Lord, Lord, Why did You make me Black? Why did You make me someone The world wants to hold back? Black is the color of ***** clothes; The color of grimy hands and feet. Black is the color of darkness; The color of tire-beaten streets. Why did you give me thick lips, A broad nose and ***** hair? Why did You make me someone Who receives the hatred stare? Black is the color of a bruised eye When somebody gets hurt. Black is the color of darkness. Black is the color of dirt. How come my bone structure's so thick; my hips and cheeks are high? How come my eyes are brown and not the color of the daylight sky? Why do people think I'm useless? How come I feel so used? Why do some people see my skin and think I should be abused? Lord, I just don't understand; What is it about my skin? Why do some people want to hate me And not know the person within? Black is what people are "listed", When others want to keep them away. Black is the color of shadows cast. Black is the end of the day. Lord, You know, my own people mistreat me; And I know this just isn't right. They don't like my hair or the way I look They say I'm too dark or too light. Lord, Don't You think it's time For You to make a change? Why don't You re-do creation And make everyone the same? (God answered Why did I make you black? Why did I make you black? Get off your knees and look around. Tell Me, what do you see? I didn't make you in the image of darkness. I made you in the Likeness of ME! I made you the color of coal From which beautiful diamonds are formed. I made you the color of oil, The black-gold that keeps people warm. I made you from the rich, dark earth That can grow the food you need. Your color's the same as the panther's Known for (HER) beauty and speed. Your color's the same as the Black stallion, A majestic animal is he. I didn't make you in the Image of darkness I made you in the Likeness of Me! All the colors of a Heavenly Rainbow Can be found throughout every nation; And when all those colors were blended well, YOU BECAME MY GREATEST CREATION. Your hair is the texture of lamb's wool Such a humble, little creature is he. I am the Shepherd who watches them. I am the One who will watch over thee. You are the color of midnight-sky, I put the stars' glitter in your eyes. There's a smile hidden behind your pain That's the reason your cheeks are high. You are the color of dark clouds formed when I send My strongest weather. I made your lips full so when you kiss the one you love they will remember. Your stature is strong; your bone structure, thick to withstand the burdens of time. The reflection you see in the mirror... The Image looking back at you is MINE! -by RuNett Nia Ebo

//the door to your bedroom was a portal to a world unseen your bed, the ocean & your sheets, the sand with the crevices caused by the tide it flowed so sweetly over the soft sand beyond the door, serenity was foreign to you you were only there when you needed to be you, who had knit the thickest wool to pull over my eyes thicker than the blindfold we used the frenzy I remember frenzy further cured with discipline and you know what? "I like that ***** **** how will you discipline me today, daddy? it was what you taught me after all to be a brat for no one but you to be no one else's little girl if not I'd be a bad girl bad girls get punished bad girls get no love so I saved you the trouble and left my collar at the door//

the woes of a *** addict
Can you feel it Shh, allow the galaxy to pamper your body, blanket the essence of your mind, bit-by-bit Travel on a higher awareness to understand the galaxy’s gentle gift Close your eyes and allow your mind to softly drift Soft Moonlight Dust Illuminating the night skies, given warmth of its inner trust Centered in the sky, a star abates for its enlighten ****** Kindred minds to enrapture, as souls physically adjust So gentle, as a touch to the skin An inner space to conquer, there an exploring craving begins Awareness of self stirring into the constellation Bodies attuned beyond the stretch of imagination Savoring on the flavor of the alignment sweeten taste Desires igniting an inferno, the heat of its flames refusing to wait Overheated friction surrendering without debates Runaway yearning weakening in the presence of fate The ecstasy of the moonlight’s dust felt, abiding to the crack of dawn Emotions of the elixir slowly withdrawn A Cheshire moonrise Always a sacred communion given in surprise Masked feelings hidden behind the stars in our eyes Sprinkles of pixie dust as the moon becomes full Paired upon, as lace meets wool Interwoven and tenderly spun on a galactic spool Stars In Exile Twinkling for eyes to glimpse beyond the earth’s smile Canopus to Antares, oh how you make me shine Closing my eyes, coveting your point as I’m making you mine Settled and glittering as small diamonds binding in the sky A wondrous elopement to experience in the blink of an eye Soft whispers to the ones that shoot right before they fall Such a beautiful and breathlessly cadence to wish under them all The Gift Of The Sun’s Stroke Umm, shooting stars kept me awoke Relentless bodies bathing under the moon Caresses, touches, entwined souls echoing the note of its weakening tunes Sweeter and sweeter, deeper and deeper Bodies fueled, hot as a heater, bodies climbing steeper and steeper Heat consumes the interior of the temple Sweat of life, as movements come together and then disassemble Elated, sedated, dipping in a cool blue lagoon Kisses under the sun on a beautiful afternoon Temperatures rising not a moment too soon June slamming into summer’s heat A merriment of a sun stroke basking in the glorious feast The galaxy and its spicy passion A gift to the world to enjoy in any unbridled fashion

