care enough
about questions
to answer

and enough
about answers
to question
-

People will forget
what you say and do
but will remember
how you make them feel.

"Those who say it cannot be done
should not interrupt the person doing it."
-
-
If it's important enough to worry about,
it's powerful enough to be seen to.
Titles serve to distract or augment;
so what happens in their absence?

Observe.

Titles are like words:
they help to effigize something that we may communicate it,
but that effigy can also sell it short; undermine it.
That is the reluctance of the Wise.
-
-
"There are two perfect men:
one dead, and the other, unborn."
To disambiguate; I believe the term "men" here is synonymous with "Human", as in "mankind".
-
-
It needs to be challenged.
Don't worry: it understands.
Let it help you be more like it,
for we all change before it does,
and so it would be auspicious
to learn from it as it is.
Everything changes,
so all is but change.

Seek as thou willst
all the while while remaining
among the Ten-Thousand Things:

Breathe.
Be as it, as you are.
Breathe.

Reflect.
Breathe.
Rejoice.
"Recognizing such intrinsic Perfection,
you will tilt your head back and laugh with the sky."

"People may as well be holding up signs saying: 'You know all that Scientific progress Humanity has made in the last one hundred thirty years? **** it! Moreover, **** all the understanding of the natural world we've gained in the last three thousand years.'"

However much
it may pain me to confess:
I appreciate you
much much much much more
than I like you;
even so,
you oughtta be grateful
for even so much
consideration.

If our Paths ne'er crossed again,
it would be an eternity too soon.
What an inexhaustible muse
thou hath proven to be;
so much more
than I e'er could have asked.

Ne'ertheless:
*******
and the various horses
upon which thou hath arrived!

Have the courage
to never stop learning.
"Yeah, it's among the ten-thousand things.
Embrace it as such and get over it."
What
is it
that we want?
Why do we live on?
Why wouldn't we just pull the plug
when the opportunity presents itself to us?
What is so compelling that we
keep on keeping on?
I think we
call it:
It is up to the reader to supply the last word.

is the number 4,

In the name of sanctity, however,
it is most assuredly not

Leaders of the 'Free World':
Get jobs inflating hot air baloons
with all that hot air you love to blow,
Then perhaps you'd make an honest living
and your words would be useful
not just to you and yours, but to those you claim to seek to help.

WE ARE SERFS
WE ARE PEONS
WE ARE PAWNS
WE ARE STATISTICS
WE ARE UNITS TO BE EXTORTED
WE ARE UNITS OF PRODUCTION
WE ARE THE UNTOUCHABLES

Our right is to worship our system
In surveillance and ignored promises we trust!
You
say that
I don't know
what I do to you:
Psychological Damages;
but what you say is Evidence of your Ignorance;
you don't know what you do to me
the Damage you reap;
effortless,
so well:
Pain.
Found this in an old sketchbook. Symmetrical Fibonacci sequence for the syllables.

****,

I don't have enough blood
to bleed as I tend to.

If the pain ended
and I was mistake-free
and I knew what to do
and I knew all I needed to;

I wouldn't need to live.

Well ****,
I'm alive.

I live.

For now.
Fifteen months on this site
and I've amassed One Hundred Thousand reads
and One Hundred Twenty Five followers.

I would like to thank each of you so much for reading my writings,
through the good times and the bad,
the emotional and the logical,
the spiritual and the profane,
and everything in between.

I look forward to many more months
of reading, writing, sharing and discussion.

Cheers!
Unfathomable Profit
can and is wrought by
One willing to abide by
equally unfathomable Evil
"The World is a scary place;
not because of those who do Evil,
but because of those who look on
and do nothing." - A.Einstein
The Academic World, it would seem,
hasn't so much to do now with Philosophy
as with Sociology, Economics, and Dogma.
I wish it to be clear that this is not to dismiss Academia as a resource, but rather to pay heed to that fact that any institution may become dangerous through time, without regard for it's true utility or purity of initial intentions.

An appeal to authority
tends to stand in lieu of understanding,
regardless of who is appealing to whom,
and who's appealed to by whom.

Look both ways before accepting authority.

Caution! No one is innocent.

If you will only accept perfection, you will never truly accept anything.

