"trinity" poems
Upon the dark night, striking three; A tick representing each step in time, but time overwhelmed by a trinity of peace, and a plan greater than one's wildest dreams. As the trees clap their praises unto a summer wind, and waves flood the skies with their roaring rumbles of exaltation, a bird sings unto the dark night her song, unique, sweet, and free-spirited Another beauty upon the night, a tulip, blossoming, not fully grown, in admiration of this free spirit, the bird. The tulip observes from a distance the song the bird sings A praise, a never ending thankfulness "Thank You for the trees, Thank You for the waves, And thank You for me," the bird sings. In awe of the song bird, the tulip longs to grow, to blossom, to fly, to sing; Oh, the joy, the praise, the song she'll bring when fully grown to exemplify her thanks to the three But, Hold! The clock ticking three, a breath He takes. The songs of beauty the bird once sang are silenced more than a whisper Oh, dear, wilting Tulip; she wonders, "Why?" she misunderstands, "Why has the bird's song been hushed?" Oh, so joyful with praise, the songs she sang, but now unto another Audience, unheard by the flower; However, the sun rises, the flower realizes, A new day is upon her. The trees clap their praises unto a summer wind, and Waves flood the skies with their roaring rumbles of exaltation, Just like any other day. Partaking in full bloom overnight, grown, she hears the call of three: You're unique, sweet, and your free-spirit will sing, for the steps of time past quicker than the steady rhythm of that clock ticking Fly free, song bird, Your legacy will only grow sweeter with time As the bloom of a tulip smiles and praises the One unto which your song once thrived.

Man of science, Only sees what is there, Wants to build the fence. Man of religion, Out of nothing sees everything, Wants to envision the fence. Man of philosophy, Out of everything sees nothing, Wants to sit on the fence.

Holey Trinity
I am Christian. I believe in the Trinity of the Holy God, The Son, and The Spirit, I believe that Jesus is the Son of God and the savior of mankind I own more than three Bibles I teach Sunday School every week and I pray every night. I am Christian, And as such I Hate queer.... Phobia. I can not stand intolerance And I cry at hatred, Blood running in the streets, Fear running in veins, Running away from the truth. I am Christian, yet There are bloodstains in my Bible And the prayers on my lips Are for forgiveness for who I am. The entire story of ***** is Crossed out, blacked out angrily In the dead of night In all 4 versions, Leviticus is blurred, Wrinkled with my tears, Soaked with my pain. I am Christian And I am not homophobic. I know my church won't recognize Non cis-het marriages, Leaving entire worlds of rainbows in the dark The higher-ups insist Weddings are white, shiny, husband-and-wife, happily-ever-after affairs That shove me and my friends, my family, my lovers, Into closets of heavenly wrath and Fire and brimstone sermons, Locked into personal hells of shame And confusion. I am Christian And I am not straight. My God doesn't hate me for who I love, He loves me because I try not to hate. So to the homophobic Christians, I ask: Who is your God? Who is your God that supposedly condemns people He has created in his own image? Your rainbow picket signs are nothing but a cruel mockery of a covenant Not truly shared by you. Your tongues are no better than the viper's who called Adam and Eve to sin, You are the vipers of my world. Do you think you avoid judgement When trans teens are killed By the bullets you spit with your words? Who is your God, That tells you to picket the funerals Of those you hate? Who is your God, That refuses to let you open your heart to differentness? I am Christian, And I don't need your permission to Love my God. Take my scars and tear-stained Bibles, Listen to my fervent prayers, Watch my lips tremble when I listen to my pastor. I don't need your permission To love who I want, In fact I don't want it. Take my midnight screaming and fear of coming out, Listen to my frantic pleading for a hand to hold, Watch my eyes linger on her chest. I am Christian. My God doesn't hate me for who I love, He hates you who refuse to love While you carry His name, if Not his blessing. So I ask again Who is your God? Because mine loves all of me, All 5'6" of queer pride. Who is your God?

