cruelly, love walk the autumn long; the last flower in whose hair, they lips are cold with songs for which is first to wither,to pass? shallowness of sunlight falls, and cruelly, across the grass Comes the moon love, walk the autumn love, for the last flower in the hair withers; thy hair is acold with dreams, love thou art frail —walk the longness of autumn smile dustily to the people, for winter who crookedly care.

Cruelly,Love
Damaged people are dangerous because they know how to survive, And if you've never been damaged you don't know how it feels to be alive, See struggle is the sauce that gives success its flavour, when life kicked you down it was doing you a favour. Cos it's in your darkest hour, not in prosperity that you will realise your true ability. Life dunks you in deep waters not to drown you but to cleanse you. And that's just the beginning of what it will put you through. But it's chiselling you down, you won't deflate. It's not wearing you thin, it's getting you to your fighting weight. Prosperity makes monsters, adversity makes men. I believe when you reach the top life will yank you back down again. You didn't break down, you just had a flat tyre so get back up and relight that fire. keep it burning and churning at the pit of your heart and keep on learning and yearning and never fall apart. Stare life in the eyes and say "no matter how many times my spirit won't break if my drive never dies" So throw me a burden I won't lose my composure, It's for this very reason that life gave me shoulders. Get better not bitter This weather will wither I'll turn wounds into wisdom sadness into spirit tears to tenacity I will never quit it Take a deep breath and concentrate your stare because a road with no obstacles never took you anywhere.

A road with no obstacles
this is a tale of two star-crossed lovers with a love so powerful they tainted the heavens with bursts of colours they were never meant to be; mischievous little kids finding love in sinful glee in laughter, between dreams and reality and though it was lawless, they found solace because in every prison, they found a rhyme and a reason but even for a love so great, they could not escape the fates’ wrath and envy destiny pulled on their threads cut them loose, thrusted them into misery; for their memories were wiped clean, but feelings remained as strong as they had ever been the boy exiled in a far off land across the pacific sea the girl trapped in her need to break free in a realm both boring and bland ensnared in a labyrinth of woe the lovers yearned for anything— for something, for someone, to obliterate this endless longing the gods answered them in the form of two loved ones polished in every edge, a perfect someone but perfect felt too perfect and not perfect enough to fill up the hole left by a perfectly imperfect until one day the gods whispered for the winds to push the two and the birds to tug at their sleeves over mountain and sea even through the darkest valley so their paths would finally meet and so they did. in the flurry of a moment a pair of brown eyes met and time was frozen once more the two stared intently as if remembering a broken melody a lost childhood song branded as a wrong the birds fluttered and flew taking the cursed red fibre snipped them in two and the lovers felt all the lighter it was the girl who spoke first: **** the stars. i don’t want perfect, i want you.”* eyes dazzling, the boy nodded: *“we’ll invert the universe— the night sky a blank white the stars pitch black the earth moving in reverse”* the fates saw and surrendered as the stars began to wither for this love is love in all its splendor so the lovers walked away with a promise under their breaths, they both swore: *“i lost you once, but nevermore.”* ****

The poet writes words of what a friendship so dear Have you ever seen a blue sky that is more clear Words growing much like the flowers in spring The poet writes words even more beautiful to sing This friendship a seed that’s been planted in the ground The poet’s words make it grow, oh how it abounds Now a bud growing strong petals opening in the light The poet compares our friendship to a gem in the night The flowers grow more beautiful as the rain pours down A friendship now shinning just like a golden crown The poet keeps writing on as the flowers nourish Telling of the friendship how it has begun to flourish Fall being near the soft petals of flowers now falling The poet writes of a long time friendship calling Even though the flower petals may wither away Our friendship still grows even more each day Much like the winding of a road begins to bend The poet’s words sadly now coming to an end Much like the sunshine rises every dawn May our loving friendship continue to grow on

