"unicorn" poems
The black unicorn is greedy. The black unicorn is impatient. 'The black unicorn was mistaken for a shadow or symbol and taken through a cold country where mist painted mockeries of my fury. It is not on her lap where the horn rests but deep in her moonpit growing. The black unicorn is restless the black unicorn is unrelenting the black unicorn is not free.

The Black Unicorn
She’s got scars on her legs, calls them battle wounds, I’ve got the music up way to loud, so loud we can’t hear our thoughts, city lights provide the background, as we lose control and make love, doing anything to feel anything, because it’s 2018 and it feels like no one gives a fck, so we fck, and after it's said and done she says, “I don’t usually do this.”, yeah well we often do things we don’t usually do, no road home and no rules, no control no lines no tolls, keep knocking and you can come in, but no one’s home, what’s going on up there, how can you be so terrifyingly beautiful, why are you armed with such a stare, I know you’re a weapon but what do you use it for, armed to the teeth no bark all bite, I say she’s a unicorn she says she’s a vampire, and I don’t fall in love but with this one I just might, because we better express ourselves before we expire, got burned from her fire, but it hurt so good, like those cuts that we inflicted onto each other, feeling erratic I guess blame it on the mood, always ready to talk about anything except the truth, she says she only lied to me once, and that was about not liking Ethiopian food, and I pretend to care but honestly don’t know if I give a fck, what the fck, I’m drunk, and I don’t usually drink, but I often do things I don’t usually do, and I don’t mean to be rude, but I’m not sure I love you, because even if I did, I’m not sure it’d matter to you so what’s the use, you want the truth, the truth is we’re born alone and we die alone, and in the middle is where I found you, and for a moment this runaway thought he'd found a home, and I wanted us to stay forever in that moment, laying there naked in each other’s arms, but you were insecure and covered yourself back up, because you didn’t want me to see your scars, you’ve got scars on her legs, calls them battle wounds, I’ve got the music up way to loud, so loud we can’t hear our thoughts, city lights provide the background, as we lose control and make love, doing anything to feel anything, because it’s 2018 and it feels like no one gives a fck... ∆ LaLux ∆ Melbourne, Australia October 2018

You've asked me what the lobster is weaving there with his golden feet? I reply, the ocean knows this. You say, what is the ascidia waiting for in its transparent bell? What is it waiting for? I tell you it is waiting for time, like you. You ask me whom the Macrocystis alga hugs in its arms? Study, study it, at a certain hour, in a certain sea I know. You question me about the wicked tusk of the narwhal, and I reply by describing how the sea unicorn with the harpoon in it dies. You enquire about the kingfisher's feathers, which tremble in the pure springs of the southern tides? Or you've found in the cards a new question touching on the crystal architecture of the sea anemone, and you'll deal that to me now? You want to understand the electric nature of the ocean spines? The armored stalactite that breaks as it walks? The hook of the angler fish, the music stretched out in the deep places like a thread in the water? I want to tell you the ocean knows this, that life in its jewel boxes is endless as the sand, impossible to count, pure, and among the blood-colored grapes time has made the petal hard and shiny, made the jellyfish full of light and untied its knot, letting its musical threads fall from a horn of plenty made of infinite mother-of-pearl. I am nothing but the empty net which has gone on ahead of human eyes, dead in those darknesses, of fingers accustomed to the triangle, longitudes on the timid globe of an orange. I walked around as you do, investigating the endless star, and in my net, during the night, I woke up naked, the only thing caught, a fish trapped inside the wind.

Of Unicorns and Mustangs
By walking between certain trees, Sometimes, one has an odd feeling, An unusual tingling sensation, Not scary, but mostly appealing. Katalyn passed between two elms, And entered into ancient realms. Excitement prickled Katalyn’s skin, Trees here were wide and tall, Then from a sun-splashed clearing, There came a strange animal call. Creeping closely; peering round a tree, Katalyn saw unicorns, roaming free. Approaching slowly, heart beating fast, Katalyn could not help but smile, As the unicorns gathered round, What grace, such poise, cool style. Not thinking, Katalyn touched a wing, There came a whoosh . . . so dizzying. Without knowing, how or why, Katalyn soared above the trees, Holding a slender unicorn neck, Laughter escaping on the breeze. They dropped into a sudden glide, With a thrilling rush: what a ride! They winged across grassy plains, Between mountains capped with snow, Katalyn neither knew nor recognised, The wild land, passing by, below. Another world; another dimension, Kept secret by; magical intention. Then Katalyn was suddenly walking, Back where the adventure began, Passing between two old elms, Returned to the world of man. Now feeling as happy, as you please, Knowing unicorns lived, beyond the trees. © Paul M Chafer 2014