Flaw is illusory. Flaw is character.
Flaw is in the eye of the beholder.
It is perfect already,
hence existence.

It is harmony.
One has two choices in Life:

accept conditions just as they are
or
accept the responsibility of attempting to alter them.
"Yup. There we go. Now it's complete."
Adversity is a Challenge.
Be a coward if you wish.
The Challenge is, my veritable pantheon of followers,
is to describe thyself, without thy name,
in 6 stanzas
of your rhythmic, syllabic and linguistic choosing

Write these as your own poems
and link them to me in comments, below,
and I shall do the same as a separate piece
(when I get home from my show in Sacramento tonight)

Ye, who accepteth this, my humble Challenge
shall earn major kudos
and I shall be flattered and honored
and truthful, in turn, in mine.

I think this could be inspirational and communally entertaining and enlightening.
What sayeth thou, my friendly Fellows,
Will my Challenge be taken?
You try to come off as Mature and in command
but it seems that you are little more
than a Child in Adult clothing;

Age may not seem to be relevant,
and in some cases it truly isn't;
but as you acquire more of it, you shall bear witness to the effects of it's absence:

It is not necessary to "grow up" they way they say to,
but it is necessary to become greater than you have been;
Otherwise, you're infantile, at best; a Child in Adult clothing.
...and not in a good way!
I acquiesce
not because I must,
but because *I love you.
An important distinction.

Love is more or less synonymous with respect in this case.
All my best work
seems to be done
when there's a task
that oughtta be done.
That's why I carry a notebook.
Act
Act
An ounce of action can crush a ton of fear
Heed more
what people do
rather than
what people say,
but be sure
to be aware of both.
If your Religion is so true,
why do you have to tell others
that such is the case?

Should it not be self-evident?

Maybe, then, it is just a cult
that has stood the test of Time.
Assuming 'survival of the most adaptive,'
why does Change tend to frighten people?
It should be seen as an opportunity;
a challenge to which One can rise
and beyond which One can grow.
My mistakes do not vindicate your mistakes.
My wrong does not make your right.
My folly does not justify your folly.

Ad hominem all the way down.
"America used to be the land of passionate, skilled Labor
then it degraded into the land of exploiting that Labor
and now it's simply the land of Exploitation."

"Y'know, that seems pretty true;
it is a stereotype that Americans just exploit whatever it is,
whether it's the Japanese man's politeness when we bastardize the eating of Sushi
or a legal loophole a corporation finds and uses to maximize profits with minimal morality."
Er legt die Nadel auf die Ader
und bittet die Musik herein
zwischen Hals und Unterarm
die Melodie fährt leise ins Gebein

Los! Los! Los!
Bop bop shu bop

Er hat die Augen zugemacht
in seinem Blut tobt eine Schlacht
ein Heer marschiert durch seinen Darm
die Eingeweide werden langsam warm

Los! Los! Los!
Bop bop shu bop

Nichts ist für dich
nichts war für dich
nichts bleibt für dich
für immer

Er nimmt die Nadel von der Ader
die Melodie fährt aus der Haut
Geigen brennen mit Gekreisch
Harfen schneiden sich ins Fleisch
er hat die Augen aufgemacht
doch er ist nicht aufgewacht

Nichts ist für dich
nichts war für dich
nichts bleibt für dich
für immer

He lays the needle in the vein
and he asks the music to come inside
between his throat and forearm
the melody travels softly in the bones

Go! Go! Go!
Bop bop shu bop

He has closed his eyes
a battle rages in his blood
an army marches through his bowel
the intestines become warm slowly

Go! Go! Go!
Bop bop shu bop

Nothing is for you
nothing was for you
nothing remains for you
forever

He takes the needle from the vein
the melody travels out of the skin
violins burn with shrieking
harps cut the flesh
he has opened his eyes
but he is not awake

Nothing is for you
nothing was for you
nothing remains for you
forever

It is my duty as a Scholar of Language
to adjectify things.

Paradoxically,
true adjectification
is impossible.

Such is Life.
Obscure words!
Adjectify:
lit.: To make a Noun into an Adjective
fig.: To describe a phenomenon with words

I thought I made them up, (how hubristic!)
but I found out they're just rare.
Yay for doing research!
The only difference
between an Adventure and an Ordeal
is your attitude.
The most earnest of advice,
no matter how well intentioned,
all too oft does more harm than good.

