Our fire's died out
since Winter.
    Yet the house somehow
remains engulfed.

Ruby red flames Illuminate your eyes,
Ember glow stealing my last breathes
I am rendered speechless, in a world where words are all I have,

Soft lips and a cool smile,
allow me to survive the warmth surrounding you,
How becoming.

Once I saw you like really saw you,
my heart blushed a shade any rose would be jealous of.
My soul awoke to take a second glance
My eyes couldn't believe what they'd been granted.
A mind trick? A demon in disguise?
My mind distorts your beauty in attempt to keep me safe,
but *******
you are beautiful.
*******.

I want you to love me
like you loved me when we met.
After time and experience what's love
but a nebulous concept? I'm all yours.
Clutch my searing sparkle, while it's yours,
like your ardor is too voracious to contest.
I'm all yours. I want you to love me
as the moment's past, like you've
endeavored to make the moment last.
Had I ever adored
another sacred satellite
more, I would have left
but I'm permanently
pulsing in narcosis on the floor,
dead devoted, waiting for the wanton
conflagration to return.
.....

This one's for you.

the two
truck drivers
love each other

very much one
broke his body
the other had
her body
broken

every morning
dusty and
uncertain
each day
could be
the end

they live
together with
their new mom

nestled in a
cozy
*****
burned out
house in
the hood

going to bed
sirens blare
music blasts
babies cry

my eyes swell
shut from
dust mites

i am at home
i am at peace

Oh my, I'm dragging bodies
over the welcome mat and I
sit them up on the couch so that
they may feel at home

Oh jeez, these displaced pixels
and rhythmic reception soon
let loose a solemn deluge
of flickering blue light onto

Oh dear, dead faces in the glow
of some early-morning show
currently being reflected back by
their glazed and vacant eyes

that I just can't seem
to stop staring into.