Writing of a Friendship
(Inspired by and dedicated to John Edward Smallshaw, and his "Spice") I am a summer-man, Because I'm blessed to sit by the sea. Let it and the other two Musketeers, boon companions to me, Sun and Wind, erase my discomposure as I reside in the Poet's Nookery. Let them have almost all that troubles, but not all. I am a summer-man. On the bay, on the beach, I see birth, I see death, osprey nests, carcasses of mussels and horseshoe ***** This, somehow reassuring, the cycles, this circularity, the tides and inevitability. I am a summer-man. Student of languages seasonal, Peaches, plums, cherries, poetry and loving Woman.^ This, the  summer alphabet-soup of my multiple tongues. I am a summer-man. Sancerre and Pinot Gris, super cold, Paul Simon, Nina Simone, with proper aging, getting  hotter, Salsa and Afrikaner hints, super louder, Even "Still Crazy After All These Years," that-who-wud-be-me, chills outer.^^ I am a summer-man. When ever this lad's writes appear, it proves once again, there is no truth that his   name was once Dr. Seuss In a prior life, even if each is signed by Ogdiddy Nash** I am a summer-man. **Disrespectful of the calendar, if I can, try to make summer season stretch-marks from May to October. I would add April, but the IRS is already ****** at me.^^^ Though the cherry blossoms of May now gone away, the lilies of June arrive, but but for a week or two, soon, like my mom, withered away. Acorns in August^^^^ have arrived too swiftly.** This summer, beloved, and love of summer, deep-rooted. Season of my Peter Pan Poetry Galore Festival. Your face is always into sunshine; It gives hope and clear aura to everyone. The way your eyes say Hi whenever you smile; It lessens up a bad vibe not just for awhile. You are clothed with strength and dignity. And you laugh without fearing the future and reality. In the darkest days of your life; I know you’ll stand tall to find the sunlight. You won’t bloom to where you’ve planted. I know you’ll explore more to get started. It’s your goal for a better life to get; Pursuing to reach your dreams and to be contented. You are a flower that will not wither. It’s because you know how to get yourself watered. Even in cloudy days turned rainy. You still know how to make yourself shiny. Your influence is like spreading seeds; Planting good vibes to the ones who are in need. You are a sunshine that lightens up a day. A sunflower that smiles, feeling like summer. © Quenniebells, 2015

My Own Kind Of Sunflower
I had no idea how terrible it all was Until I matured a bit and opened my eyes It cleared the mist that I often now miss From the eyes of an unwilling devil Seeing the tragedy unfold from a first-person level I remember it all from that god awful view The bad things I’ve done, over which I had no control The outcomes I hoped with the manifestation of some Who am I kidding - I’ve been among a fortunate few Except for the fact that life dealt me an ace with a ****** ***** Not quite like anyone - an outcasted sole With depressive thoughts - eating them straight from the bowl Until euphoria strikes - then I’m a lightning bolt These emotional storms - they strike me as cold Who am I to cry and complain about life Everyone is united by the suffering light The random subscription to a life with a set rhythm If only I could command my heart not to wither

Euphoria strikes
Can I be graced by a kiss from your aura, Does the same feeling reside deep down inside, We’ve been separated for so long my friend, It scares me to see you like this, Abrupt erections long gone, The insecurity of prolonged exposure, Sequences of nausea, Seek and destroy, The sickening of the tunnel vision, How strange it seems now, To look back at you, How amazing it is, To be myself again, Made different by time, The same ****** hole, The singular aspect of oneness, The grand expanse seemed so small, Ironically, Now seems to drag on with the whistles and clangs, The bangs the song the spiral never ends. Somewhere a part of my innocence was left behind, Left to wither in the shared tunnel, The smell of the air expelled made the hairs In my nostrils stand on end and dissolve. Now that I think about where I came from, What happened to me to this point, I’m happy it didn’t end so soon, That I’ve been reunited, Drawing a conclusion doesn’t seem so difficult, When the beginning is just around the corner.

