You are going to ask: and where are the lilacs? and the poppy-petalled metaphysics? and the rain repeatedly spattering its words and drilling them full of apertures and birds? I'll tell you all the news. I lived in a suburb, a suburb of Madrid, with bells, and clocks, and trees. From there you could look out over Castille's dry face: a leather ocean. My house was called the house of flowers, because in every cranny geraniums burst: it was a good-looking house with its dogs and children. Remember, Raul? Eh, Rafel? Federico, do you remember from under the ground my balconies on which the light of June drowned flowers in your mouth? Brother, my brother! Everything loud with big voices, the salt of merchandises, pile-ups of palpitating bread, the stalls of my suburb of Arguelles with its statue like a drained inkwell in a swirl of hake: oil flowed into spoons, a deep baying of feet and hands swelled in the streets, metres, litres, the sharp measure of life, stacked-up fish, the texture of roofs with a cold sun in which the weather vane falters, the fine, frenzied ivory of potatoes, wave on wave of tomatoes rolling down the sea. And one morning all that was burning, one morning the bonfires leapt out of the earth devouring human beings -- and from then on fire, gunpowder from then on, and from then on blood. Bandits with planes and Moors, bandits with finger-rings and duchesses, bandits with black friars spattering blessings came through the sky to **** children and the blood of children ran through the streets without fuss, like children's blood. Jackals that the jackals would despise, stones that the dry thistle would bite on and spit out, vipers that the vipers would abominate! Face to face with you I have seen the blood of Spain tower like a tide to drown you in one wave of pride and knives! Treacherous generals: see my dead house, look at broken Spain : from every house burning metal flows instead of flowers, from every socket of Spain Spain emerges and from every dead child a rifle with eyes, and from every crime bullets are born which will one day find the bull's eye of your hearts. And you'll ask: why doesn't his poetry speak of dreams and leaves and the great volcanoes of his native land? Come and see the blood in the streets. Come and see The blood in the streets. Come and see the blood In the streets!

I am Christian. I believe in the Trinity of the Holy God, The Son, and The Spirit, I believe that Jesus is the Son of God and the savior of mankind I own more than three Bibles I teach Sunday School every week and I pray every night. I am Christian, And as such I Hate queer.... Phobia. I can not stand intolerance And I cry at hatred, Blood running in the streets, Fear running in veins, Running away from the truth. I am Christian, yet There are bloodstains in my Bible And the prayers on my lips Are for forgiveness for who I am. The entire story of ***** is Crossed out, blacked out angrily In the dead of night In all 4 versions, Leviticus is blurred, Wrinkled with my tears, Soaked with my pain. I am Christian And I am not homophobic. I know my church won't recognize Non cis-het marriages, Leaving entire worlds of rainbows in the dark The higher-ups insist Weddings are white, shiny, husband-and-wife, happily-ever-after affairs That shove me and my friends, my family, my lovers, Into closets of heavenly wrath and Fire and brimstone sermons, Locked into personal hells of shame And confusion. I am Christian And I am not straight. My God doesn't hate me for who I love, He loves me because I try not to hate. So to the homophobic Christians, I ask: Who is your God? Who is your God that supposedly condemns people He has created in his own image? Your rainbow picket signs are nothing but a cruel mockery of a covenant Not truly shared by you. Your tongues are no better than the viper's who called Adam and Eve to sin, You are the vipers of my world. Do you think you avoid judgement When trans teens are killed By the bullets you spit with your words? Who is your God, That tells you to picket the funerals Of those you hate? Who is your God, That refuses to let you open your heart to differentness? I am Christian, And I don't need your permission to Love my God. Take my scars and tear-stained Bibles, Listen to my fervent prayers, Watch my lips tremble when I listen to my pastor. I don't need your permission To love who I want, In fact I don't want it. Take my midnight screaming and fear of coming out, Listen to my frantic pleading for a hand to hold, Watch my eyes linger on her chest. I am Christian. My God doesn't hate me for who I love, He hates you who refuse to love While you carry His name, if Not his blessing. So I ask again Who is your God? Because mine loves all of me, All 5'6" of queer pride. Who is your God?

