"winters" poems
You may not have been birthed in the soil, and granted, you will not blossom when spring melts winters wake but inside of you grows a thousand gardens full of exploding stars. You are of the earth and your ashes have been constructed with stardust, and set free with the wind. So you may not have a pretty face, and your body may hold stories of too many moonless nights alone. But if you reach inside, you will find a forest for a ribcage and a restless ocean heart. So don't ever let anyone tell you you are nothing. You are a galaxy holding a million different planets, and my dear, that is not nothing.

The man who kept his emotions at bay drowned in them all one winters day

We went wild when all the stars came out. We went wild when all the flowers burst apart. We ran across the earth barefoot and with our electric hearts, beating to the harmonies of nature. There isn't anything that I desire but the satisfaction that freedom offers. Wrapped up in rays from the sun, I celebrate myself, while we sing only of glee. You cleaned my soul and showed me how to grow with each spring. You pushed me through the winters until the days when all life was reborn.

We Went Wild
Who would think a rose so sweet Would dry and crumble at the feet And blooms that scent the night and day Would steal a heart, then fade away With petals soft and fondly red Sweet essence fills an addled head Then turns to dust before the eyes Leaving naught, but sad surprise Who would think such thorny vine Could lift a blossom as divine And by the stem on which it stands Could so wrong an offered hand Such strength and beauty is rarely true A blessing owned by very few As 'neath the soil, in winters keep There sleeps a rose to tear a cheek Who would think that perfect bloom Could be a bane, a curse of doom So fine a sight, yet in disguise A rose to ***** and blind the eyes

A Rose
the silent tress hold memories of winters sweet melodies search high and low and in every fox hole where oh where.. can she be?.. oh feet that quickly flee who then holds your stories or keeps you... in times keep but the trees and stones that stay beside roads you gave a glance to safely keep but in every time of past and new they pass by you without speaking speak beginning , end ...old and new oh what stories you doth keep

Quote#1- Seventy-five years. That's how much time you get if you're lucky. Seventy-five years. Seventy-five Winters. Seventy-five Springtimes. Seventy-five Summers. And Seventy-five Autumns. When you look at it like that, it's not a lot of time, is it? Don't waste them. Get your head out of the rat race and forget about the superficial things that pre-occupy your existence and get back to what's important now. Right Now. This very second. And I'm not saying, drop everything and let the world come to a grinding halt. I'm saying that you could become a seeker. You could be loving more. You could be taking some chances. You could be living more. You could be spending more time with your family. You could be getting in touch with the part of you that lives instead of fears; the part of you that loves instead of hates; the part of you that recognizes the humanity in all of us. And I tell you, That's where you're fortunate.. Quote #2- Your good is Better and your better is Blessed!...

I lay awake in bed one late night Letting memories wash over me When a memory wondered into my brain A memory of my childhood Back to late nights Just as this one When I was cuddled up With my soft big blue blanket It was torn at the edges One edge missing completly It kept me worm in the winters Made a great fort in the summers Held me tight during nightmares Wiped my tears when I cried Let me rest in its vast softness Made an elegant dress for dress up The best padding for play fights Made for the best tug-of-war Between my brother and I It made me feel at home on long trips Kept me company On the couch when I was sick Now where is my Cuddly childhood blanket? In a box in the attic Waiting for once again When it can be held tight In the arms of a child

Big Blue Blanket
The tide collects it all by morning; The drama and the ***** napalmed across the path. The scenes at second warning for most had been swept away Before they wiped the sand from their shoes. Empty cans of Dutch and Tuborg slouched on the dunes Are tight-lipped about the Velvet Strand's secret ecosystem; An underground microcosm; A peripheral cluster of seething emotions drowned. Memories of those years - although some expired, The vestiges take pride of place - hold a cosmic clump of smells, Tastes, firsts, goosebumps, hangovers, and ends. I never before understood what I was holding on to. Winters down in the shelters nearly killed us but we Huddled through the cold, lit cheap firelogs and Found our oblivion. It didn't take much for me to develop   A stagger - tolerance for a lot of things was learned later. I narrowly recall my first taste of poor judgement and Hazy-headed stargazing. Six cans of Stonehouse Dry cider - most of which ended up on the hillside - Was a ridiculous endeavour that will always be sublime. At the heart of it, I did it to impress a girl; The one every boy has or has had that sticks; Who holds your firsts and your hands and makes Things simple if only for her complexity; The one that never fails to bring upon digression when Pens are involved. Revisiting reminiscence on a jarring note, I think of my Junior Cert exams and a cross-dressed man Exposing himself to two uniformed boys behind the public toilets. This one doesn't stir the joy of the others. This one I wish would dissolve; An ugly, awkward blotch on a childhood. Luckily fondness trumps disgust when recalling that place Because of sunrises and sunsets absorbed from the roof. The Summers spent jumping the gap and drowning in the Heat of the sun were everything. The fugitive sand between our toes and under finger nails Became an accepted nuisance, a part of the territory; A lingering grain or two to drag you back. I miss waking up with the smell of last night's faded fire.