Just how does one define friendship? Oh, I already know what the Dictionary says. It's far more than merely one word, or two. You could apply many verbs to describe it. Few, on their own will justice due. It is more about one's emotional perception, than a mere sentence of words, though descriptive. For sure it's a feeling, a strong visceral response evoked by respect, even love of a thing above all other's. Friends come in many shapes, sizes and colors. They can be inanimate or living breathing. All inspire in us a near electrical resonance of reassurance, a sense of peace, surely comfort. Maybe it starts with the rhythmic beating of our own mothers heart, the sound and vibration of our first true friendship. A little later her breast and the nourishment it gave, became our first outer world dearest best companion. Mother's milk, served warm, sweet and tenderly, Love's personification. Yes of course Friendship can be an extension of a strong lasting bond with other people, yet even more. Our family's are our closest best friends, if we are lucky. But what of the others? I have been  befriended by books, movies, dogs and many other non human living friends, I even have a old film camera I packed completely around the world, that I count among my closest companions. A soft warm favorite wool blanket acquired down in New Zealand, also fits nicely that same description. An old bamboo fly rod that belonged to my Father, Is a friend I would not part with for any amount of dollars. And less I forget (No pun intended) our memories too are right there, with the best and oldest of our dearest, lasting friends, Conjured up at a minutes notice. And perhaps last of all, (you may have more on your list), I can not leave out the most important friendship of all, It's the friendship we have with our selves, to which I'm referring. For if that very personal friendship is not strong and on going, It's truly doubtful that we will have, or sustain for long, any others.

it's cold and dark and calm outside so you make sure that i'm tucked up tight but i need fresh air so the window is open ajar whilst there in the corner lays a battered guitar i'm high as hell so you carried me home and wrapped me up into a bed of your own you throw a lumpy mattress by the guitar on your floor and apologise in advance for the fact that you snore because i can't even remember my name may give the green light to most, to see me as 'fair game' my hair is a mess and my clothes are askew but that doesn't seem to matter to you i'm taken aback as you toss me a shirt you try to stifle your laugh but i catch you smirk as i try to escape from the clutch of my dress i hear a laugh which you fail to suppress i wrestle your shirt with my limbs in a tangle you yank it over my head, for which i am thankful i wriggle free from the blanket and sit up cross legged as you fling yourself down at the foot of your bed you tell me you've just got a text from my mother who says she trusts me with you and no other and that you are under very strict instructions to keep me away from all teenage destruction it's 1.30am and my thoughts are cotton wool but our bottle of ***** is still three quarters full my eyes spy the battered guitar in the room and i beg you to play me my favourite tune an undeniably slow start as you mess up the chords and ramble on about how i'm probably bored but my eyes fix on yours with an encouraging grin and as you continue to play, goosebumps rise on my skin and as you place the battered guitar back down you sarcastically ask whether i'm happy now the buzz of my body and the smile on my face shows that here, happiness is truly the case