I feel like a friend-- a true friend, is more than a profile on a website. And peace is more than a handshake agreement brought by the outcome of a gruesome fight. The Shadow Puppet (Jogjakarta)
Her eyes burned from ammonia and snow as she shoveled the driveway in the parts where the cat litter failed to appropriate traction. This is what cars are for she said before she slipped away onto a twin mattress next to pile of laundry and a pillow of books. Sleeping with dryer hot clothes is only comfortable until you realize you are still alone and loneliness is only formidable when you know it is indefinite. So she folded each item into a pile and wondered if a suitcase wouldn't be better than her dresser. But running away is not an answer like pit bulls and vipers having daughters, even though they ran out of formaldehyde and jars.

with moonlight, he travels mostly at night, past snoring hikers and embers of fires that cooked their food, kept darkness at bay, and heard what they had to say if the coals could only speak, perhaps he would find the right circle of stones, a black heap of carbon that once glowed red and gold, and her tale would be told at least he would know the last words she spoke in this wilderness--whether she chose to vanish into the deep wood, fodder for the scavengers or was the prey of evil men, who lurk at every turn--in bustling city and quiet forest as well--vipers who strike without warning, without curse or cause when the moon's light wanes, he moves yet in darkness, feeling his way, a nocturnal detective, hoping to find what the others have given up for lost and registered among the dead: sign or scent of her--black coals or white bones, a piece of tattered clothing, the canvas backpack with her name, the hiking boots he laced for her which left tracks he forever yearns to find...

So you think you are a master of techniques of persuasion? You shallow pips-squeak, mediocrity is your mastery the obsequious hoi polloi that surround you are the pitiable averageness of conciliation Sophistry and subterfuge are your game of compromised facts syllogistic  arithmetic conceptualizing  doesn't make anything so your addition is flawed by your bungled bombast of banality and guile fortunately for you, your crowd will never study logic fortunately for you semi-literacy is  de rigueur You pompous swollen grandiose mass of hyperbolic gas Fear is what you offer, lies are what you sell your rhetorical flourish is as the stench of a waste  dump fetid, corpulent, fallow and febrile toxic half-truths, innuendos, ambiguities, conjecture and asinine aspersions comprise your specious fare, fostering rumours,  manipulating facts, you are the purported Biblical brood of vipers so extensively reviled against Your relevancy is attributable to the dull stupidity so profusely prevalent today Your "success" is the stuff of taint and treachery You'll probably choke to death on a stuck piece of poorly masticated  flesh so appropriate  and  befitting the demise of a professional liar

Caught the vampire's failing smile, cracked by teeth & venom, wind-walking among the trees, talking to the vipers & the rats & the bats & the men of the old bonetown. Mr Mann had the right idea, burn your books & get the hell outta Dodge. Do not pass go & do not stop, do NOT make out in the back of a beat-up old auto parked next to the hypermarket on Dawn & Vine. Mr Mann up front, peering through the cracks in the windscreen, the cracks in reality. He can see the vampire's slow smile, the shadows passing across the face of the TV screen, & hear the old ghost voices, the old radio voices, the 1949 voices. Blood on leather, black roots rising, saliva on after-effects & after-echoes, the apocalypse riders chasing the moon up the old dark valley, the moon chasing the apocalypse riders right back down the old dark valley to whatever hell they came from. The vampires! The vampires! Children beat hasty retreats, hide under the boxes back of the laundromat, not daring to peek as black boots crunch gravel. Mr Mann has the right surmise, get outta the books & into guns, get into heavy metal & iron drag, get into lead & something magickal, long forgotten lore & hoodoo voodoo from years & years ago. The vampire's smile turns awful yellow, fades as the stars wheel & that tired old sun begins its ascent, fades as the dawn breaks over the desert winds & cacti & the lovers wake in their motel room in the back of beyond & fumble for their stakes & knives & garlic ***** Easy now for Mr Mann in the sun-kissed big blue. Hunt it down in the tumbledowns & old desert towns. Kick off the jams, break open the locks. Hose it down with oil & strike a match. Burn the reality right off that face & that face right off reality Splat on the sand. Grue on the sand. Black on the sand. Mr Mann walking back to the autombile, back to happiness, radio playing a little something from 92, or was it 93, he really can't remember now.