REUNITED
*you to go to him, you're throwing yourself in danger, to dream of such dangerous dream, stop now, let your heart rest, my heart shreads to pieces watching you grieve.* *you smile to me, as if nothing had happened, in reality, you tremble, wither, scowl away, come to me, rest yourself in the arms of mine, by dawn, fly to the moon.* *a place where we can't be together, a place where I can't go, that's okay, as long as you are safe.* *my sad story, can never be fulfilled in bliss, but instead, just this once, stop.* Your wings will get wet

Moonlight.
There's an ancient, ancient garden that I see sometimes in dreams, Where the very Maytime sunlight plays and glows with spectral gleams; Where the gaudy-tinted blossoms seem to wither into grey, And the crumbling walls and pillars waken thoughts of yesterday. There are vines in nooks and crannies, and there's moss about the pool, And the tangled weedy thicket chokes the arbour dark and cool: In the silent sunken pathways springs a herbage sparse and spare, Where the musty scent of dead things dulls the fragrance of the air. There is not a living creature in the lonely space arouna, And the hedge~encompass'd d quiet never echoes to a sound. As I walk, and wait, and listen, I will often seek to find When it was I knew that garden in an age long left behind; I will oft conjure a vision of a day that is no more, As I gaze upon the grey, grey scenes I feel I knew before. Then a sadness settles o'er me, and a tremor seems to start - For I know the flow'rs are shrivell'd hopes - the garden is my heart.

I don't know how to write happy poems because I don't really believe in them. I thought angst would die with adolescence, but alas I can still feel its cold dint. Perhaps like virginity this goes too; no longer a creep standing idly by. Plastic smiles taped to our cardboard faces and yours alone I felt the need to prise. That's okay, because the teenaged rosebud that we claim to be so very unique is beginning to wither, can't you see? And now it's the thorns society seeks. So look out over yonder cityscape. Your mask shall be shed only by the moon. Until then, a cartographer of love; yours that is, we'll still pathetically swoon.

A Self-Conscious Ode to the Teen Age
I have fallen I won't be there to break the waves, to dust the dirt with bare skin off your face. You either wither and die or dance with the coral. Catch the sun with your eyes break the surface while your body sings. Swim with the kelp beds or tangle beneath the hooks & the strings.

[mermaid]
All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring; Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king.

All That is Gold
The seeds of truth and love and light are scattered all around Some among thorns and rocks or on the path, but some will find good ground These are the conditions in which our souls can be found Those among rocky soil are shallow and cannot take hold When the heat is on in life they wither truth be told And at times it seems they act distant mechanical and cold Amidst the thorns and weeds the souls that fall Find their deaths in the earthly siren’s call Thirdly they that fall on hardened soil build up a rugged wall Response to pain or suffering one creates a shield For fear of getting hurt again but needing to be healed Difficult to break through or down to deliver truth revealed Finally the soul that falls on fertile soil and grows deep root Healthy and pure they bear plentiful and beautiful fruit This can be our destiny and our lives can follow suit At different times in our life our souls can be Any one of the soul’s soils you see But we can choose and act any of these So let us strive without end to find good soil not to break but to bend Not to weaken but to heal not to tear but mend and seal Set your seal upon us Lord and help us have the strength and grace Sign your name upon our hearts as we sign ourselves with the father son and holy spirit Deliver us from temptation and sin to your heart Oh Lord and we pray for our soul’s deliverance AMEN

Sowing Souls and their Soils
I need positivity like a sunflower needs the sun So what do I do when I'm given none? I'm fed poison and breathe out joy Bringing life through photosynthesis Using my outward appearance to make people smile But I'm cut at the stem To be given to some much more special than I And slowly start to rot I'm given as a gift Once I wither away and my fresh scent is gone They throw me away and keep moving on No one thinks about the sunflowers Until they're gone.

The Sunflowers
Silent as the storm Black as the nights sky You never know when its coming Temperature ranging from hot to cold Moon swings come and they go She can make you feel like the lowest **** on earth Or make you feel like a King We are in a league of our own The take no mess take charge kind of woman Sweet as honey beautiful as the sunset She’ll drain you and leave you begging for more With her smooth complexion hair just right Dress to impress and the legs smooth as silk Her take charge attitude with sophistication Can work the room in any situation Wither in the boardroom, fancy restaurant or at home with family and friends She can cut you down without missing a beat Leave you standing there wondering what happen A work of art in her own right A independent women but can make you feel Like you are needed always treating you like you the man A way with words that will leave no room argument Will cut so deep leave you grasping for breath But you can never want to hurt this woman Cuz she can turn on you like Cain turn on Abel We are devious creatures and with a devious mind And a women who is scorn is a dangerous combination A woman with so much confidence It will make you sit up and take notice But at the same time she knows her place As a women by your side While all the while bringing home the bacon, cook it and serve it to you like royalty Watch out cause she’s on the rise As a strong independent black woman Never fearing of the two strikes against her In this mans world that we live in So watch out, take notice and pay attention because she is unstopable