One cannot teach by example
when everyone else is too self-absorbed
to learn by example.
"Feed a man for free, and he'll be back for more.
Feed a man a bullet, and you'll never hear from him again."
In something of a chaotic stupor,
the Moon tells me
(among other things)
to be nice to people
because you can never know
what they're going through,
if you'll ever see them again-
or if you're the last person they'll ever see.
So,
you may as well practice kindness
with every being you meet
no matter for how long.

You never quite know.
You just might make someone's day.
You just might save someone's life.

Worst case scenario, you're being nice,
and that's not really so bad, after all.
Some say the end is near.
Some say we'll see Armageddon soon.
I certainly hope we will.
I sure could use a vacation from this

Fret for your figure and
Fret for your latte and
Fret for your lawsuit and

Some say a comet will fall from the sky.
Followed by meteor showers and tidal waves.
Followed by fault lines that cannot sit still.
Followed by millions of dumbfounded dipshits.

Some say the end is near.
Some say we'll see Armageddon soon.
I certainly hope we will cause

Stupid ****, silly ****, stupid ****...

One great big festering neon distraction,
I've a suggestion to keep you all occupied:

Learn to swim. [x2]

Mom's gonna fix it all soon.
Mom's coming 'round to put it back the way it ought to be.

Learn to swim.

**** L. Ron Hubbard and **** all his clones.
**** all these gun-toting
Hip gangster wannabes.

Learn to swim.

**** retro anything.
**** your tattoos.
**** all you junkies and **** your short memory.

Learn to swim.

**** smiley glad-hands with hidden agendas.
**** these dysfunctional, Insecure actresses.

Learn to swim.

Cause I'm praying for the end;
I'm praying for tidal waves
I wanna see the ground give way.
I wanna watch it all go down.
Mom, please flush it all away!
I wanna see it go right in and down.
I wanna watch it go right in.
Watch you flush it all away.

Time to bring it down again.
Don't just call me pessimist.
Try and read between the lines.

I can't imagine why you wouldn't
Welcome any change, my friend.

I wanna see it all come down.
**** it down.
Flush it down.
A powerful song by a ******* amazing band, musically and philosophically.
I love this song too much not to share the text. There's my two cents.

Inspired by and written for my love, Pen Lux:

Starts in 6/4, ends in 7/4; 6+7=13, our anniversary day.

Post-Apocalypse [Overtones like a *******]
A recording of me playing a riff I wrote in 17/8 time on my 12-string,
sort of inspired by the beginning of the new long-cycle which ended in 2012
(Hence the name)

I'm going to live [If it's the last thing I ever do!]
Sketch which will eventually be expanded upon
Pattern of 3 measures of 4/4 and one of 5/4; repeated.
Anyone who is so inclined is welcome to check them out. Comments and critique welcome.
"I am going to kick you in the *** in the face.
Not because it will go that far up your ***,
but because your head is already there."

"My boots are not that big,
my legs are not that strong,
but your face is already there."
In reference to Amazon.com and their ever-so-helpful customer support.
"The most interesting people in College
seem to be the people who sat outside their classes in High-school.

In college they [ought to] say "hey, yeah! That's a possibility!"
rather than the archaic "LEAVE FOR QUESTIONING MY AUTHORITY!"
"The DMV is the biggest collection of idiots working for *******."
"Gah! ******' ***** and their cancerous Toxins!
I'm going to go smoke a cigarette; I'm poisoning myself because they're poisoning me!
Hey, at least this is intentional."
"Being a whale would be so trippy."
I love her so much
that if she had a fatal illness
I'd want it too,
and that scares me.
Age
Age
There is no longer a correlation
between progress down One's path and Age;

It once was
that the elderly were sacred for their wisdom;
they've had the longest to observe
they've had the longest to think
they were the harbingers of the Past.

It does take time
to find and travel your Path,
but it can begin at any time,
and one stray at any time.
If we all would simply
agree to disagree,
I find that many would be
much more agreeable,
wouldn't you agree?
Let me enjoy what I enjoy,
and I'll do the same for you:

If we could all agree to disagree
I think we'd all be much more agreeable.
If everyone were to agree,
the drive for progress would be gone.