Dear beautiful evergreen rooted down in the field strongly upholding itself like it has an impenetrable shield The one that has experienced blazing summers and freezing winters not only seen warfare but watched it from the center winds blew it west and east but it never went left or right had blood on its leaves but never got into a fight Dear beautiful evergreen That stands there all yearlong keep your roots rooted and continue to be strong

My temptation, My alluring forbidden fruit A succulent and sweet taste Lies within those soft lips But still, i must distance myself With you just beyond my grasp My temptation, My alluring, forbidden fruit   With fair skin, as soft and white As a winters first snow. Captivating me with your touch My temptation, My alluring, forbidden fruit No matter how hard I fight it From the very first taste, That first stolen kiss I became addicted. To you, My sweet forbidden fruit

forbidden fruit
* * Your soul is the moon after dawn A vapour who sings of love as well as pain A delicate blossom that twirls with zephyrs Fragrant and enriched by the snow's kiss The geese have fled from iced lakes long preserved with whispers of old In the shade of bamboo, my flute is heard, carried to you by the frost-kissed air Your soul, a vapour, the moon after dawn Hear my hymn of peace, till winters turn to fawn * *

Fawn
*... My eyes, To mirror your sighs, I will give you my smile, To dance with your smile, I will give you my hands, For you to paint the beauty Of the fertile lands In the hills of Tuscany. I will give you my open arms To surround your shoulders, When you feel cold during the winters. I will give you my soft kisses To dry up your tears On your pale cheeks So I can chase your fears. I will give you my memory, For you to remember Our forgotten kisses, if any. I will tell you some of my secrets, Even the ones from the Pool, In case you show interest, And there you would think I'm a fool. And of course I will give you My Ocean Blue, For you to dive into. But I will never give you Anything that can hurt you. Somehow, You need to know That I can only give all this When you come back from the abyss To which you've decided to depart, Leaving me alone to dream of you, With art.*

pigeons still wait for meals by that bench where Sun once grew in tufts of gold girls skipping classes to window shop their scarves wild and their nails chipped tough boys go out and smoke and cough and dance and act brave and cut their hair in the dark and words of a new language tumble down our tongues head over heels tasting strange but falling into place after all

our winters
Sitting in Circular Quay in a bistro on a warm winters day dreaming while watching the tourists and ships sail by. As I eat oysters and drink the day in with my wine, past memories wash over me. Morning teas, chats, and paper bark trees, hikes through the bush and walks along the beach. Watching dolphins play at dawn and fishing the waters on New South Wales shores. The Harbor Bridge alight with Bicentennial Fireworks; a surreal beginning to this adventure. Wringing every drop from days spent, finding a new world with each step. Discovering myself through the wisdom and eyes of you, maturing, becoming my own. Like family, you’ve been both mentor and friend, carrying me through fire and back. My life was undone as I first saw your shore. Feeling my heart would break with our first goodbyes, unknowing that an permanent bond had been forged. Tracing back over the years since we met, I’ve been given more than my share. Making me ponder how I have been blessed, to count you as a true friend.

SITTING IN CIRCULAR QUAY
5am, I sit alone my mind feeling so bright is it early morning or the middle of the night. The wind still howls winters tune and trees are dancing in the dale. I yearn for sun and summers warmth but all I get is cold and hail. So comeback Mr Sunshine please to keep me warm and give me ease. The winters blues do not please, just make me shiver, cough and sneeze. The days start dark and keep me hidden as if to say that it's forbidden, to laugh and sing and have the fun I get from walking in the sun. So comeback Mr Sunshine please to keep me warm and give me ease. The winters blues do not please, just make me shiver, cough and sneeze. I long to see the flowers smile, the shadows form on my sundial. The smell of grass that's freshly mown, the shoots from seeds so freshly sown. So comeback Mr Sunshine please to keep me warm and give me ease. The winters blues do not please, just make me shiver, cough and sneeze. Smiling children everywhere running around without a care. Winter woollens stashed away and let's forget those rainy days. So comeback Mr Sunshine please to keep me warm and give me ease. The winters blues do not please, just make me shiver, cough and sneeze. Take away this winters cold it only makes me feel old. Bring the sun and bring the light and take away this awful night. So comeback Mr Sunshine please to keep me warm and give me ease. The winters blues do not please, just make me shiver, cough and sneeze. Early morning sun please shine, and as I sit with glass of wine. I'll try to not let my mind splinter and forget all about the winter. So comeback Mr Sunshine please to keep me warm and give me ease. The winters blues do not please, just make me shiver, cough and sneeze. So comeback Mr Sunshine please and take away this cold disease. Once again to see you glow and throw your warmth through my window.

