Were the human embodiment
Of all my fears:
The manifestation
Of all my monsters.
Yet,
If you came knocking
I’d open the closet-
Pull up the bedcovers-
Turn back to the dark mirror-
And invite you back in.

Your arms are like vines
Winding their way up my body
Blossoming flowers where I’d seen none before.
The touch of your fingertips
Tender like the brush of leaves
And your windy breath raising my flesh;
Pull me in. Pull me down.
I yearn for your roots
Intertwined with mine,
An infinite dance toward the skies
As we grow as one.

I want to be loved with all you have,
That intensity that ignites flames
Then drags full force waves to ***** them out.
No holds barred,
Letting go of the reigns;
It’s not the butterflies wings,
But each beat of your heart
With my every blink
That creates typhoons
Halfway across the sea.
Each beat of your heart, beating for me.

I am exhausted
with your
silences

The chattering muons
rain upon my
magnetosphere

this crushing
undetectable
force

of everything
failing
to fill

The hands that held me
Upright like stone pillars now
Crumbled into marble rubble.
I’m left sifting through the wreckage,
Left by a war waged against himself.
One warrior.
Two casualties.
The ruins carry whispers of
Memories, promises and lies;
All etched on the walls
That once could be confided in
Now relinquishing their secrets.
A foundation built on sand
Will sink in battle:
Rebuild.
