bags in his hand
a studious man
standing in the doorway
"what do you want from me?"

loss for words,
nothing to say
silence made him leave
but I wanted him to stay

I was taught to ask for nothing
even if I needed something
my thoughts were loud
but my voice was too proud

*Can you love me, please?"

To go unnoticed for so long
makes you think it won't be so wrong,
to disappear, to be gone.

To be alive and feel dead
makes life seem strange
inside your head.

To hear you're loved
but feel the opposite
makes you feel not meant.

Time wasted,
energy spent
people you begin to resent.

they say let it go
but it's difficult
when it's the only life you know.

the sadness of the eyes is always the first sign

the second is an apparent lack of care

thirdly, feelings they no longer share

then, they neglect their health

lastly, they accept their death.

In the darkness without sunlight
In a drought without water
not from soil,
but from hard, cold, filthy concrete.
Many doubted,
but a bud had sprouted.

Despite neglect,
a rose beautifully grew
she never lost hope
faith in him she always knew
the discovery was unexplainable
especially since that rose became you.

they tell me to come out and play
but I like it in my head
it's safer this way.

they want more of me
they claim, it's not enough
poker faces, I still don't bluff.

I was once in danger, with no place to go
but my imagination was there
now's it's all I know.

what they don't see is, I like my fantasy world;
it allows me to be free,
reality brings too much misery.

They say when you love someone,

you should never treat them bad.

But, I keep messing up,

making Jesus sad.

**Lord have mercy on my sin and please don't get mad!

God brings us into the world
and his wife will take us out.

Not drugs,
not people,
not accidents,
not mistakes,
not weapons,
not disasters,
not anything else!

Nothing kills us more
than life itself!
