"turmeric" poems
--- I've done some research On cancer's cause Western medicine, Dr Oz. They don't have answers, I'm afraid. And the cure is in what GOD made. Cancer's vector? A simple virus. A parasite and a fungus. Candida overgrowth. Radiation. Stress. We all face this in the West. So are there answers? Well. Let's see. Tell me if you don't agree. Sodas should go down the drain They have sugar or aspertame. Sugar feeds cancer. Cut it out! I KNOW that this will make you pout But you can find nuts a tasty treat Find some that you like to eat! Say NO to coffee. All caffeine. Eat kale and other leafy greens. If you want nutrition saved Cut the cord on your microwave! They watered plants with water nuked They died. Nutrition down the tubes. So no TV dinners. Processed foods. No fruits or veggies grown GMOs. WHEAT is bad! And on it goes. So it may cost a little more? Shop your local health food store! What does it matter? What's cancer's cost? And your life will not be lost! If you tire of reading this There may be important things you miss... READ ON! NATURAL REMEDIES FOR CANCER Blackstrap molasses. 1 tablespoon Baking soda. 1 teaspoon Mix with a glass of water and drink. (Baking soda should be found at a health food store) Blackstrap molasses can also be used topically for skin cancer. Tincture of the husk of the Black walnut nut. 2 drops Tincture of clove. 2 drops Tincture of wormwood. 2 drops Mix in a glass of water and drink. Add lemon and honey. It'll taste better. IMPORTANT! DO NOT USE TAP OR BOTTLED WATER! Get distilled water and add Minerals in liquid form. Your health food store will have this. There are many herbs and spices Which help. There's iodine in common kelp. Turmeric Cucumin etc. VERY POWERFUL Soursop tea. Green tea sans caffeine Fresh vegetables of the rainbow... Colors are viamins! Vitamin supplements Especially B-17 If you can't find these in your Health food store ask them to order. Or go on Amazon and order.

Treasures of Chennai, India
A raga of another time, from another day, plays in the head: grime of the day, stuck on my hands. You shot an arrow across the eastern skies. Senora, a hundred cries you carry in your womb, yet I never found you in the peasant woman in whose arms I fell asleep, when at noon you disappear at the horizon. Maiden of the moons, at dusk I lost you to the trail of lotuses blooming westward. It is raining in gusts but this storm cannot wash it away: Guilt, like turmeric, stains the soul.

Guilt
acting on a stage, she builds with each step, step,     step,         stepping, the floorboards trail behind her feet. they form from the soil, the earth breathing beneath, wooden planks sprouting between her toes. she sings in a voice strained and trained, her diaphragm strong and core rumbling in single breaths. her skin brushed with pigment, cheeks tinted rouge and lips scrubbed till pain, gold-dusted on her bones rays reflecting and blinding from her beauty. stomach she ***** in, twenty-four seven, always prim and proper, a perfect specimen of femininity, her blood flows in a viscosity unique only to the elite. fingers down but she lacks words to throw up, she's silent, an empty vessel, her lips meant to be a two-way gate but nothing flows either way. her skin sunkissed turmeric, her irises tapioca pearls, hair flowing and falling from her face toasted nori on the white rice her dress. daily rehearsals of sixteen odd years practicing lines; memorizing them, repeating internally, the stage she builds like a church her loves oppose to the act, but she builds an antidisestablishment forcing her audience of parishioners away from her.

the actress
Finally it is done. A long time to wait for this Nectar of the Gods, but so very worth it: a shot of this each day and colds and flu stand no chance - bacteria and virus alike overwhelmed - say goodbye to illness. Let us now give thanks to our grandmothers and all the lay herbalists of generations long past, for through their efforts, our own knowledge is greatly enriched. Fire Cider

Red chillies an ounce, turmeric a pound, Spices scarlet, earthy, exotic, Peppercorns, cardamoms, whole or ground Brown bay leaves, cinnamon, aromatic. Wonders for the body that soothe and heal, Nurturing from nature, a stoic promise, From the choicest gardens, as senses reel, Fragrance of flavors in sensual bliss. Within her world, another world entices... Her voice in sweet whispers has tales to tell, Magic in dark eyes, the mistress of spices, With a flick of her hand she'll cast her spell. ( inspired by the title of the book with the same name. )

The Mistress Of Spices
A quaint little bazaar In the heart of the town Tells a story Of a thousand moments Dal Bazaar as they call it Or "Curry Market" for others who don't know. I have fragments of memorable memories Deep within my mind The smell The intoxicating smell of spices Blended with the quiescent yet cacophonous lives Of Merchants and Beggars Of Buyers and Sellers Of Bullions and a single calloused rupia In the hands of the old ***** The sunlight baking Bags of turmeric. Suspending the scent In the minds of men. Capering clouds of black and grey And the sudden squall Stirring the monotony Of the customary. The pirouette of rain The one that excites the plainest of the plain Painting the whitewash with shades of grey The chalky walls Dust Moist corriander And the relief of earth Conciliating So rewarding For the ruins of the bare sun. This flashback into my soul Where all my senses seem to be so awake. The feel of the wooden veranda Scent so inexpressible My eyes devouring the sunset Tasting the heavens Hearing it all. Feeling it all. Oh the plight of poets The ritual to end a poem. Painful.