I wish you detox from drunken heights, I’m jesus for today until my current shift ends and the next one begins, after many nights, in the garden centre of fallen south coast eden. Shine shine shine Light of mine For now everything’s just fine People’s faces glitter as I go by, memories of sinless youth, for my hands blind with nostalgia, that my being resurrects. The child Lazarus scurries past my side, to his home with his future in his hands, in my hands, cupped wide. Shine shine shine Light of mine For now everything’s just fine I can love the unfortunate, for my fortune is golden. Delivered in letters from North, West, East. My trinity circle who join me at my supper, breaking the garlic bread and sipping the borello, to top crab ravioli baptised in the stream of sauce. Shine shine shine Light of mine For now everything’s just fine The gates of heaven are open, unblocked by the deaths of Keats, Shelley and Williams, their souls not blocking the exit with an Underground Queue. I give my blessings to Livingstone and Charles Gordon The one native he changed and the others’ sacrifice at Khartoum Gained me my crown to modestly flaunt. Shine shine shine Light of mine For now everything’s just fine I float down the hall, to His Mighty Voice, as my gold becomes a donation on the alter, to gain the choral hymns of Mercury gilded rock gods that will brighten my days for now, oh glorious moments. Amen.

I used to think in numbers. 1: There’s one of me. Alone. Plus 4: my family. Still 1, but 5, or 4 plus 1; that’s me, alone. I used to think in numbers. 36: That’s weeks of school; That’s weeks of math class, math class, calculator; Father, Son, and Calculator. Trinity: the holy three, the three, the 3 times 36: that’s 108. I used to think in numbers. Math class, algebra, room 108. I hate, I hate, I love, I hate, I hate the way they look at me. They look at me like man at dog, like planet hogs, throw books at me like cannons cogged at ninety-minute intervals at cinder walls until I fault and cringe and fall, and fall like London Bridge and crash, and fall like Blown-out glass gone back to class. I pass the tests and cash regrets like rent checks bounced across the bridge that they knocked down. Because I used to think in numbers, yeah, but now?         Well, sure. Abrasions hurt. And yeah, we all want friends. But at least equations work and keep their balance on both ends. So I will rock this scatter-plot of social contract to its peak until my hands are red meat. I am no dead beat; I hold the world record for blood lost to a summer camp spread sheet. But then, but then somewhere along that number line, a 6 stared down its stage fright when just 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 days before the show, I met a girl who barred my better judgment like a cage fight, and thank God she did, because for once, I put away the calculator, and I listened to her voice, and it sounded like… well, it sounded like it sounded. And for once, I sat and wrote about the things that can’t be counted. I surrendered to the cage fight, and I fell into a deep hole. And to be honest, I don’t miss spreadsheet summers, ‘cause it’s easier to keep cool. I used to think in numbers, yeah, but now I think in people.

Stomped earth with broad feet Fastening fresh saplings into Whole forests Eight feet by eight feet, the grid Through winter month's To early spring Line of tree planters, twenty Sometimes less, sometimes more On Shasta, on Lassen, on Trinity Alps Douglas Firs and Ponderosa Pines In Mendocino, in Eureka Planting baby giants, Redwoods Sequoias in Sequoia National and Klamath Young men with hoe-dads Knew some old ones too Women as well, though few If you could bear the snow, the rain If you could bear back-breaking pain The glory is yours As was once mine Reforestation Go plant your line To be eternally in Mother Nature's good graces And kinship known by campfire

