Like the heavens and the skies Like the deep seas so wide When I am confident and true When I have faith in you Colour me blue, colour me blue Like the royals of Great Britain Like the noble in truth and ambition In my wisdom, dignity and pride In my mystery and grandeur so wise Colour me purple, colour me purple Like fire and blood Like the intensity of a flood In my strength and passion In my desire, love and emotion Colour me red, colour me red Like the warmth of the tropics Like the sun, my daily tonic When I am determined and creative When I am happy and attractive Colour me orange, colour me orange Like a smile so warm Like joy even in a storm When I am cheerful and happy In my intellect, when I am savvy Colour me yellow, colour me yellow When I am all these and more When I am despised or adored With the colours of the rainbow With the colours that make me glow Colour me colours, colour me colours

Dear Bartender
Soupy slurred words slide from her lips and drip to the floor, Mixing in with the pool of regurgitated gin and tonic. Her mouth is bitter but her thoughts are true; Only the drunk can tell the truth. Her incoherent words fall to the floor followed closely by her slouched figure and salty tears. She sleeps on the bathroom floor, Soaked in the mess she's created.

Hell's demons are everywhere If I could only convince you to see Drinking gin and tonic with style Sipping haughtily on lemon and tea Their distorted evil frightening faces Are masked from human sight As they pass you with indifference Grinning and nodding Moving left to right However Without warning As their vicious appetites call Growing hungry for souls In the silence of the night They gobble up foolish sinners they encounter That disappear forever from sight So the next time you have the desire to dine in the evening Take a  moment or a second or two Remember faces are not all they seem A demon may be sipping a martini, While smiling and sitting right next to you This poem is copyrighted and stored in author base. Demons
(from “A Love Song” by William Carlos Williams) <•> familiar that apple google and amazon have me under 24 hour surveillance e-specially now as I am in their geosphere of influence but sending me a love poem of WCWs that isolates my locale, my intended inebriation status, and is addressed to me personally (“you”), that’s just creepy so charged am I, obligated to oblige, to counter-compose a love song of mine own, under the pinot “influence,” (in a manner of speaking) which a love taught me to love what if, a new love song ecrit, to an old and loverly land, a woman-land designed to be desired, no difference - kissing a new girl first time, a wet and unforgettable compote when falling on the neck of your one beloved anew renewed now I tremble-tread for the line of great predecessors, “the land lover scribes” skilled in natures homaging, is like a line out the door, around the corner as if a new flavor ice cream has just been isolated and mined and I... <•> *I, but a novitiate in a far away, wild untamed world where my nature taken by her nature cannot deny paying my just due: selvage late middle English, from self + edge how perfect! “an edge, woven on a fabric during manufacture, intended to prevent unraveling” the pacific coast air the irregular shoreline - expanding/receding, god’s own forestry reserve, the cascades, a goal on the horizon, country roads where ancient wheat stalks grow wild all a tonic intermingled, an alcohol to imbibe through mouth nostrils eyes and skin all will be my own selvage! preventing the eastern unraveling disease, a nearly incurable permafrost low grade kate spaded infection, brought along with me for decades, my loon June companion, now stalling out, lost from my happy head a vineyard on every corner, marijuana growing next door, rivers that change like children growing up and down, cheek to jowled property line live the berries and the hazelnut groves, god’s hay bales wrapped in plastic like marshmallows dotting the landscape* all daring you to say I could love it  here

Running at Summer Dusk
How quiet the night is I say as I loudly tap On my phone Erasing and rewriting Statuses Only to realize You can't be profound on facebook Society has made sure of that. This handy dandy Mini pocket computer Connects me to the world, It assures that never will I Never can I Be alone. Yet as I scroll Through the friends list, The contacts, The snapchat stories, Endless feeds, Its clear I am only one person Out of billions. Barely noticeable. Its hard to be unique When all the clever usernames Have been taken And you don't know How to use emojis.   I do not compute, Nor do I really want to.

There is.... a knarnley creature resting, waiting, seeking the pounce. A lifetime of gold awaits thy asleeps but under her blanket restful slumber Hark! Long ago, on my unpatriotic ways, with anger patriots turned ablaze. They ill-treated me with words of abuse, even classes on patriotism was of no use. One day patriotic tonic I drank. It made all the difference, to be frank. Now professor of patriotism I've become. To hear my lectures many patriots come. And before my patriotism inspires enemies of North and West and before my nationalism they easily bear and digest and before Chinese people of the North have understood my patriotic lecture's worth and before their Olympians represent Nation of mine and before we get medals in abundance this time and before Pakistanis decide to turn traitors at once, inspired by my patriotic views and my eloquence and before Indians use golden words for me to describe and before my name in history they inscribe and before people start giving me much respect and before my big and large statues they ***** and before my replicas and dolls are put on sale and before I start competing with likes of Gandhi and Patel and before this poetry becomes too patriotic to comprehend with slogan 'Jai Hind ' this patriotic poetry must come to an end.

Revealed - My Patriotism
Hidden under the honeysuckle and hibiscus Lies a stone. And as I sit, drinking a gin and tonic Looking over the spent plates where crusty bread fried calamari, which is a fancy word for squid, and two Oysters Rockefeller sat until recently consumed by two parents both in that awkward state of freedom and longing when their child is at camp, out past the ducks on granite rocks puffing themselves up flapping their wings towards afternoon sun on Winnipesaukee my thoughts and eyes are drawn back to the wheel of stone leaning against the rotting wall of railroad ties covered in a remoulade of Honeysuckle Rose of Sharon and other viney things that are unidentifiable to me. It has been painted during its time but the paint is faded and chipped and the feeling is that the stone has outlived the painter. Yet I do wonder. What was its job 50, 100, 200 years ago? Was it in a mill? Did it lie flat, grinding? Did it roll, upright, crushing things? What else did they use round stones for? Is this what retirement for a working stone is? Cast to the side, forgotten hidden under the honeysuckle and hibiscus in an alley next to a waterside Wolfboro restaurant where parents sit Looking at Winnipesaukee over spent plates of bread, squid and Oysters Rockefeller thinking of a child at camp.