Your body All angles and edges in place of curves Your neck Cinnamon, turmeric and salt Your skin Wheat-dark like pages of a well-worn book Your atlas back Arched like a cello’s waist Your elegant fingers Graze the ivory shell of my ear Your hollow collarbone Perched like a sycamore branch Crawling its way up My pelvis My sternum My throat Until finally hanahaki springs forth From my welcoming lips.

Hanahaki Disease
In culinary art, honey is my medium and my muse, And two orange slices compose two butterfly wings. Every piece I make is eaten With equal joy as a painting brings. My canvas is rose red with strands of white And when I paint, I use the spices: Turmeric, oregano, chili, and old bay. I use them on a salmon caught by a friend yesterday.

Did you know the East Indian Bottle Masala includes as many as 27 spices, or that an oil-free pickle served at their weddings is actually known as Wedding Pickle? These and many such authentic East Indian masalas and pickles are available at East Indian Cozinha (Portuguese for kitchen), a food store started by Christina Kinny at Kolovery Village in Kalina, Santacruz. "I started East Indian Cozinha with an attempt to preserve and highlight our cuisine and culture," says the 24-year old, who has studied Masters in Social Work and currently, works with an enterprise that helps tribal farmers. What’s in store? Going back 500 years, the East Indian cuisine enjoys influences from Portuguese, British and Maharashtrian fare. The staples include rice, coconut, tamarind, fish and meats, with spices forming an integral part of the cuisine. For instance, Prawn Atola is a dry dish comprising prawns coated only with Vindaloo Masala featuring Kashmiri chilli, cumin and turmeric. "Most people from our community were farmers and would be out on field all day. So, the masalas and lemon would help preserve their food for a longer time," reasons Kinny. At present, the store stocks six varieties of masala in 100g bottles (R150 onwards). These include Khuddi or Bottle Masala, Chinchoni (fish) Masala, Vindaloo Masala, Roast Rub, Kujit Masala and Tem Che Rose. She also offers Wedding Pickle, an oil-free variety prepared with raw papaya, carrots and dry dates. "All the recipes have been passed on from generations and are homemade," she informs. However, making the masalas is no cakewalk. "It takes three days to dry spices under the sun. Then, we hand pound them and pack them tightly in bottles with wider openings," says Kinny. She recalls that in her grandmother’s time, the masalas were tightly stuffed in beer bottles. The bottles were darker, and hence, helped preserve the masala for at least a year, at room temperature. Lugra love East Indian Cozinha also stocks traditional 10-yard saris known as lugras. These are hand embroidered by Kinny’s mother, Carol. Previously made only from cotton with authentic gold borders, now, lugras are embroidered with sequins and threads. "She has been in the garment industry for the last 30 years. When you ran out of buttons to sew you Opened up the windows so the dust can Bake you a cake on the shelves So you could eat it all on your own, with one clean sweep. It is your birthday. Everyday the clock is like a see saw you sit on all alone while he is on a swing set with his feet pushing the ground he knows how to move on his own how to touch the sky - you were never taught how to be your own friend. But it is never too late to make friends. Have you ever tried the slide? there are no limits To how many times you can climb So slide, glide let go of gravity, undress from reality We keep shedding like the moon, glowing like torches inside us that help us stand out from the crowd. take your turmeric magic and build a fire with the friction of your spine and your mind sprinkle it on the crackling heat... we all need fire to keep us warm.

artful creations colors, charcoals paints stone and clay wood and paper bringing life from lifeless form from formless can the artist choose? ~~~ garden creations shades of green jade artichoke asparagus fern, forest and jungle mint, moss and pine shamrock tea, olive mixed with a multitude of blooming hues can the gardener decide on one? ~~~ kitchen creations sweets and treats savories and piquants cakes and pies meats, stews casseroles butter, garlic lemon rosemary and thyme parsley and saffron onions caramelized to sweet peppercorns and cardamon tamarind, turmeric nutmeg combined in precision joy and love can the chef say which is best? ~~~ and thus I challenge any poet can you choose your favorite "child"?