Cold Feet, Warm Hearth
a man is born with a ***** testicles, and various other masculine equipment and tendencies. a Man lives by a masculine code that revolves around the physical, the mental, and the spiritual. a Man is committed to himself above all else. this may sound selfish, but it isn't. a Man not only puts himself on high, but connects himself mind, body, and soul to the physical, mental, and the spiritual. everything that he connects to himself becomes himself. a Man does not distinguish between the his own flesh and the flesh of his children. a Man does not distinguish between his mind and the mind's of those in his inner circle. a Man does not distinguish between his will and the will of his god. a Man is power. he is the generator. those that he has allowed to plug into his world are empowered by him. they come into his presence and feel better for it. a Man changes lives. a Man understands the trinity of justice, mercy, and charity. a Man is not afraid to give to those as they deserve. he looks with fair eyes and does not slow his hand or slow its speed. a Man is not cold enough to be alien to compassion. he can see to the heart of matters and look past the easy answers. when others will marvel at his wisdom and praise his mercy. he will only think 'as it should be'. a Man is not without the ability to go beyond. he can look to the future. help those that need it, sometimes before they need it. anticipation and preparedness are the weapons of the Man. stoic strength is his shield. a Man is not without weakness. he understands his weaknesses, but is not victim to them. he may succumb to them, but as a master of justice, he steels himself for the price he must pay. weakness must be addressed and turned to strength. as a Man fears, he must stand up and face it. as a Man despairs, he must turn it aside. when a Man fails, all that have plugged into his power will fail. when a Man falls, families, nations, societies fall. when a Man falls, it is the duty of another Man to come to his aid. when Men stop aiding Men, they merely become men with penises and various other masculine equipment and tendencies. The Man is a Man that all other Men fear and long to be. He is the one that Men plug into. Some Men see that as a sign of weakness and rebel, but The Man signs paychecks and feeds families. who will topple The Man?

What happened on Weehawken Heights, that warm midsummer’s day? There are several versions of the “truth” but none for sure can say. The Principals were both well known: Hamilton and Burr. Aaron Burr had made the challenge, Hamilton would not demur. Hamilton choose pistols as the weapons Then Burr proposed the site. Per the Irish Code Duello It was all proper and right. Dueling was illegal, so the Seconds looked away so they could plausibly deny that they had seen the fray. Each man walked off ten paces, and Mister Pendleton yelled “Pre-sent”! Most think that Hamilton fired first; wide and right, his shot was spent. Aaron Burr was deadly accurate: His shot, its target found: Alexander Hamilton, wounded, swooned upon the ground. “this wound is mortal, Doctor.” was all Hamilton could say. They bore him to the City where he passed on the following day. Aaron Burr also fled the scene, evading prosecution. He had “Full Satisfaction”, this hero of the Revolution. What is full satisfaction when Burr’s Star was past its season? He never more held public trust, indeed, stood trial for treason. A person can be haunted by a ghost that none can see. Burr’s brilliance had been blighted by a sort of infamy. Towards the end of his own life Burr said of his enemy: “{Had I known}The world was wide enough for Hamilton and me.” On July 11, 1804, Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr fought the most famous duel in American history. These two heroes of the Revolution were political enemies and Hamilton had done much to exclude Burr from the Presidency and from the  New York  governorship.  Burr, feeling he had been defamed by Hamilton's published remarks demanded the "Full Satisfaction" of a duel.  My account generally follows the account of the historian, Joesph Ellis. Any errors are my fault. Any items in quotes are words ascribed to these two famous individuals.  Aaron Burr never after held public office and eventually stood trial for treason for his alleged attempt to set up an independent country in the territory Jefferson purchased from France. After several years living in France, Burr returned to New york where he faded into obscurity. Alexander Hamilton is buried in the churchyard of Trinity Church in downtown New york. Towards the end of his life, Burr remarked: "Had I read Sterne more and Voltaire less, I should have known the world was wide enough for Hamilton and me."[35]

Atomic energy is a good thing contemplated the good scientist But only for us good people to forget Lincoln's, Hemingway's and Madame Curie's silent voices echoes from the sidewalk Where people idly passes by; lost in tall low fat Frappuccino’s Looking and hoping then ultimately wishing for a visit from Benjamin Franklin Unwittingly employed by all the dead presidents These days’ people know the price of everything But the value of nothing Makes me gallivant; my own memory warehouse As I pose this question towards my own psyche; What is the worst thing I have ever done? In the name of personal achievement career elevation and prosperity All everyone ever wants to be is successful rich and richer Oppenheimer colleague put our modern society in to perfect perspective Post detonation of the Trinity project - after the first nuclear test When he gracefully quoted "Now we are all son of *******

