I wish I could be
The best thing for us
But you and I know
I'm just a curse

When love touches me
It turns to dust
And hatred burns
With every touch

Tears turn to ash
Whilst pain fights inside
The soul strives to escape
And you sink in lies

Sorrow burrows itself
Into my smiles
Spreading its wings
Ready to devour
The Napkin Poet Dec 2016
The thought of you
An uncertain utopia
Shaky and tense
To me makes little sense

The way you look at me
I come undone upon the seems
Holding and gripping
To keep my sanity is crippling

You say you can love me from a distance
But take this for instance
If I said good riddance
Would you see me as the menace?
Ezra Nov 2014
Sometimes I look up at the clouds,
And I hear the music
Ringing in my ears
And I think

It's us against the world,

Yeah,

It's us against the world.

Sometimes I just feel that it's unfair,
That God's balance beam
Is just too narrow,
That I can't hold on,
That I'm falling,
I'm falling back down to Earth,
Just like a modern-day
Lucifer

Then you catch me,
You hold on,
You're gripping me tightly and your hair's in my face,
And I'll never fall,
'Cause,
You're my counter-weight;

Yeah,

It's us against the world...