Life is a rose Sometimes it showers you in its petals Sometimes it makes you grab it by the thorns But even when you bleed the rose is still the prettiest gift you'll ever recieve My favorite flower will always be the radiant sunflower, But my life sprouts from the seed of a rose And I may never be as tall or happy as a sunflower But I still refuse to walk away from the sun The beams like glitter dancing off a dream A dream I'm too small and scared to reach I am not afraid of being and accepting who I am This little garden patch grows despite going through the harshest summers, dryest droughts, and most desperate winters Other roses wilt and wither away I make this garden shine with the sunflowers in my eyes

Sunflowers
We all look forward to the snowdrops The harbinger of spring In many shades of white Offtimes tinged with green Beautiful, oh so beautiful Sweeping swathes of green tinged white But they shrink into nothingness Against the aconite Aconite of deepest gold Brighter than the sun Aconite the first to show Amid deep winters gloom When the aconite first does show Bluetits start to flit and sing You see it's not the snowdrop Who is the harbinger of spring

Snowdrops and Aconites
Once upon a winters eve, there was a young little fox. As she played around in the forest and snowy plains she kept trying to walk along the thick snowbanks. But she always seemed to fall into the snow. In the distance there was a older, but still young, snow leopard, watching and giggling as the little fox kept falling through. The snow leopard decided to get up and walk closer to the fox and softly he said with a happy laugh, "so what are you trying to accomplish?"The little fox looked up at the leopard with an annoyed looked as she poutingly explained, "The snow is to high and I am to small, and I can't seem to walk on top of it." She then sighed softly. The snow leopard laughed and smiled, "You can't just jump on it then. You can't try to walk on it," the leopard said with a grin. The little fox looked up at him in befuddlement with her bright blue eyes. The leopard slowly walked around the snow hole she was in and proceeded to explain, "You have to let it lift you," he smiled, picking her up by the scruff carefully, takeing her out of the hole and softly placing her on a less deep part of the snow bank, "Only when you understand this, may you be able to walk atop the snow."The little fox was still confused but was willing to learn, "What do you mean 'let it lift you'?" the little fox asked. The leopard smiled and lay on the snow, sticking his paws into the snow, "Every flake, like us, is different. Each one being different gives it it's own type of life, melting fast, or melting slow. Sticking firm, or lightly." he then softly blows the snow off his paws into her direction, "You have to let life of each of the snow flake be as unique as your life is and let it lift you. Let them lift you, as if it they were trying to show you somewhere new, to bring you places." He got up and started walking off atop of the snow, but then stopped and turning around and said with a big smile "Now do you see?" The little fox was still kinda confused, but when she looked at the beautiful snow, and saw each snowflake, a different shape, a different size, she smiled and believed what he said. The little fox looked back up at the leopard and softly placed her paw down on the snow before she said to him softly, "I think I get it..." She was afraid but she slowly started walking on top of the snow, step by step, not looking down, But looking to the leopard as she got closer to him. The leopard with a happy laugh, smiled and congratulated her, "There you go. Like a natural." The little fox smiled brightly and ran up to the snow leopard happily and excitedly asking him, "What can you teach me next?"The leopard laughed and patted her head with his paw. "My my, Looks like I have a little apprentice" the leopard said with a smirk, "We shall see where the wind and sun takes us and what lessons we have to learn as the days go on," the leopard said as they both started walking out into the setting sunlight.

With cooler nights and soft warm days. quilts for the beds, days breeze welcome. We say goodbye to summer's blaze. Gold, orange and red are my Chrysanthemums, as fall doggedly leaves the desert kingdom. Soon will be gone, the light weight jackets. Leaves, will finally, dance from the trees. Goodbye to all the Farmer's Markets. While I warm my hands round a cup of hot tea, powdered sugar snow, in the hills I see. The bird bath has a coat of ice, small creatures go off and hibernate. My home is redolent with baking spice, red berries in the bushes, so ornate. It's Winters time to dominate.

I Welcome Winter
Silence A deafening blow to the heart as our love lies dying like wilting flowers on a cold winters night Silence Leaves me out cold Torn and broken Rejected and scarred Lifeless and alone Silence Words without sound Love without a song I loved you once upon a time But the silence killed us.

Silence
Behold, The embers of the sky, Telling myths, a winters night, Winds blowing, trees bowing, Often, they whispered a voice, Warming toes, a freezing nose, An aurora, a sight out of coast. Behold, Each glory of design, Sparkles wooingly outshine, An epitome of colors playing, Often seeking its own grand, Forming from an artist hand, Someone will but no one can. Behold, As memories out spores, Bound of keys, tied with thee, A Moet of an enduring heart, Sprung out of an idled dream, A man-woman of abstract art, Weaving as embers sky depart.