Unicorn Paradise
Telling the story of passion, death, and virtue. Tracking deception with freedom's lies. The Traveler passed through that timeless veil between here and there, the spaces between the fantastic delusional minds. That a hunter has when tracking down an accomplished plan. Caught in a Blue Galactic Storm. The Unicorn said. *"Mind your own business the rest of us don't give a **** Yet just as the wheels of the stars keep on turning-- on the heels of a planet surfing the Universes tides. There will always be cycles- and sometimes it happens that they collide-such is the power of the Muse. My story is one of tragedy and despair, with malice and Discord, Regret and Guilty Shame. Swallowed by the darkness empty and Dead. Yet out of nothing sprang Life-- fear to Hope Hate to Love, Recklessness to Responsibility, now I'm changing the tide. With arrows sharp words that fill the Night sky. Once again finding the Magic in these threads-weaving a world I've known and dread. Always mocked by the Queen of Hearts, hunting, desiring; "Metamorphosis" But Truth and Memory found the way. A ghost shell that’s crossed the Styx of the Grave, The Muse inside no longer be spelled drifting now to unsure shores, Just as Dante mapped out Hell, so will I my tale: Psyche (Human Soul) captive to the Ice of Pluto-shed no tears. This prison made flesh by mortal woe-lost, forgotten, But Morpheus came to me then. "You still have your Dreams." Then the madness came looming. The facts blurred and suddenly Phoebe appeared: with a playful far off expression. "Oh Persephone, mourn the falling leaves, for it is the last of them you will see.”

W: Waves crashed against 2020 pebbles A: against the shoreline. Colliding with one another, the pebbles slowly chipped away at each other, breaking apart. And Y: yet, seven constellations twinkled above them in the midnight sky. The constellations of the captivating cat, sophisticated sheep, benevolent bear, unfaltering unicorn, dynamic dragon, lively lion, and curious chick shone brightly through the dark expanse, as if signaling to the pebbles below, V: "Venture out beyond the horizon, for there you will find the 2021th pebble and be able to turn the tides. Even if storms darken the sky, the sun will always shine again. The celestial bodies will always be here for you, shining bright in the cosmos but even brighter when midnight strikes."

I am a controlling boyfriend. No, I am not a male, nor do I have a girlfriend to abuse. But I am the crazy stalker controlling boyfriend. I have realized something in myself: I am free with my boy and his casual flirtations, but am extremely jealous and possessive of my girls, when I have one. Or even in my present case of not having one, I want to possess her as she has possessed me. I want all your time, all your thoughts, as you inhabit mine. “How do you handle the jealousy??" It's funny, I don't get jealous when I have both partners in my bed, or in my arms. That is when I’m most content. I get jealous when outsiders are flirtatious or show interest. It's also funny, I'm more annoyed when people flirt with him thinking he’s unattached. I don't get it either; just a quirk of mine. Perhaps my nonchalance with my boy is merely grown out of our time together. In nearly seven years, not one has managed to create a rift. Those who have tried have failed, and he and I have come out the better. Patience is a virtue I do not possess, and the longer I go on incomplete... mayhap my own fears make me dig my claws into a new potential. Fear that someone else will charm such a rare unicorn away from me/us, and we’ll be left again, searching. Nor is this a new feeling, for this young woman. A year ago, I felt the same overwhelming possessiveness. Then again, it would not do to compare the two; they are two different people, who hold different qualities. The bitter jealousy I now project I have tasted before. The shock that I’ve become my own controlling high school boyfriend fills me with disgust. Unbeknownst to her, I imagine her not only in my bed, in my arms, in my life… but also on my knee. I’ve never before considered someone as both lover and submissive. Unbeknownst to me, would that make my jealousy grow or fade, were I to possess her in every way I’ve imagined? Obviously I have some things to work on. Firstly, finding our unicorn.

Unicorn
I'm a little unicorn, Short and cute. Here in my magic horn, And here is my hoof. I like to drink my chocolate milk, And chew on silk. I **** evil wizards, And chase the lizards. Because I'm magic, Isn't my story tragic? I was left behind from the ark, And almost killed by a shark, (My evil nemesis) Until I met the pegasus, And flew back to modern day life, Only to see my cousins killed with knives, Oh what a world it is! How long was I gone? Can I forgive? ... No. **** EVERYONE WILL MY MAGIC HORN OF JUSTICE!"**

I'm a Little Unicorn
I'll ride in a unicorn if I had a chance Go visit the hidden garden and take a glance I'll go drop and make a dance in the moon Through the magic carpet and massive balloon. I'll watch the star from falling Tie a hanky and keep myself wishing I'll fly with the help of the birds Make a big conversation with the clouds. I'll submerge in the sea to play with Ariel Dance under water and collect shell I'll travel to visit Alice in the Wonderland Not minding the dirt in the sand. I'll ride on the plane and go to Paris Tour myself in the city of poetry I'll go to Eiffel Tower to have my dream come true I don't care if I will go alone, atleast I have my happiness upto my bone. Paris will be an amazing trip, but it isn't enough I want to go visit the Queen In the place where my favorite boyband has been The place called London, the land I wish I was on. It's always an amazing thing to imagine And there is no other place for this, only in this piece.

