I never thought it would come back in this way,
Kept it out of mind, did anything to keep it at bay.
The darkness disappears, she shines like the stars,
Shining light on the darkest of scars.
Her presence makes the world a happier place,
For I am a better person everyday I see her face.
At night, she's the last thing I think about, the first in the morn,
If I was to ever lose her I'd be left in complete ruin, torn.
She means so much but she'll never comprehend,
As each day that goes by my heart gets harder to mend.
She speaks of others that sweep her off her feet,
But I know they will never make her complete.
We laugh and joke when we're together,
I wish that those moments would last forever.
To be the knight that saves her from her tower,
Is all I think about, every minute of every hour.
There's no better feeling than knowing I made her smile,
That's what makes all my pain worthwhile.
A friend I shall stay as my feelings call out with a yell,
But who am I to say what fate will bring, for only time will tell...

(This is for someone very dear to me who is very far away...)

The moon hangs above your head as well.
So lonely and cold,
where life cannot dwell.
You close your eyes and sigh in defeat.
Down a worn out street,
merely shuffling your feet.
If I drilled through the earth and came out in stride,
perhaps you'd be standing by my side.
Worlds apart and yet we feel
the same pain and hunger,
the snake biting our heel...
Mistrust and sadness
more like dwelling in madness
when we want to see a shining face
to burn the darkness from this place.
When I want to fall, I remember your smile.
When I feel alone, I remember your words.
I put my hand up to the wall and I see yours there
but I cannot touch you, or kiss your hair...
I hope those around stop and look.
I hope they notice you.
Those who have eyes with unharmed sight
could stare in wonder, so lovely, so bright...
And blind men who feel your words and listen
can even notice how you glisten...

Fools they are who don't stop to see.
The beautiful butterfly
that is staring at me...

I close my eyes and you're here.
I open them and you're still there.

...somewhere...

...just not here...

4am 4am 4am….
Leftover stonedness
Lonely memories
I can’t figure out what I miss.
Think it’s the calm comfort of tuning out
Even though the tuning out slowly murdered me
Drift beyond
Drift away from everyone
I fear people.
Sometimes I feel like everyone else disappears in the world
Or that they can’t touch me
Like I’ve never been touched.
I don’t think I’ve ever been touched.

The computer glows and I have to be quiet.
My mother is sleeping in the other room.
She’s stressed and hurting
Guilt notifies me that I haven’t helped her enough.

I don’t know if I feel like dying but I feel like becoming mute.
If I can learn to ignore everyone, I can ignore pain and let down expectations
Sweetie eyes and a tall lean lover.
Dark expression knowing my soul
Loving and *******
Soul to soul
Skin to skin
Breathe with every breath.

Silently and scrupulously looking at my dad for a minute, I asked,
"What is it like to get old?"
He turned his attention away from the computer screen
Met my gaze
Took a deep breath in, and began,

"You don't realize just how fast life goes by, until it's gone.
One day, you look in the mirror, and realize that twenty years have gone by.
It's a different person in the mirror than what you expected.
Some days, I look at your mother
And it feels like I've only known her for a few months.
Other days I look at her, and she's just so different from the woman I met.
We've grown and changed so much together.
I am, to this day, learning new things about her,
And all of them make me love her more.
Yeah, she can't cook for ****, and she talks in tangential circles
Which I just can't keep up with.
But since day one I was smitten with her.
And to this day I'm surprised that she actually chose
To spend the rest of her life with me.
Getting old with the right person makes getting old bearable."
Whenever somebody would ask my mother how her day was, she would respond,
"Getting better, just like fine wine."
Now I know why.

why put your lips
on that cigarette
when you could just
put them on mine

I closed my eyes and whispered in the air,
Saying to feel the life is dear.
When you think we will lose the moment,
Loosing a lot.
Your soul will burn and your tears will drop,
Your wings may fade through the crimson shade.

Yearning through the time,
Let your life purely shine.
The light will be good but blind you to dark
But don't be afraid,
I have realized that it can free your heart.
Can you feel the lightwaves experience;
The air that takes you away?
When that night I felt your sympathy
I will never leave you through eternity.

The time will soon eager to be froze,
But slowly have my heart to the one my destiny chose.
Through my devoted soul,
Lies beyond a cosmic hole.
It's where the pain meets
When I feel too the anger, the heat.
