You were the seed I planted
The boat I’ve sailed with
The breeze I felt deep
And the summer I’ve been waiting

You were also the seed that never grew
The wave I failed to pass through
The feeling I wish  to forget
But the memory I’ll never regret

- Summers she never missed
Part 3 of my summer poems

I used to think men
should be more like books
Both you cannot
judge by looks...

If I didn't want to finish reading
I put it down... no heart was bleeding

A book will never fuss or fight
It will stay with you
through the night...

It doesn't smoke. It doesn't drink.
It won't leave toothpaste
in the sink!

It doesn't binge... it don't eat...
It won't leave up the toilet seat!

It don't forget. It doesn't mope.
It won't hog the TV remote!

It doesn't have to have
The last say...
It doesn't have legs

to walk away.

But it's not soft. It isn't warm.
It doesn't keep you
safe from harm.

Even though it makes no fuss
It can't think. It can't discuss.

Even though it has its charms
it can't hold you in its arms.

It doesn't pine. It doesn't miss.
It can't hug and it can't kiss.

So now I think on it again...
... I think BOOKS should be
             more like MEN!!!

The burnt skin will heal
Just like how summer flees

The tanned skin will fade
Just like how season change

You too will smile again
Just like how dawn breaks in.

- Summers she never missed
Summer thoughts

Look, If it wasnt for you
I wont look forward to that day
Or mark the calendar for a date
I wont even enjoy the mundane things
Or get excited for a grocery stroll

You see,
If it wasnt for that Hi
I won’t even have the sweetest hello.

And this day,
Was also the day, you said hello,
The day we started with a single hi,
And ended up with us in this aisle

I thank God for all the years
That weve been through
Now, to seal our bond
Let me say my

I Do
From “hi” all the way to “I do”

Thank you

For letting me feel the sun like it was meant to shine
For letting me see the sky, like it was meant to smile
For letting me hear the sea, like it was meant to calm

And for letting me see the you,
That I’ll always look forward to.
To all of you out there who wants to give thanks to the people who brought out the best in you simply by existing.

It’s okay

to feel the sun kissed heat
to feel the burnt sand on your feet
to get numb caused by a swim on the beach

It’s okay to just be you.
Without pretending to put the smile
You thought will do.

- Summers she never missed.
Inspired by my summer getaway, to a friend who apologized because she cried in front of me.

Check the mirror
And see for yourself
The image you see
Maybe different from ours

You may see scars
But we see beauty
You may notice the indifferences
But we can’t t deny the perfect curves

You might have appreciated the beauty of others
But how we wish you see the angle from ours
Though sometimes you wish to have their features
Know that we certainly wish we had some of yours!
To the people who wish they were someone else, know that others wish they were like you, too.

I made this poem for a friend who always think that she have gotten too fat or that she may not look good on pictures and was too hesitant to have her photo taken because of her own depiction of herself.... but in reality, she’s actually, really really  gorgeous! She just doesn’t realize that.
