"Can you feel it?
Almost close enough to touch.  It's pure potential
And it is only limited by our own crippled souls.
Our willingness to stop advancing.
Fearing change.
Fearing failing.
But forgetting forfeit is also a loss.
We pass on our own destinies,
Choosing to live vicariously through nothing-
Because NOTHING excites us.
NOTHING moves us
NOTHING motivates us
And NOTHING is all we take for ourselves.
Nothing is heavy around our ankles, keeping us as it is...
Can you feel it?

Daytime is clawing its way into the room
Let's go outside and breathe in the fresh Yorkshire air
Let's detoxify our boozed up brains
Three hungover bodies overlap each other across the bed
All their nausea and fatigue beautifully intertwined
Securely fastening each other's complete lack of drive for the day
What does carpe diem mean anyway?
Just some Latin **** innit
A dead language
It's 9:51am
And I'm sat in the corner
Wondering to myself why on earth do I do this
All the time
Is it fun
I'm sure it used to be
Or was I just boring back then
CARPE DIEM!
Like a hockey team,
accomplishing the American dream.

CARPE COLLOQUIUM!
Like Napoleon,
giving a speech to defeat the Mongolian.

CARPE VINUM!
Like a forgotten man's byname,
stumbling aimlessly when it's always been within his brain.

CARPE NOCTEM!
Like a relentless cricket's chirp,
always ready to exhibit pounding energy without limit.

CARPE DIEM!
Seize the day, today,
for yesterday cannot be replayed.

Carpe Diem
Let us treasure today
We are not promised tomorrow
Let us seize the day: Carpe Diem

Let us dance like there is no tomorrow
Let us do things today instead of
putting it off until tomorrow
Let us cherish the moment
before it rushes away
Let us seize the day: Carpe Diem

Let us tell our family we love them
Let us call our friends and tell them too
Let us create some memories
and write them down
Let us not take things for granted
Let us not waste today
Let us seize the day: Carpe Diem
My friends, Carpe Diem
Hi to all my Hello Poetry family and friends. I wanted to share this moment with all of you. I feel blessed by knowing you all and I am a fan of you and your poetry accomplishments too. I sincerely believe that you all encouraged me to get up the courage to submit this poem of mine ( as well as other ones in past years) To the Poet's Corner section of Sr. Perspective.  You remain my favorite poetry community and comrades in the poetic arts. I want to Seize the day and express how much I care for all of you <3 You touch my heart and put a smile on my face. I am so blessed to call you fellow poets and friends too!!!!

Imagine, for this night, you are the queen of Fairy Tale land.
I, too, am a prince, from Make-Believe kingdom.

From beyond our cocooned proximity,
the night shimmers in, and thickens to a silken thread of moonlight
that the crone will soon spindle into her never-ending story
of billion constellations, both seen and unseen
by naked, desperate novas.

We, entwined, like the roots under a rabid rainforest,
pale as innocence, battering feverishly against the stones for ever afters,
seize Avalon, and reject Camelot.
The canopy of fireflies  synchronises in raw euphoria,
a rebel Excalibur.

The wind matures around us.
Tomorrow may be an inevitable notion,
but my queen of Fairy Tale land,
my sword, shield, bow, toothbrush, unicorn,
worn-out copy of The Arabian Nights,
all lay bare before your lion throne.

This world was once a crevice between fire and ice.
Fire and ice run in our veins,
from me to you and back into the realm of drunken faeries,
where the bumblebee heart of the day
is yet to ignite the pomegranate sky.

Lay under the stars with a lover, talking about the meaning of life.
2. Take one risk that may lead to regret, but you’ll at least have a story to tell your children.
3. Fall in love with the wrong person, at least you’ll have learned.
4. Drive along a dirt road after midnight, inhaling the country air and appreciating for just one moment that technology has not yet reached this part of the earth.
5. Go swimming in a lake with nothing but your skin and the sand between your toes.
6. Play your music so loud on a warm summer night that your neighbors scream for you to turn it off.
7. Ride on one upside-down rollercoaster after just eating cotton candy and popcorn.
8. Dye your hair one crazy color and watch it fade, because any color is better than black and white.
9. Stay out until four o’clock in the morning in your friend’s car, hanging your head out of the window and just living.
10. Make memories that will cause a serious case of nostalgia when you’re old and withering from the soft caress of time.
A sort of a bucket list for the soul.

Close my eyes and drift away.
Everyday, sitting in this shade of shame.
Sow my mind, been sick and dazed
Day to day living with these Jaded traits.

Close my eyes see scenes so tame.
Labored breathing leaving me awake.
So my mind it seems to fade,
To all the ones leading me to keep the faith.

Love my life, but weep away.
Hide the knife, you won't see my face.
The truest advice to reap the fray
Was when you told me to seize the day.

Don't let thoughts drag you down,
No need to wear such frowns,
Don't let the bastardos win,
Greet such people with a grin,
Make your own motivation, indeed,
Productive, but rest as well, prithee,
Make the most of today's interim,
Yes, that's the way, carpe diem!!!
Feedback welcome.
