She sat down beside me
and started talking about
her life.
I wasn't interested,

So I nodded along
to whatever she was saying
half listening.
She played pretend
with her friends
on stage,
now she works flipping burgers
and goes to school
that's it,
I feel sad for her,
adult life has
taken over,
I hope she dreams
