The Balcony Between Worlds
I stand
on the edge of the balcony,
not falling,
not safe.
Below,
the city exhales
in flickering lights and wet pavement.
Above,
the moon bends down,
whispering
choose.
I almost speak,
but my voice catches the wind,
falls
before I can hear
what it was going to say.
and so
I just stay here.
Between.