Yorick
It might be the brilliant yellow of turmeric boiled into salted potatoes, washed down with the brown of peppermint tea. Or the intoxicating fragrance, when we are hungry enough, of simple spices. Cinnamon and cloves, in another dish of oatmeal. Outside the house, across the street, the neighbors' children scream happily into the warm night, where the first fireflies begin to appear.

A Poet's Food
You left nothing, only the Stevens book That read: There is not nothing, no, no never… Nothing and a yellow bicycle: Two tires on a rickety frame. When I do pick up a poem, It’s to hear the gravel cadence of you, Softer, informed by everything that spins: A world, a bicycle, a chestnut tumbling Downhill the city’s painted a roadside path, My collarbone’s begun to mend. The house gets drafty late afternoons So I learn to cook: Turmeric, cayenne. Hing & coriander. cardamom. Cumin & mustard seeds. Hing’s a pungent flower called asafetida And corriander’s just cilantro. Icy fingers spindle wheels on window panes. I leave the teakettle to boil. Spokes of trees shiver in the silverish dusk Taking lessons from everything bare, I let in the cold to hear No stones turned in the drive.

Winter Lessons
I get home. tired and hungry and so sick of school shoulders slouch with comfort, crossing the threshold between the public and my home. It's snack time. open the fridge and what do I find? what marvelous things, upon which to dine? a leg of chicken and a big *** of beans, say what you will, moms can be queens I chop up an onion splash! in the pan a dollop of oil [extra ****** man] add half a pepper, minus its seeds yum! I think I know what this needs A large pinch of cumin, a whole chicken leg and so many beans, if beer twould be keg then add some turmeric for fusion and flair splash of red wine, kids: we're almost there! I check in the freezer and Yes! I was right! almost a dozen tortillas in sight. I take out two, cuz they're pretty big I yodel with pleasure, as if at a shindig warm up the flatbreadz, and pile it on all of that chicken and beans and herbs from the lawn get in my tummy, get in there so fast that I dont realize I'm eating until I'm holding the last.

Thursday Afternoon Snack
You’re less subtle than susceptible to the sun rising to hands softer than mine. The smoke colors your fingertips tarnished turmeric gold with life passing through them in waves and ripples like Warsaw’s children playing on the wharf. That foam splashes up behind a sun the rose hips on your hips, an alabaster canvas. Nothing falls gracefully. Brake, break, grab, slide, ball like an infant safe in your ******* womb. Cars around growl poised in packs on round haunches. I hear finesse in relation to broken teeth, rats in relation to style. Like writing, your name on an outstretched rubber band watch yourself shrink and fly away every time I see you let go. Your teeth like drywall looks when you’re eyes’ve gone red. I want you like a child’s first attempt at perfume too much alcohol and pulling blush from a warm rose.

on the grass-land in-between cast their shadows once the folk-song once the rare cotton so much sky-kissing blue are the horses of sunday with glittering sunshine on its white sail the bird that has flown from the corn-field with a rosy balloon on its back now in the evening of the girl having her husband alive the smell of salted turmeric engrosses the cloth-end not from so far-end not in so much noise coming nearer in a more whispering voice the mushroom of the lips sees its face in the green of rain-drops

Help yourselves dear poets if you have fever use filtered martinelly apple juice or any brand you got dilude it with water a glass every hour it has boron it heals cutting fevers fast I used in my children tylenol can harm liver. ~~~~~~ for the stronger health users go organic carrot and (beat juice- -optional) if you only want water distiled is best one gallon add 20 drops of oregano leaf oil and only drink this is antiviral. fir one day or two ~~~~~~ If you tolerate take on raw garlic two or more Clove's blend them in filtered, or boiled or distilled water or even Gatorade electrolyte or smart water add cayenne pepper or any hot peppers you have like cayenne it's good for heart ( no halapeños they irritate intestinal lining ) add sea salt to taste cilantro if you have add two yellow lemon juices freshly squeezed one hole mandarine or small organic orange add ginger root fresh a finger size slice add turmeric fresh root you have apple cider vinegar with the mother in add some one tablespoon optional add multivitamin mineral and vitamin C ascorvic acid 8f no lemon available. if you feel anxiety check thyroid it controls brain chemicals add a thyroid supplement vitamin to shake open capsule and blend all these and drink five onces every 3 hours. it's anti virulent immune system booster 200 mg of vitamin B complex nightly in powder form will stop your restless leg syndroms help nerves and good sleep add but D3 If you dear find milk thistle it heals detox liver tastes great open one or two capsules in glass of water I drink this daily. ~~~~~ Stay blessed all poets visitors friends you are much loved. by Karijinbba