Unicorns
Whirlwind, Sky is grey, Then the sun       Emerges some, And it’s a beautiful day. Windows down, Listening to That song, The one that’s Always on. Makes me think Of an idea, Ever fleeting… Long lost melody, Repeating… Emotions always bleeding.   Ending         Before              Beginning. Vertical lines, Confine Trees of shadowy green. Sidelines to the street. Waiting for A unicorn, To appear. Maybe you’re right. There is no such thing, In this life As fantastical tales Come to life, Because there is always A dark side We hide.

I spent years of my life in a fantasy world. waters inhabited with murlocs Forests with centuars and unicorns I had badass armor Spellbooks, Abilities, Charisma modifiers! When you live in Dungeons and dragons you finish quests, unlock gods, Slay Monsters When my DnD group broke up I didn't lose a group of friends. I lost a party of adventurers Their eulogies pronounced at the end of that final nat one Will never be forgotten. Portaits carved like improv comedy routines. Characatures of our ideal selves Bound, sealed, stuck on a book shelf We deserved another sequel. When the party healer crumpled her car against a Concrete wall at 70 miles an hour It made sense nobody else knew how to cast raise dead. In a world that is supposed to play out our ideal realities it was no question her charecter lived eternal. the way she would have wanted. The way we wanted so badly to be true. Nobody felt right taking over her charecter. And nobody wanted to **** her off. So we wrote her story. Every die she had tossed this whole adventure. Each murloc she ran from, each unicorn she rode, etched into a leather bound tome. Placed Right on the same shelve we kept our pathfinder books. Her headstone. We never played after that. But she did. When we placed the novel next to the flowers her mother left. We felt her cast healing song one last time And that night We got a full rest

Healing Tome
Being weird is important to me. I find it's a gift because it means that you are different than everyone else. I know I am weird because not very many 9th girls have my hairstyle. I say weird things. Instead of saying, what's up, I say "wasabi". I tell corny jokes. I'm weird because I like hugs and not very many teenagers like hugs. I'm weird because I eat olives and sunflower seeds, for snack. I'm weird because I believe in fairy tales characters like mermaids, fairies and unicorns though people tell me that they're not real. I'm weird because I'd rather read a good book than watch T.V. I'm weird because I have at least 20 nerd glasses and 5 snap backs. There are so many ways to be weird. I'm the weirdest person I know so I'll use myself as an example. I know I'm weird because not very many girls have dreads at 14 years old. I also say weird things. Instead of "what's up? "I saying "wasabi". I also tell corny jokes that I know aren't funny like, what did the penguin say when his friend asked "why did you slap me? ! " He said, ¨I didn't slap you, I high fived your face." It's not all that funny is it ….Thats why its weird to say it. I'm weird because I like to give hugs to show someone I care, but others only do that with boyfriends and girlfriends. A ****** like me might have a fairytale land of their own, where fairies, mermaids and unicorns live. I have a fairytale land of my own, full of candy canes and gumdrops, fairies, mermaids and unicorns. I have a black unicorn with a green and neon yellow horn, green tail, and a neon yellow mane. His name is Lucky. His favorite snack is Skittles and, his favorite food is graham crackers. His favorite drink is strawberry milk. We have dinner under my tree full of hearts. I'm weird because all that I just said is childish, but I don't care. A ****** like me might rather read a good book than watch television. A ****** like me might have twenty pair of nerd glasses and five snapbacks. A ****** like me might not wear dresses, skirts, or shorts. A ****** like me might write books and poems.A ****** like me might fall on purpose to make someone laugh. A ****** like me might like school. A ****** like me might stare into space without noticing. I do this five times a week for at least two minutes; weird right. A ****** like me may dance, sing, or look up at the sky randomly without knowing. I'm me and you're you. I'm not you and you're not me. So, please don't judge weirdo's for being who they are because they're gonna be them and you're gonna be you because that's how its suppose to be. So how weird are you? I bet it is not weirder than me.
