.