I hear stories of an ancient land so pure. I see photographs of bluer than blue skies over a lake of molten gold. I drink kahwa flavoured with almond and saffron and add honey, sweetened by bees from the valley, my hips swaying in a crewel work on wool skirt. I hear songs of freedom, I know people who fled. The muezzin prays for peace over bloodstains and tears while children still play under walnut trees. Clouds gather to pray at Shankaracharya Temple on a mountain dipping its toes into water while empty shikaras speak of visiting ghosts. Mothers whose eyes never tire, looking over the sunset for long lost sons; wives who still lay out their husband’s slippers on a carpet with frayed edges. Postmen deliver letters to addresses long abandoned; a generation of elders, eyes of agate, gnarled fingers, brew tea surrounded by memories of children killed, daughters ***** I write for all people who live in war. I write for the age of innocence to return. I write for soft rain to wash away sin. I write for the return to reason. I write for peace to flutter gently through groves of apricot, almond, apple and walnut. Feel the pain. Hear the refrain. Smell the emptiness. This is now. This is now. This is not in the pages of a fading history text. This is now. This is now.

Ballad for Kashmir
We are all silhouettes Wrapped in the tapestry Of a blooming night Outlines etched messily Into a cotton wool sky Beautifully imperfect A stray wisp illuminates Sings sweet like our Honey bee laughs We smile, always Endlessly sunshine yellow For here we are youth Wild like dandelions Rebelling against being A common flower We paint the word **** In shining glitter Send it to outer space in A paper airplane Then dance on crazily Like the night is infinite Dreaming for a forever

There are grapes in my path This abundant trail now invisible as if we never were Here, to pick and preen, salvage and reap for pleasure and pain I picked you some flowers, I baked you a pie, labors of love with your own hands connected to earth. Breaking backs, and clinging sweat Under wool, denim, straw, and cotton Keeping more out than simply the sun Depleted soil Exhausted soul Bursting with juice Bountiful and hand chosen And you in a hurry just drive by Dust in the wind Skin of clay mud Day after day, A boulder among the rows Hunched in fields Blistered and callused Searching for more Ripe for the picking Migrants moving Servitude by season Benevolent harvest Handpicked strawberries By chocolate covered hands destined from birth closer to earth.

The Grapes In My Path
Out of what our hearts are made, The sea of stars above our little heads is widely spread, expanded, The river of the milkyway, seperating two lovers, with more stars, All come within a clear, manifest orbit, bound to gravity and bounty, A vally of natural nuclear fusion reactors, spreading light through the dark of the night, a play of beauty and might, on the ceiling of Earth, All shining uninterruptedly, without the intruding light of the moon, In the world of empty dreams, waiting to be filled with memories, Clusters, binary, trinary stars with their satelites, dance as celestial beings through the infinity of space, all with grace, individuality, bliss Heartfelt, past the luxury of luminosity and spinning alike wage wool Because stars are, a magic mirror to the things we are, or want to be, Weave the fate that you want to feel free, broken loose from the lies, It is best to dance with me on these fantastic grounds here with me, If we gather in a dark night, my dear knight, we can grasp fantasy, Dear trasure mine, you're, a distant eniment galactic heavenly beauty So shine on until you someday let go of this worldly life, my dearest, As then I would like to meet you in the realm of the dead again, In the loitering darkness one day. ~ Umi

Rasta by the Water
Insecurity is wool blanket drenched in water laying across my nose and mouth, every breath i take in is a wicked reminder of everything i am not. its sharp needle points prodding my pores ripping apart the skin of my throat with every word i'm unable to speak. Insecurity is facing a firing squad, every bullet comes from the mouth, every tongue a trigger, every tooth ammunition Your feet are nailed to the ground, an iron staple of your own making lacing through your toes. The worst thing about it is that your hands are bulletproof shields, and if you had the strength to raise your thousand pound arms, you could use them to block your bruised up brain. But you can't. So you don't. its being uncomfortable in your own skin, a bone shattering, helpless feeling that you cannot change this. no amount of compliments or beautiful words whispered in the darkness can fix it insecurity is the building blocks of my personality, I'm constantly tailoring everyone in my life to fit it, like a worn dress I can't walk down the hallway, down the street, through a store without the feeling of a thousand weighty words cutting into my skin In every war my mind wages against my body i stand there like marble, letting the bullets eat me alive.

