Peaches

Wednesday’s child is full of woe
born under a half moon sky
in the year of the dragon with
Castor and Pollux looking on

A star crossed horoscope
of darkness and light
with a touch of the dragon’s
noble heart thrown in

But neither stars nor moon
nor dragon’s heart could save
this child from the sinister
forces loose in the world

Dedicated to Carolyn Loretta Wasilewski born June 12, 1940 and murdered the night of November 8, 1954. Still an unsolved cold case.
This is a rewrite of Wild Child; titled Peaches... Carolyn's street nickname. Am writing an account of this 1954 cold case which occurred near my home when I was 7 yrs old.