why do i crumble fall into pieces of oats and sugar something beautiful in a white bowl, but a mess on the floor when i wake up in an empty house why do i wither like brown leaves under brand new and borrowed boots atop autumn sidewalks when i’m alone, i’m alone, i’m alone it is not enough to eat breakfast however small to wash my hair with coconut milk to not step out into the busy street; i freeze before the ice touches me i do not allow the chance to warm my own hands i lie down, on ***** sheets, and wait for someone anyone anything to awaken me

the slightest bit lonely
Even the most beautiful flower Needs to be daily showered with water For it to grow lovelier Or else it will wither. Just like our dreams and aspirations, We need daily inspirations For us to keep going Or else our hearts will stop hoping.

Inspiration
'Why is it so painful to grow?' A seed. Just a seed buried under the ground. Under the pressure of the soil, It fights to grow. The seed cracks, such a sturdy little seed, opens with a painful snap. A sprout coils out. Out of the cracked little seed. A sprout now crushed under, Under the pressure of the unforgiving ground. Yet still... It grows. A little sprout, Now reaches up. Up and away from the little seed, and up to the light of the sun. Pushing and groaning it bursts out. Out from the unforgiving ground. Yet now new dangers are to be found. Will it be trampled Or eaten alive? The possibilities are endless, The ways it could die. And still.. it grows. The sprout toils endlessly, always stretching and growing Reaching for the crimson sun. The rain falls down beating upon the sprout. Pelting it's skin and whipping it about. It skin hardens painfully, and sprout becomes stem. And still It grows. The stem keeps reaching, Stretching to the sky. The stem then splits It rips in two a bud appears A little bud, With so much to do. Then the bud breaks A crack appears a petal unfurls from within. Then it's a bloom. Such a sweet little thing. Until the crack stretches So the bloom can grow In to the beautiful rose We've all come to know. And still.. it grows. Thorns burst free Breaking out of the stem And petals billow and grow in the breeze. Then you see me, And my beauty delights you, So you wish to see me every day. And your scissors encircle me To give you your way. They cut me in half. They slice me in two. being a rose, There was naught I could do. You carry me with you, Your hands coated in my blood, I'm dying slowly, All for your love. And now... I can't grow. So as I bleed and wither in pain, You place me in a vase Or press me in a book, All to save the bloom for another day. And as I gasp for air, Among your dry pages, You leech me of all life, Perfectly preserved just so I could last the ages. Or else I am drowning In glass and water My beauty wasted hour by hour Day by day All to satisfy your whimsical ways. And now all I wish to know, 'Why is it so painful to grow?'

When they buried me in the dark, I was frightened. I didn’t like the taste of earth. And I was so thirsty. Some people are no good with plants, Even the hardiest shrubs Wither and wilt in their careless hands. You aren’t one of them. When no-one else could see, You took such good care of me. Water, warmth and love. These are my needs, but I had no voice With which to ask; without you I would have remained inert A lost life, in the dirt. See now, how I blossom? Just a shoot, but I will astound them all With my beauty, in time. Thank you for caring for me, Thank you for helping me to grow.

The Gardener and The Seed
To the girl who thinks it will be awkward because she rejected me I had an interest in you not only because I saw you as a suitable mating partner But because there are some decent ******* human beings in this world who actually want to get to know each other So just because you said no to a date with me doesn't mean you have to erase me from your life's history But getting to know someone is like opening a random box, you don't know if it will be a diamond ring or a dying rose. something that once was, but not meant to be beautiful, just like my intent to get to know you And I carry my intentions around in my pocket so I can drop them off at your door and walk away when you don't open it I'll leave them behind in case you ever want to see what's on the other side, but just like the rose if you wait too long something that once was beautiful will wither away.