a personification of crippling insecurity
At the beginning the oldest man sat on the corner of the garden wall by the road under a vast walnut tree known to have been there always he came back in the afternoon to the cave of shade in his broad black hat black jacket the striped gray wool trousers once worn only to church in winter with a cane on either side resting against the stones he said when your legs have gone all you can do is to sit this way and be useless I believe God he said that is what I am doing I am thinking and things come to me now when nobody else knows them he was visited by the dazzling of accidents the boy who caught his hand in the trip hammer and it came out like cigarette paper the man with both crushed legs dangling and the woman murdered and his father the blacksmith forging the iron fence to put around the place out on the bare slope where she had fallen I could never be the smith my father was as he always told me I was good enough you know but I never had the taste needed for scythe blades sickles kitchen knives we preferred to use carriage springs to make them from in the forge outside the barn there and his were sought after oh when he had sold all he took to the fair the others could begin I still have the die for stamping the name of the village in the blade at the end so you could be sure

Already over the sea from her old spouse she comes, the blonde goddess whose frosty wheels bring day. Why do you hurry, Aurora? Hold off, so may the birds shed ritual blood each year for Memnon's shade. Now it's good to lie in my mistress's tender arms; if ever, now it's good to feel her near. Now drowsiness is richest, the morning air is cool, and birds sing shrilly from their tender throats. Why do you hurry, dreaded by men and dreaded by girls? Draw back your dewy reins with your crimson hand. The sailor marks the stars more clearly before you rise, not raoming aimlessly across the sea; the traveller, though weary, arises when you come, and the soldier sets his savage hand to arms; you're first to see the farmers wield their heavy hoes and to call slow oxen under the curving yoke; you rob boys of their sleep and give them over to schools, where tender hands must bear the savage switch; and you send reckless fools to pledge themselves in court, where they take ruinous losses through one word; the lawyer and the pleader take no delight in you, for each must rise and wrangle with new torts; and you ensure that women's chores are never done, calling the spinner's hands back to her wool. All this I'd bear; but who would bear that girls must rise at dawn, unless himself he has no girl? How many times I've wished Night would not yield to you, the stars not fade and flee before your face! How many times I've wished the wind would smash your wheels, your steeds would stumble on a cloud and fall! Jealous, why do you hurry? If your son is black, it's since his mother's heart is that same color. How I wish Tithonus could still tell tales of you: no goddess would be more disgraced in heaven. Since he is endless eons old, you rise and flee at dawn to the chariot the old man hates, but if some Cephalus were lying in your arms, you'd cry out, 'O run slowly, steeds of night! ' Why should this lover pay, if your husband withers with age? Was I the matchmaker who brought him to you? Remember how much sleep was given to her loved youth by Luna - and she's beautiful as you. The father of gods himself, to see you all the less, joined two nights into one for his desires. I'd finished my complaint. You could tell she'd heard: she blushed; and yet the day rose at its usual time.

Sunlight on my grinning face Follows me from place to place But it won’t do Don’t know how long I can wait Wandering this empty space Searching for you Up and down the barren coast Listen as the riptide rolls With so much to say Probably what hurts the most Is knowing when you’re so **** close And still so far away Once per while I catch a glimpse Of unintended fleeting hints To call out your name Won’t make much a difference Words don’t carry far upwind It’s always the same In the breeze I see it’s just the wind It’s a tease To be at the shoreline again Shepherd, call the sheep back home Be thankful that you’re not alone Round em up one more time My, how much the herd has grown With wool to warm your gentle soul Leave no soul behind

describing wool
Sincere reassuring hugs, Touching and being touched, Caresses shared, Easy laughter exuded, Intimate whispers of affection exchanged, A fellowship of souls, Sweet Companionship spread, like frosting on a cake. As comfortable and reassuring as your favorite old wool sweater on a chilly night's weather.

