Dear Swamiji,

How I miss you
Since you've gone away
I know you are in a better place.

How can I begin to describe
How much you have meant to me

Your calm voice
Your touch

You have been my father
You have been my mentor
You have been my friend

I am a grateful recipient
Of your unconditional love

You have been my spiritual guide.

You have taught me relaxation
You have taught me meditation
You have initiated me into the Tradition
You have taught me Yoga Nidra.

Thought your 83 year old body
Was wracked by illness
You never suffered
And you always had an easy smile on your face

My last lesson, which is how to alleviate my suffering
Was never completed
And now you are not there
To teach me.
Not in corporeal form, anyway

You spoke of Will and it's a Koan
I have not found a resolution to

You have forgiven all my many flaws
You have forgiven all my mistakes
I have have been filled with plenty of both
You never rejected me
Nor did you abandon me

I came across your teaching
At age 19
And then studied with you directly
For 20 glorious years.
And for 33 years I have benefitted
From your sacred words.

Somewhere a lotus flower
Grows in the mother Ganges.
It is blooming for you
And bears silent witness
To the legacy of your life

Death has not set us apart
You will live in my heart forever
Truly, you will be the jewel in the Lotus
And i will continue the work.

I will continue to study your teachings
And I will live the way you have lived
To the best of my ability.

Dear Swamiji, I love you and I miss you

~Arianna Darshani
this poem is about the recent death of my spiritual teacher, Swami Veda Bharati. I have studied with him for 20 years. Now he's gone.
My heart is a celestial bedroom
where my Lord hastens unto me
I have placed a garland of stars
around his neck
and pierced His ears with the honey moon
His skin is anointed with the
fragrance of Love
and His feet are the only pillows
my head cares for
when He smiles my life finds
inner meaning and dances about
like a giddy lovestruck maiden
drunk on His holy name
Om Sai Ram Dear Family

Sai Blessings,

Sonya Ki Tomlinson
My days are numbered...
the body casts a shadow
penumbra
across the lustrous face
of Time

Soon I will fall,
silent pendulum
prostrate
into Your celestial arms
Swamiji
a Lotus petal
drifting down from heaven

Swollen tears crash against
riverbanks
golden fish swim in limpid, rippling
black iris pools of my eyes

And the wild throbbing of
my soul
cannot contain
this love that
soars unfettered, undying
perpetually
towards...
You
A GREAT TEACHER

Some call Him Sai Baba, Guru Nanak or Kabir.
Others say Mahtma, Swamiji, Guruji, or Peer.

Teaches he, lessons of life;
Teaches he, how to handle strife.

Teaches he, to have patience immense.
Teaches he, to be patient, which makes a lot of sense.

Teaches he, to have immense faith in Him.
Teaches he, not to perturbed get, when things seem dim.

Teaches he, to be kind n caring to bird, man n beast.
Teaches he, for inner peace; one needn't  go west or east.

Teaches he, to trees plant and flowers grow.
Teaches he, to waste food not; never it throw.

Protectes He, sometimes punishes He, like a father.
Protects He, with care great, tenderly, like a mother.

Lucky His disciple is, whom He lovingly binds.
Lucky one is, if a teacher like Him, one finds.

A teacher or Guru like Him, is precious and rare.
You are lucky if He takes you under His wings, His care.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWAMIJI

Years ago, together a young enlightened yogi and Jamshedji Tata, a new India shaped, whilst on board a ship

On a voyage in 1893, on the Empress, shaped was the destiny of Bharat Mata; it was an important flip.

Trying I am, to this narrate this extraordinary event in words simple, without pictures any, or a video clip

Together both these patriots, these all time greats, these true sons of our soil, had a discussion deep

His lecture at Chicago, changed the way foreigners thought about our Country; a sense of pride, in us he instilled in heaps

In a short span of 39 years, imparted he so much knowledge, to narrate it is a task impossible; but for this loss India weeps.

I FEEL SO VERY LUCKY TO SHARE YOUR BIRTHDAY.
MAY YOU FROM HEAVEN BLESS OUR COUNTRY N THE ENTIRE WORLD, WITH YOUR WISDOM DIVINE.
