I've got a Tin Man heart
Wound up nice and tight
Goes off when it falls in love
Lets me know when the time is right

Instead of on my chest or sleeve
I hold it tightly in my hand
So you can see its ringing needs
And help fill its demands

Though shiny on the outside
The pretty parts that can be seen
A past mix of dust and flakes of rust
Sometimes grind the gears beneath

If ever it gets broken
It easily can be fixed
I have a friend who is a Wiz
When it comes to things like this

I've got a Tin Man heart
That beats to be free
You'll often find me wind it tight
Hoping to never lose that beat

Look me in the eyes
And tell me what you see
an empty soul
a broken girl

Another year, another Father's day
Too long since mine has passed
Still holding tight the memories
Of the man that I called Dad

He did with me the best he could
Teaching me what he thought was right
Never turn your face my son the evil ways
When it comes to justice stand and fight

Always respect your Mother
Loving her the best you can
And when you see those with little hope
Lift them up with the kind word of friend

Valuable lessons that my Daddy gave
I can't begin to tell
He is with my other Father now
In Heaven where all is well

If I could be half the man my Father was
Remembering all he thought was right
Like being the best Dad for his kids
Then I will have served out well my purpose in life

The last autumn leaf had fallen.
A gust had taken it off its perch
and sent it earthbound.
It relished its slowed descent
only to be cradled by the ***** of the ground.

Then winter had been upon us.
Leaving us cold, desolate and empty.
Loneliness wielded a reckless brush
and had painted the backdrop
of our minds with vast whiteness
accentuated by the greys of uncertainty.

The leaf froze and crumbled to dust.
Just as we would have if not for
the mantra of hope.
Of which,
dreams might again spring forth.
Engulfing and taking us home.

We'd journey through scented spring -
soaking up the amber of days
and the fragrance of flowered fields.
We'd run our fingers over the tops of tall
dew-peppered grass.

We sing the same chorus
as we turn our heads towards
the suns of summer.
A haven where we believe all is hale
and the fires in our hearts
will once again be rekindled.

Most guys that have a sick infatuation tend go insane.
Looking for a different purpose for some love that everybody
Already has and been portrayed.
All your fantasies are stricken even in a state of mind to where
Your ****** desires bring,
Less to the plate than it was intended in a moment of abolishing
The virginity,
Still feeling lonely , I guess that'll never happen frequently,
But honestly,
In this whole thing,
I'd rather give up.
Can't have a girl that worries about the wrong things,
I wouldn't change,
Lifes a game,
I'm so obstacle stuck,
I swear they worry about the wrong things,
The wrong things,

But I know that I can't just give up,
Noone is perfect for someone to crave some perfect flesh looking
At the bottom of the sea Tangled up,
With someone else's fishing rod , why don't you go and meet them.

.
Will you say something?
Just before I go...

Will you fill the void
that had silently metastasised?

Will you convey it
like you really mean it?

Will you allay my fears
that's been cleverly disguised?

The day I came out of the closet
Was the day that freedom rang
Stepping up to bat with the fact
That something had to change

While some may call me a *****
A girly girl among men
It is well worth all of that hurt
To enjoy this life style I live

Guaranteed I don't look any differently
At a glance you'd never know
I still have the smile I've had all this while
And I don't wear flamboyant clothes

I still talk with a Southern draw
Without the slightest hint of a lisp
If you're looking for a difference
You'd be hard pressed to find what it is

But I'm waving the banner proudly
In case you didn't know it
For all the world to see that yes this is me
Out of the closet I proudly am a poet