A hammer upon the landscape. Thunder like a toppling mountain. Flashes like x-ray explosions. Supernova surprise. Sheets of rain. Glistening-rebar javelins Pierce the asphalt Shatter the concrete. Long shards of glass From the grey Steel-wool clouds.

out of steel wool skies
i breathe one breath at a time each inhalation linked to the exhalation before it yet every breath stands alone there's something tenuous about it this soft machine is on thin ice devoured by time in innocent increments like a moth nibbles away wool my heart little gorilla wearing itself out rubber glove with a hole in it weird luck my eyes are bright solar blue ball lanterns if you saw me you would say good bones river of envy yet all hinges on a muscular rhythmic pulsating machine like a determined jaw chewing jumpy mouth yet on the verge of betrayal a glitch karmic indecision   in destinies wheel house a red fist locus banging ones immense sense of self a vainglorious elaboration built over a small pulsating muscle innocuous dumb blood flesh knot drumming scarlet tribe throne of my very soul great sovereign old man in a crib splitting open of its own accord   a sudden rip from life to a dead sea eternity the final frontier starless night

I BREATHE
Saturday Sounds like the pattering Of bare feet On a dusty concrete yard, Smells of chimney smoke And jagged coal heath, Sheep-scent and Wiry wool on a barbed fence, Saturday Is a jangly guitar In a rickety truck On a gravel road, With a gravel voice Rough as grit, Deep as the caverns Between the peaks, Saturday Is sunlight on an enamel *** A tin kettle And its blood metal tea, It is blackberry-bitten legs and iodine streams, A canopy of heady bracken Below penny-marked trees, Then Sunday, Slantwise Against the setting sun Away again.

ABC Poem (Animals)
Come live with me, and be my love, And we will all the pleasures prove, That hills and valleys, dales and fields, And all the craggy mountain yields. There we will sit upon the rocks, And see the shepherds feed their flocks By shallow rivers, to whose falls Melodious birds sing madrigals. And I will make thee beds of roses, With a thousand fragrant posies, A cap of flowers and a kirtle Embroidered all with leaves of myrtle; A gown made of the finest wool, Which from our pretty lambs we pull; Fair lined slippers for the cold, With buckles of the purest gold; A belt of straw and ivy buds, With coral clasps and amber studs; And if these pleasures may thee move, Come live with me, and be my love. The shepherd swains shall dance and sing For thy delight each May morning: If these delights thy mind may move, Then live with me, and be my love.

The Passionate Shepherd To His Love
Book of life brings various mysterious chapters, one such spells my visit to village.. It was so awe aspiring, but no man's clock can be rewinded to bring that timeless age... I shouted in wilderness like the way toy means to infant's rejoice... my words couldn't jump over the peaks, bouncing back my voice... I was panting and cramps got better of me,pushing me to rest on flat limestone... But enjoying every bit of that pilgrimage and witnessing melodious chirping tone... I resumed my journey upwards but soon grey clouds triggered the quenching rain... Closing my eyes,i opened my arm, kids with cherry cheeks called me tenuous insane... It seemed as if almighty took me to the heaven, being surrounded by the flowery and green hills... In the east breeze those school kids were skidding down the slope with their paper windmills.. An aged shepherd was looking for some shelter, not for himself but for his lamb and sheep.. Such care, such love, that's why the wool machine searched the banyan where her master could sleep... Some urbans haven't travelled to such pictures just because of it's tech- remoteness.. Wish i had my own hut in the vicinity of woods giving utmost peace, but I'm hapless... Darkness is floating through narrow lane yet eye catches only citylight.. But wish i could dream again in countryside under shiny moonlight..
