Chasing butterflies into the sky
I wonder why they have to fly
And just as it seemed it should be
I cant't keep them just to me

The more I'd go after and chasing
The more I feel like losing
And every time I hold a butterfly
I have to open my hands and let it fly

Chasing butterflies into the sky
Letting them go or else they die
But something also dies inside of me
Every time I set one free

I don't know why when we shall grow
We have to give up things and let them go
And things to which we must say our good byes
Are times we spent chasing butterflies.
I wrote this poem last year during one of my review classes for the CPA board exam.
