In a class, I'll sit and listen they'll explain that I have no rights as a member of the LGBTQ+ they'll say, with pride of their skin, black lives DON'T matter- all lives do. I'll sit here, OH YES, I'll sit and listen they'll talk about girls being ugly talking about how there are only two genders and I'll sit here relating women to paintings, weaving them into my poems, slightly pouting and confused with my lack of their said gender. Sighing, I will sit here and listen as they repeat the things I've heard my entire life and I'll bite my tongue, though not really a look will pass by, rage seeps through pores I'll leak liquid anger until the toxins correct their rotten brains I know I should say something, but there are tons of them and only micro-me. Weak. I'll sit here, and I will listen to them as we all eagerly await the bell Save us. we're far apart, so my mask is off now, but when it sounds, when it promises peace RING RING RING I will stand, turn, and Black Lives Matter will be almost as prominent as a tattoo on my face, the phrase will melt, it will stick, it will attach to my mouth and say scream sing the words that I cannot. and I'll keep Sydney's hoodie on as my bulletproof vest, her chain against my heart understanding that THIS IS NOT A CHOICE Why would I ever choose the pain I went through for this? only to go home, and hear more from my step-father, with the victimizing mother actings as if it never happens

The Usual.
Authors and actors and artists and such Never know nothing, and never know much. Sculptors and singers and those of their kidney Tell their affairs from Seattle to Sydney. Playwrights and poets and such horses' necks Start off from anywhere, end up at *** Diarists, critics, and similar roe Never say nothing, and never say no. People Who Do Things exceed my endurance; God, for a man that solicits insurance!

I've been kissed in the bathroom, lifting her up against the wall laughing when our teeth brushed against one another's hands fumbling up a skirt around a throat fingers tangled in wavy hair. I've been touched sitting in her lap outside on a hot day wearing her hoodie around children freshmen year. I've been touched multiple times by him in band rooms, away from prying eyes secrets to be kept and wooed over laying in a dress during a concert event head in the lap of my best friend underwear brushed to the side fingers thrusting in and yes, this was consentually. I've been touched in the school hallways every day after school or in between classes tasted and tasted he tasted me I tasted myself. Our town was to have a rail-line Circa the mid eighteen nineties This story has surprised my ears A local amateur historian apprised me just recently Documents to support this claim are archived in Sydney Not far out of our town On a well know property in the district Two surveyor pegs are still in existence Marking the route the rail-line was to track Though the Forefather's rail-line was never bedded down The powers that be government leaders of the day Shelved these impressive plans They never saw the light of day Ribbons of steel not coming to fruition Leading to our town Other town went ahead rail-lines were established to them Out town alas and alack missed out Look where Tamworth and Armidale are to-day Rail being in their favor Our town was left to languish and to be dispirited Going no-where no-where to go Our Forefather's now lay in their graves Not quite resting in peace Their rail proposal for our town unrealized Good ideas die along with good intentions Hence their unsettled repose Our town could have been a regional town Industry and population dotting the landscape Rail would have assured our place The Forefather's rail proposal long since shelved Consigned into the passing vapor of time

Australia takes her pen in hand To write a line to you, To let you fellows understand How proud we are of you. From shearing shed and cattle run, From Broome to Hobson's Bay, Each native-born Australian son Stands straighter up today. The man who used to **** his drum", On far-out Queensland runs Is fighting side by side with some Tasmanian farmer's sons. The fisher-boys dropped sail and oar To grimly stand the test, Along that storm-swept Turkish shore, With miners from the west. The old state jealousies of yore Are dead as Pharaoh's sow, We're not State children any more — We're all Australians now! Our six-starred flag that used to fly Half-shyly to the breeze, Unknown where older nations ply Their trade on foreign seas, Flies out to meet the morning blue With Vict'ry at the prow; For that's the flag the Sydney flew, The wide seas know it now! The mettle that a race can show Is proved with shot and steel, And now we know what nations know And feel what nations feel. The honoured graves beneath the crest Of Gaba Tepe hill May hold our bravest and our best, But we have brave men still. With all our petty quarrels done, Dissensions overthrown, We have, through what you boys have done, A history of our own. Our old world diff'rences are dead, Like weeds beneath the plough, For English, Scotch, and Irish-bred, They're all Australians now! So now we'll toast the Third Brigade That led Australia's van, For never shall their glory fade In minds Australian. Fight on, fight on, unflinchingly, Till right and justice reign. Fight on, fight on, till Victory Shall send you home again. And with Australia's flag shall fly A spray of wattle-bough To symbolise our unity — We're all Australians now.