Your lunar crescent dips beside my tide, your moon glow lips, rippling, slips me into a deep, watery sleep. I am but a dancer beside you; your third eye glares into me: spectacular stars in twilight; swirls entrance like Starry Night in Van Gogh's day dreams. Come dream with me! Come cleaner than the day you were conceived. Show me the face that you had before you were born. Closer, we combine the forces of nature: sublime. We, in One Self unfold as the universe unfolds. Sweet trinity, holy inspiration, that those stars would gaze upon me, and I those stars.

Adoration
When education was restricted They ran to religion When solace was stripped away They ran to martyrdom Loved ones fell Hated ones rose As hearts sank To the depths of the maelstrom Fueled by the unholy trinity Value, vindication, and violence Bombs decimate Afghan villages With the precision Of a needle hitting a vein And as casually As a contractor putting a dollar in his pocket The rubble of their town Lost in a mist of dust The rubble of their minds Lost in a mist of vengeance The rabid dog chases the subjugated raccoon The raccoon discovers a sacred hole and hides in it The predator attempts to encroach the void The raccoon quivers in it's sanctuary shelter Finding relief as the hound becomes stuck And laughs as the infected beast starves to death But ecstasy turns to terror As the raccoon realizes it's only way out of this hole Is being blocked by the gargantuan corpse Terror turns to sorrow As the raccoon starves to death Alone In the dark It's holy land now hell For once it had protected the raccoon from unbridled rabies But since the hound's death It's Cerberus size obstructs all progression Holes become graves And prey are left to pray For someone to drop a bomb and clear a path

my sally my Sally a wonderful double entendre for it’s time, my internal clock chiming to sally forth and give the due to where dew in her garden resides, poetry becoming sweet tears in all our eyes when the philipina rain thirst quests our quenching there is no reason no request for this sally poem but a tickling thought suggests that a good friday. could be the trigger, or that pandora bringing me Ave Maria as I compose when the due and the dew and the do are a trinity the best poems are the un-requested  but the most needed, the most holy

Within the Eternal Sea of Light Stands the Tree of Life Of seven branches, seven roots Each a mated pair Crowned in white Light My Spirit rests Along the shore. Where the flowers sing their songs Listening to a Symphony I have not heard before. Tazim, Tsum All flowers sing their songs. Oscillating Undertones and overtones A rainbow of petals in "Om" Sounding Multitudes of Love. Elohim, Jah-Jah! Yahweh Hashem! Creator Father Mother The First Trinity Now, in Unity Stands. I give you my raging canyons Wind torn spirit, haggard body Broken heart & soul. Stepping into courage Hand in hand. Lengthening inhalation Slowing it's release   Breath of Life! Moving into the expansive Show me the Light. Sweet mercy! I am weightless In the green fields and rolling valleys Tumbling among the rocks into still waters Ashes of past pain Afloat in silence. All is white within Light's embrace Traveling 90 degrees to the right Flow into the Sacred Heart. Within the Holy of Holies Is a rainbow Where thousands upon thousands of colors Each root within the seven Stands the Tree of Life Of Seven branches, seven roots Each a mated pair Along the shore Where the flowers sing their songs Listening to a symphony I have not heard before. Within the Eternal Sea of Light Crowned in white Light My Spirit rests In Harmony's rhythm In Unity Divine. I am In Unity Divine. Enfolded in Harmony's rhythm My Spirit rests Crowned in white Light. Forever and ever Without a choice, Roofs were raised In booming voice: God the Father. Proclaimed the choir. In our two millenia, The communal host blessed pro-choice, With Omni-this and Omni-that: *Christ the Son. Christ has won.* The carollers rejoice. The Spirit transubstantiates With tongues of creativity; Is One with femininity. What greater God! What a Trinity!