Stone
He was pale as death, running down like an over-wound clock Beneath his eyes, dark signs of sleeplessness tumbled short of his dreams. The pale gold odor of his lips, Parted with a series of beginnings. He was confounded with wonder at her presence That voice held him most Swathed in rose and lavender silk The darker, well-kept expanse of his suppressed eagerness blazed with light. His eyes, a deep tropical burn, on fire like the World’s Fair remotely possessed by intense life like a trembling match stained with creative passion He searched for her night and day The exhilarating ripple of her voice was a wild tonic rain a deathless song a faint flow of thunder he followed the sound of it into the thick folds of the sky. her well-loved eyes, smeared with tears, glistening drops smashed into pieces on the floor Standing in a puddle of mid-summer flowers Bright ecstatic smile on the edge of pouring rain Its fluctuating, feverish warmth, full of aching grieving beauty, told of unexpected joy Are you in love with me?

Paul Newman's half Jewish; Goldie Hawn's half too, Put them together--what a fine lookin’ Jew! [Esus] You dont need Deck the Halls or Jingle Bell Rock Cause you can spin a dreidel with Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock--both Jewish! [Esus] Put on your yamaka, its time for Hanukkah, The owner of the Seattle Super Sonic-ah celebrates Hanukkah. O.J. Simpson-- not a Jew! But guess who is...Hall of Famer—Rod Carew--(he converted!) Now I'd like to tell you of a liquid And a beverage clearly divine It matches the holiest spirit And most blessed communion wine But it's not to be found at the altar Of the temple, the mosque or the church You'll see it in glasses lined up on the bar Wherever the pensioners perch Oh Gin, Gin, fabulous Gin Finest concoction there ever has bin A knee to the crotch and a kick in the shin To him that speaks ill of that heavenly Gin I had a great aunty called Floris Each morning she'd sternly arise With a fire in the pit of her stomach And a merciless scowl in her eyes But thanks to a magical fluid By the end she was quite the reverse And her face was serene and so tranquil As they bundled her into the hearse Oh Gin, Gin, glorious Gin Remover of troubles and varnish and skin There's many a baby that wouldn't have bin If not for a bottle of beautiful Gin Edith was crippled with cramp of the back And terrible gout of the thighs Her walk was askew and her bottom had swelled To a rather astonishing size But with Gin in the morning, the noon and night She was right as proverbial rain She still couldn't walk but now couldn't talk So no one could hear her complain Oh Gin, Gin, medicinal Gin Bracing your face with a permanent grin Cleans up the silver but tarnishes tin Joyous the juice of the juniper, Gin Tis a regular modern elixir And a kick in the liver to boot It's companion for many a mixer To the tonic or blending of fruit Instilling a mighty contentment And removing all traces of rage Though it's mainly imbibed by ladies Those of a particular age... It is so measured that rising arpeggio, only to fall and rise again in quicker values, through the dominant seventh to the heartache moment of that minor ninth, a very apogee of dissonance. Then it goes higher still to the fifth, holding to that Phrygian harmony before returning to the tonic minor and a measured fall in the bass. This is a deliberate descent to the sub-mediant, and Bach’s touch of magic, the equivalence with the dominant minor ninth. But then he gives us hope: an extended and joyful play through sequences that rise and fall within each bar, to rest finally on the mediant’s echo of that opening, that measured rise and the quickening fall. We have hardly smiled with relief when Bach pulls us back into the insecurity of the dominant of the subdominant, that V of IV acting like a bridge to a long, long discourse in the dominant, a pedal E holding firmly to itself whilst rising arpeggios and falling decorations and sequences pull and pull through innocently related keys. Longer and longer play the rising passages until short motives of imitation interrupt, treble to bass, tenor to alto, until:  a first inversion arpeggio of the dominant seventh measures out the opening rhythm. This happens twice in short succession, as though holding the progress of the music to account. A questioning perhaps before a four-fold sequence asserts the dominant and a chorded caesura. There is a pregnant, though faintly resonant silence as Bach spins the dice of tonality and chooses the subdominant to bring the music towards a waiting Allemande. The music moves through a play of subdominant to dominant, minor to major, the mix of flattened fifth and flattened ninth. It is those intervals that determine Bach as the father of ambiguity in the 20C school of jazz harmony, Arpeggio then a falling scale, and repeat and repeat again, but moving ever higher by sequence. At last five chords – merely a shorthand for closure via the expectation of a right display of the performer’s improvisatory prowess. They prepare us reverently for the tonic minor before the stately Allemande leads the music into the elegant steps of its walking dance.

There is a pregnant, though faintly resonant silence as Bach spins the dice of tonality and chooses the subdominant to bring the music towards a waiting Allemande. The music moves through a play of subdominant to dominant, minor to major, the mix of flattened fifth and flattened ninth. It is those intervals that determine Bach as the father of ambiguity in the 20C school of jazz harmony, Arpeggio then a falling scale, and repeat and repeat again, but moving ever higher by sequence. At last five chords – merely a shorthand for closure via the expectation of a right display of the performer’s improvisatory prowess. They prepare us reverently for the tonic minor before the stately Allemande leads the music into the elegant steps of its walking dance.