I love Australia it looks fine to me mate You see Australia is very cool There are a lot of fun things to do here You can go down to Sydney"s beaches Like Bondi, Manly or even Coogee You can see if you can run faster Than the best at city 2 surf It puts Sydney on the Australian map And we also have our great sporting games Like cricket, tennis, AFL and the two rugby codes If you go to the USA, you'll see so many parades They have for christmas While we just have one main parade Which is from Adelaide, and that is really good You get at glimpse of the past with come on Aussie come on Sydney started a great Santa race, where you run A marathon dressed in a Santa suit And it was brought to Canberra And it was very successful too There are two televised Christmas carols From Sydney's domain and Melbourne's Meyer music bowl Yes, if you see the great ocean road and then have a look At the grampians, you will have a great time And there are some great surf carnivals on various beaches here Showing that footy and cricket, is not all we have We love to drink, sometimes too much But we are out to have a good time A ball, we are ready to party this Australia day Australian sons, oh let us rejoice But we need to include women too Australians all let us rejoice With Tony Abbott wanting to destroy us AS OUR BELOVED PRIME MINISTER OH YEAH A HEAP We are aussie through and through So when we go our on Australa day We watch the fireworks, yes we are having a big ball of fun In the country of Australia

To my dear son, Boaz in distant Idaho, Saturday nite, the whole of New Zealand waited in apprehension for the All Blacks rugy team to play the resurgent Wallabys @ Fortress Eden Park. The previous week at Suncorp Stadium in Sydney, in driving rain, the All Blacks muddled through a painfull draw with the Wallabys, 12 points each with no tries. The Wallabys had fancied their chances and had wanted an emphatic win on home soil. Both teams took that score as a loss and the gauntlet was thrown for the second match….. A brilliant evening, clear and fine , 50,000 people crushed in to Eden Park and you could feel the apprehension, the rest of the country sat in front of their TV willing the team on. The Haka was given a brutal rendition, you could feel the determination, the passion emanating….the Ozzies glared their defiance back…it was all on! 10 minutes into a titanic struggle with the score three all Captain Ritchie McCaw had a brain fade and was yellow carded off for ten minutes by the French referee. The crowd roared…then murmured their worry  like you’ve never heard before. The Ozzies mustered a huge scrum which the All Blacks countered with one man down…. The counter ****** pushed the Australian scrum back 15 ft. Every man in New Zealand was on his feet roaring, you could feel the spirit of nationalism soaring….the moment was a watershed. The All Blacks counterattacked showing a brilliance in attack and defence we have not seen for years… and from that moment on the game was won. Final score 51:20 The Bledisloe Cup was ours. As the match finished the TV camera panned across the solidly black clad crowd…. I have never, ever in my life, seen so many, simultaneous, sets of white teeth grinning! The trip home to Australia would have been… a very subdued affair. Thought I should share this marvellous moment with you Boaz. Luv Dad.

I love Australia it looks fine to me mate You see Australia is very cool There are a lot of fun things to do here You can go down to Sydney"s beaches Like Bondi, Manly or even Coogee You can see if you can run faster Than the best at city 2 surf It puts Sydney on the Australian map And we also have our great sporting games Like cricket, tennis, AFL and the two rugby codes If you go to the USA, you'll see so many parades They have for christmas While we just have one main parade Which is from Adelaide, and that is really good You get at glimpse of the past with come on Aussie come on Sydney started a great Santa race, where you run A marathon dressed in a Santa suit And it was brought to Canberra And it was very successful too There are two televised Christmas carols From Sydney's domain and Melbourne's Meyer music bowl Yes, if you see the great ocean road and then have a look At the grampians, you will have a great time And there are some great surf carnivals on various beaches here Showing that footy and cricket, is not all we have We love to drink, sometimes too much But we are out to have a good time A ball, we are ready to party this Australia day Australian sons, oh let us rejoice But we need to include women too Australians all let us rejoice With Tony Abbott wanting to destroy us TOO BAD JULIA AND KEVIN WEREN’T ANY MATCH BUT We are aussie through and through So when we go our on Australa day We watch the fireworks, yes we are having a big ball of fun In the country of Australia

My life had got colder, seeping itself into numbness. Coping wasn't possible or needed because if I just slept or drank or took some sort of drug I was okay I thought we were both going to get stronger. And a huge part of me bets I wasn't missed when we pretended the other didn't exist. I don't exist. I wanted to feel something and at the same time I was grateful that I couldn't.   I couldn't stand to be here wishing you'd make another account to talk to me seeing if you'd just try a little harder to keep me or to get me back but you told me that if we argued and I left the room You'd just let me go. I should have kept that in mind then you said you loved me And I wonder what love means I always assumed it meant the will of risking all for one another without the need to I lost it and threw myself to the ground for the tears to pour or at least trickle and I couldn't even make the expression. I left because of my own attitude mixing with yours and I was too clingy. Codependency is a ***** I think. Not fair like Karma. I left because I couldn't take the feeling of not being loved I was so used to you loving me completely I left because I didn't think you cared and after Justin, I thought I knew better. Even if I didn't show it it killed me and it's still killing me inside and out. Istillloveyou. Just know I'd still take you back I just can't stop writing without mentioning you. but since it's poetry, I can do whatever I want so I'm weaving you into every word every space every sound and meaning Sydney Sydney Sydney

