She was just a girl,
Barely knew her name
Such light behind her eyes
That moment relieved my pain
Maybe that is why...

She was just a girl,
But her presence addicted
Combining fear and love
It was she who persisted

She was just a girl,
Alone now, so long since I fell
There will always be the moment
When her eyes cast that spell

She was just a girl,
And I, a willing victim
Still to this day
But, I love her for that
Sweet child of May