Between the din of dusk and dawn Runs Sleepy Pillow Lane, Where gators guard the Gates of Thorn And cryptid creatures reign. They glide across the midnight sky Like grime in sanguine sewers; White canines long and talons drawn Spike rodents on a skewer. Gray giants glare from full-moon eyes, A ghastly ghoulish spell; Sweet sleepers swell the wells of Nile While centaurs swing the bell. Horned vipers writhe into your fears Like scythes through strangled weeds; And severed heads of angel hair From shouldered stumps relieved. A putrid pile of newly-deads Awaits the devil's scorn; And legless maggots gorge in beds From which the fly is born. Hungry hyenas howl in packs While circling carrions crow; And chunks of flesh are torn from backs Cracking bones bare below. Scavengers feast on man and beast, No rotting limb is spared; From hanging tongues to napping feet Blood splatters everywhere. Brimstone and thunder fill the air With hail presaging doom; Ten toothless witches shriek and cheer As zombies creep from tombs. Masked mummies stalk with stakes and stones In search of sleeping heads; They crave the skulls and living bones Of bodies slumped in bed. Through R.E.M. you toss and turn And roll on restless wheels; Alas Red Rooster blows his horn To end your grim ordeal.... ~ P (January, 2013)

Gaping voids attached at velvet hems reveal An oscillating, silky shrine of serpentine appeal A sacellum of spit where crimson vipers preach A sermon dispossessed of words on biting without teeth Two lithe reptilian wrestlers in acrobatic trance To recompose the primal theme from the procreating dance They sway in mirrored unison as heaven’s gates converge They lick their tongues in twisting prose and gustatory tones emerge In this bacchanal of senses where feelings taste of spoken sights The serpents molt beyond their essence onto a plane of new delights There they share a sounding vision muscles blink in harmony Hissing iridescent rhythms At last, the panting cyclopes reach the art of seeing eye to whispering eye through the instrument of speech.

*are you my lover in a dark heaven come to me my beloved kneel at my feet naked as i penetrate your veil that shrouds cryptic ravenous ardor and ask of me your hearts desire dissolution you say that i may be eternal for loves sake bowing at the knees as you tremulously brush and sweep your fragrant  hair over my thighs and run your pink tongue across my butter filled velvet sheath our kisses will be born over and over again a spinning ring of desire are there not the debts of love will you promise not to anguish to much as one harm heaps upon another you swear to give yourself fully thrill to kisses crepuscular aching to be bitten and bitten and bitten through your scent blood perfume everything about you excites me long stretches in a stained white gown wet summer fruit and spilling seed your body filled with waters mellifluent and lush yield unto me you are a titillating voluptuous awe Palisades of wild torments dancing on a floor that melts scorched feet from hallucinations invisible shadows of burning witches ************ sweet girl incandescent brooding ridge pole bending throat swollen parched crude hair pulling Medusa vipers in the grip of a god fist loving you with a hard drubbing your all squeals and caresses stay with me through the long night of tender kisses and worship and then prepare for release to paradise shall it be fast spiraling will you spread wide and plead for all and more what does it matter fluttering with wild abandon in the temple of rituals dark to see you writhe inviting ruin we are a party of hydras writing in blood and thunder in the book of wonders our hungers endless Gods and Devils thrill to our theater of mortal coils unraveled in the thick torture tuileries of Dark Heaven*