Preparations are gearing up for the iD Dunedin Fashion Show, which this year opens with a tribute to Australasian style on Anzac weekend. The 120m-long platform of Dunedin's railway station is again the venue for shows on April 24 and 25, which are preceded by the iD International Emerging Designer Awards on Thursday night at the Town Hall. Saturday night is sold out and about 100 tickets are still available to Friday's show, organisers say. Labels Carlson, Mild-Red and NOM*d, brands synonymous with Dunedin fashion, were in the original show in a local bar in 2000 and they're still show stalwarts. Company of Strangers, Charmaine Reveley, DADA Vintage, Storm, Perriam, Deval, GG (from Shanghai), Liann Bellis, BEATS clothing, Jason Lingard and Jane Sutherland are also strutting their stuff this year. The shows open with a section titled Together Alone, Revisited, put together by Doris De Pont, featuring garments by four New Zealand and three Australian designers shown at an exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria in 2009. International guest judge Doris Raymond, the star of documentary series LA Frockstars, is also bringing some garments with her for the show. The owner of vintage emporium The Way We Wore has a fabulous collection of outfits and she will talk about them at an event in the city on Friday. Six fashion graduate designers from the Otago Polytechnic School of Design will also show their collections in the shows on Friday and Saturday night. Garments made by the winner of the emerging designer awards are also in the show. The finalists were selected from nearly 100 entries from seven countries and 14 fashion schools. There's a strong showing from Australian schools, especially from Sydney, says judge Tanya Carlson.Read more here:www.marieaustralia.com/evening-dresses | www.marieaustralia.com/short-formal-dresses

*"What is your name?" Her Dark Eyes Reminded Me Of The Ocean At Dusk. They Were Dark, Deep, And Endless; Harboring Many Secrets. "My name is Sydney." My Lips Pealed Back Into A Smile Even Though Her Expression Was Quite Puzzled. "Sydney?" She Smiled.. The Sweetest Smile I Have Ever Seen. She Turned To Her Friend Who Had The Same Dark Eyes. He Smiled Too. The Corners Of His Eyes Morphed Into Sharp Points As His Plumb Cheeks Stretched Upwards. "We shall give you a new name." She Turned To Him. "What shall we name her?" More Of Their Friends Gathered Around Them. One Boy Approached The Group Which Had Congregated Around Me. "Let's name her Maudie." "Yes! That is perfect. Do you know what that means?" She Softly Stroked My Hair As Her Dark Eyes Locked Onto Mine. "It means Rose. Beautiful Rose." I Smiled, My New Friends Watched As She Took My Hands. "Maudie... Don't Ever Forget That This Is Your Name. Never Forget Who You Are."*

Never Forget
The Cresent Moon Dancing With The Silhouette, Of Old Silos, In A Ballroom Of Winter Air, Completed With Hanging Glow In The Dark Stars, & Planets Suspended In Spaces Endless Corridor,   Human Life Scarce For The Hours Of Darkness, Except For A Few Nocturnal Beings, Mostly Adolescents Sipping Liquid Courage, Drowning Their Pride With Hearty Venom, The Creatures Of The Woods Roam Freely, Scrambling Across Roads And Frostbitten Yards, Awaiting The Frosty Tears Of The Heavens, Coating The Land In A Winter White Blanket, Drops Of Jupiter Perfectly Fall Into Place, Upon Rich Green Eyes, And Swim In An Eternity Of Spring, And Kiss The Petals Of A Sturdy Rose, The Golden Gates Of Beauty, Open And Welcome, In The Cold November Evening, Mercury Glides Upon Smooth--Vanilla Skin, Enternal Peace Just On The Tips Of Frigid Fingers, Slipping Into The Grooves Of Skinny Extremities, As Gardian Angels With Rustic Gold Halos, Reach Into A Troubled Heart, Take Me To The Light Drops Of Jupiter Roll Down Rosy Cheeks, Take Me With You The Cresent Moon Glitters Off A Radiant Dress, Come With Me Sydney Bright Light Fills Two Worshiping Retinas, I Will, I Will Rays More Vivid Then The Rays Of The Sun Itself, Then The Green Irises Open, Sadly It Was Just A Dream, But Drops Of Jupiter, Still Lay On Her Pale Cold Cheeks, And The Cresent Moon's Light Still Slips Through, Light Resisting Blinds, And The Trees Whisper A Secret, Which Was Shared, With Me Information Injected, From A Vile Of Destiny
